Miley Cyrus got ‘brutal infection' after rolling around on Walk of Fame for film

Miley Cyrus has said she believes that rolling around on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for a new music film led to a 'brutal infection' on her knee. The US singer, 32, who found fame playing Hannah Montana on the eponymous children's show, was filmed lying across part of the historic Los Angeles landmark for her new film, Something Beautiful. 'I filmed this video in October, and by November, at Thanksgiving, I was put in ICU (intensive care unit), for a moment, just for a moment,' she told US chat show Jimmy Kimmel Live! 'But it's mostly because it was Thanksgiving. There was a lot of people in the ER (emergency room), you know, people choking on turkey legs or whatever. 'And my leg began to disintegrate within some way around the kneecap area. The doctor goes, 'You have any idea why you would have such a brutal infection on your kneecap?' And I just saw myself,' she said while mimicking dance moves from the video. 'And I had to tell him. And to have a surgeon look at you and say, 'Yuck.' 'They open up like cadavers, like they see inside the guts of humans, and they're looking at me, telling me I'm disgusting.' Asked if the area where she filmed had been steamed first, Cyrus replied: 'Absolutely not, none of that. 'Because, you know, with this movie, I had a big dream and a small budget. 'Well, I had a pretty good budget, but I spent it all on my clothes. 'Then when it came time to go to the Walk of Fame, they're like 'So what are you going to do? Are you going to rent this thing or what, because that's really out of your price range.' I was like, 'No, we'll just go in the middle of the night.' 'Have you been to the Walk of Fame in the middle of the night? I thought it was my last day.' The new film is accompanied by the singer's ninth studio album of the same name which includes a song titled Walk Of Fame, featuring US musician Brittany Howard. The album is being released on May 30 and there will be special one-night-only screenings of the film internationally on June 27.

Watch: Ricky Gervais rails against cancel culture as he's honoured with a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Comedian Ricky Gervais has been honoured with a star on Hollywood's iconic Walk of Fame. While the star of The Office admitted he was 'humbled' to receive the tribute on Friday (30 May), he couldn't resist poking fun at the event in a broadside against cancel culture. 'Thank you so much for this honor. It's a genuine thrill to be part of such an exclusive club,' said Gervais. 'And just looking around earlier at all the other stars, absolute icons, you know, Michael Jackson, Bill Cosby, Fatty Arbuckle. 'And we've had a few weird years of cancel culture - people telling you what you can and can't laugh at or talk about, but we pushed back and we won until the next time.'

Miley Cyrus reveals she got down and dirty on the Hollywood Walk of Fame while filming secret music video for her new album Something Beautiful

