Felda, Pahang Govt Work Together To Strengthen FGV Strategic Position

BENTONG, May 26 (Bernama) -- The presence of the Pahang government as one of the persons acting in concert (PAC) in the unconditional voluntary takeover of FGV Holdings Bhd (FGV) remaining shares by the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) is capable of strengthening FGC's strategic position. Felda chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek said the move not only sped up Felda's efforts to achieve 90 per cent share ownership as stipulated by but also showed the Bursa Malaysia, but showed the Pahang's willingness to work together with the federal agency to develop the national plantation sector. The close cooperation with the state government provides room for more synergy in empowering the economic status of settlers. "Now Felda has 82 per cent and the other biggest shareholders are the state government of Pahang, with five per cent. Without that five per cent, we can't meet the 90 per cent threshold set by Bursa Malaysia (to take over FGV). "With this, the process of obtaining 90 per cent is closer, and at the same time, this agreement will make ties between the Pahang government and Felda a close and important one where many decisions will be considered together,' he said at a media conference after a Felda gathering with Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail here today, which was also attended by Felda managing director Datuk Dr Suzana Idayu Wati Osman. Meanwhile, Wan Rosdy said Pahang's participation in the takeover demonstrated its commitment to be part of the national agenda to support state economic growth, FGV's continuity and the welfare of Felda settlers. "I would like to assure that the state government will continue to support all of Felda's main agendas, including redevelopment of old settlements, upgrading public infrastructure, assessing property values and uplifting the quality of life for settlers, especially the new generation,' he said. FGV accepted the voluntary unconditional takeover offer from Felda, which is aimed at regaining the remaining unowned shares. A notice issued by Maybank Investment Bank Bhd on behalf of Felda stated that the offer suggested a cash payment of RM1.30 per share for all FGV ordinary shares not held by Felda.

Pahang Aims To Issue Land Titles To All Felda Settlers By Year-end

BERA, May 19 (Bernama) -- The Pahang government is committed to ensuring that all Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) settlers in the state receive their land titles by this year. State FELDA Affairs, Cooperatives and Entrepreneurs Committee chairman, Datuk Amizar Abu Adam said they are optimistic about achieving the goal as only four per cent, or 1,840 out of 43,126 settlers, have yet to receive their land titles. "This remaining four per cent is due to technical issues, including discrepancies in the Register of Holdings (ROH), such as missing names of spouses or heirs. "This is what we need to prepare and resolve within this year so that all grants can be handed over to the recipients," he said at a press conference after a Land Title Presentation ceremony and the Felda Pahang 2025 Mini Carnival at Felda Triang 3 here today. Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail officiated the event. It was also attended by former Prime Minister and Bera MP Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and FELDA chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek. At the event, 195 settlers from Felda Triang 3 received their land titles for residential and agricultural lots after waiting for nearly four decades. Amizar added that most unresolved cases were identified in the Felda Kuantan zone, accounting for about 60 to 70 per cent of the total, compared to the Felda Jengka and Mempaga zones. "We are resolving the issues one by one, and since some involve legal matters, they will understandably take longer," he said. He added that the state government and FELDA are committed to enhancing settlers' income in Pahang.

Pahang hands over land titles to 41,286 Felda settlers

BERA: The Pahang government has presented land titles to 41,286 settlers or 96 per cent out of 43,126 Felda settlers across the state. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the remaining 1,840 settlers would receive their land titles soon. "We (the Pahang government) are always committed to look into the welfare of the Felda community, and various efforts have and are being implemented to safeguard their rights, future, and development throughout the state. "Settlers are the heroes of development, the backbone of rural progress, and key contributors to the national economy," he said in his speech during a ceremony to hand over land titles and open the mini-Felda carnival at Felda Triang 3 here today. A total of 195 settlers received their land titles involving house and plantation lots today. Wan Rosdy described the land titles as a recognition of the sweat, sacrifices, and resilience of the Felda community in transforming the once empty land into fertile and prosperous schemes. He said the land grants are not just a piece of paper but a legitimate symbol of recognition that the land now belongs to the respective settlers. Meanwhile, Wan Rosdy said the needs of the Felda community remain a priority as the Pahang government has appointed an executive council member to manage all Felda-related affairs. "We have set up the Felda Pahang Muafakat Secretariat to serve as a bridge linking the settlers and Pahang government to look into the issues and needs of the community, with RM2 million allocated this year. "Phase 1 of the Felda People's Land Scheme Project (STRFP) offers 16,035 residential lots to eligible second-generation recipients across the state," he said. Meanwhile, Felda Triang 3 settlers head Abdul Wahab Jusoh said the first and second generation of settlers were grateful to finally receive the land grants. "We have waited more than 35 years and the good news arrived today. All the settlers have pledged to take care of their respective land which will be inherited by their families in the future," he said.