She's one of the biggest popstars in the world. But even Miley Cyrus isn't afraid to get down and dirty, quite literally, as she revealed the behind the scene secrets on filming her latest music video for her track Walk Of Fame. The Flowers hitmaker, 32, filmed on the filthy and famous Hollywood Walk of Fame in the middle of the night and has admitted she was left 'completely covered in, I don't even know what.' Appearing on Jimmy Hill's Capital Show on Thursday evening, Jimmy expressed his worry as he said: 'Something slightly concerned me, though, Miley, that I've got to bring up, track nine, a song called Walk of Fame. 'You're rolling around on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And if you don't know, it's quite a dirty street, did they wash it down for you first? Was it sanitised?' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Confirming she received no special treatment, Miley said: 'They did not. And actually, I had to keep wiping my hands clean because every time I would go like this, you would see that they were completely covered in, I don't even know what. Don't think about it. She also revealed they had to film in the middle of the night to avoid attracting attention. 'We had to shoot it, kind of like very on the fly, because we shot it at about three o'clock in the morning. 'The whole song is about not being able to kind of walk down the street and in this anonymous way. So how could I ever do that in what I'm wearing with music blaring? 'So we had to go when there was very little people out on the street. So we shot that in the middle of the night. And as if you've been to the Walk of Fame, it's not the greatest place in the middle of the night.' Jimmy joked: 'No, I love the idea of somebody driving past and then telling their friends afterwards,'I saw Miley Cyrus rolling around on the street at three in the morning' because nobody would ever believe that.' Miley added: 'That definitely happened. And I'm happy there was no crashes because there was a lot of people driving by and looking out their window going, 'am I seeing what I think I'm seeing?' 'But yeah, once I got up off the ground, my executive producer of this album, he goes, 'Wow, you were really going for it. That's kind of gross.' 'I didn't even really think about it being gross, because you're doing anything for the bit at that time. And if he tells you, it's gross, it's actually gross.' It comes after Miley revealed the shoot even led to a 'brutal knee infection' as she opened up about health complications while on Jimmy Kimmel earlier this week. 'I filmed this video in October, and by November, at Thanksgiving, I was put in ICU (intensive care unit), for a moment, just for a moment. 'But it's mostly because it was Thanksgiving. There was a lot of people in the ER (emergency room), you know, people choking on turkey legs or whatever. 'And my leg began to disintegrate within some way around the kneecap area. The doctor goes, "You have any idea why you would have such a brutal infection on your kneecap?" And I just saw myself' she said while mimicking dance moves from the video. 'And I had to tell him. And to have a surgeon look at you and say, "Yuck".. They open up like cadavers, like they see inside the guts of humans, and they're looking at me, telling me I'm disgusting.' Miley's ninth studio album Something Beautiful was released on Friday with the film premiering for one night only in the US and Canada on June 12 and June 27 internationally. Listen to The Capital Evening Show with Jimmy Hill on Monday to Thursday from 19:00 - 22:00 across the UK and on Global Player

Miley Cyrus reveals hospital dash after filming for her music video caused shock illness

MILEY Cyrus has revealed she was dashed to hospital after filming for her music video caused a shock illness. Singer Miley, 32, explained her surprise stint in intensive care caused her to develop a nasty infection, despite only shooting on the popular Hollywood Walk of Fame. 3 3 During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week, the pop star joked: 'I was rolling around on the sidewalk - very glamorous, I know. I caught something!' She had been recording visuals for her new track Walk of Fame, which features in her upcoming album, Something Beautiful, set for release on Friday. Filming took place back in October, but by the time Thanksgiving rolled around, Miley was in the ICU. She told Jimmy that emergency departments were overcrowded at the time so she was admitted to intensive care 'just for a moment'. Recalling the infection had spread to her leg, specifically around the kneecap, she said: 'My leg began to kind of disintegrate. "The surgeon was like, 'Do you know why you'd have such a brutal infection on your kneecap?' And I had to admit… I was crawling around on the pavement. 'To have a surgeon look at you and say, 'Yuck' - and they cut into actual brains for a living - that's a lot,' Miley added with humour. Jimmy asked whether the pavement had at least been cleaned beforehand. Miley admitted: 'Absolutely not. I had a big dream and a small-ish budget. Well, a decent budget - but I spent most of it on clothes.' Rather than rent the space, Miley and her team decided to film guerrilla-style in the middle of the night. She said: 'They were like, 'You gonna rent the Walk of Fame?' And I was like, 'No… we'll just go at midnight.'' Reflecting on the slightly chaotic shoot, she told Jimmy: 'Have you ever been to the Walk of Fame at night? I thought it was my last day.' While she's back in fine fettle now, the Hannah Montana superstar recently told how another medical issue has rocked her career. Thankfully, she's since made a full recovery - but it's not the only health scare that's affected her music career. Despite fan demand, Miley hasn't embarked on a headline world tour in over a decade. While she once blamed it on her tour outfits getting creased (a reason even she admits was flimsy), she's now come clean about the real issue. In a recent interview with DJ Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Miley revealed she suffers from a large polyp on her vocal cords, as well as a condition called Reinke's edema - both of which make touring nearly impossible. Miley explained: 'I have this very large polyp on my vocal cord, which has given me a lot of the tone and the texture that has made me who I am, but it's extremely difficult to perform with because it's like running a marathon with ankle weights on. 'My voice is super-unique because of it, but I do have this Reinke's edema and I have this large polyp on my cords — and I'm not willing to sever it because the chance of waking up from surgery and not sounding like myself is a probability.' 3
