The first half of 2025 will end on a great note, with 10 new South Korean content slated for release on several OTT platforms. This week, get ready for a thrilling ride as So Ji Sub and Heo Joo Ho's Mercy for None officially premieres. The much-awaited and hyped about series will bring fresh, gripping plot and stellar action sequences to the OTT sphere. Additionally, fans can look forward to new episode releases of ongoing dramas like Our Unwritten Seoul, GOOD BOY, ONE: High School Heroes and more. New premiere Mercy for None This action thriller features a former gangster (So Ji Sub) who returns to the underworld to seek revenge for his brother's murder. This gripping drama, also starring Gong Myung and Huh Joon Ho, premieres on June 6 on Netflix. Ongoing K-dramas Besides the above-mentioned ones, several ongoing series will be back with new episodes as well. ONE: High School Heroes episode 1 to 4 recap– Lee Jung Ha flights bullies with Kim Do Wan's technical advice, masked vigilante follows
ONE: High School Heroes premiered with its first four episodes on May 30, Friday. The Wavve original drama explores the struggle against bullying within a high school setting. Starring Lee Jung Ha and Kim Do Wan, this series starts with the former suddenly becoming the victim of bullying, after the latter instigating him to fight back. Catch up on all the key updates of the debut week's episodes here. Kim Eui Gyeom (Lee Jung Ha) faces immense mental torment from his father to excel academically and become a doctor. His elder brother was the previous victim, whose struggle ended with s*icide. As he sees a fellow classmate being bullied, a particular poking gesture of the tormentor triggers a strong reaction from Kim Eui Gyeom, culminating in a fierce showdown between him and the bully, Choi Hong Il (Im Hyun Tae). As Kim Eui Gyeom stands up for himself, he becomes a target for the browbeaters, who escalate the situation by involving the senior bullies. However, Kim Eui Gyeom refuses to back down and takes down each of his tormentors one by one. During his confrontations, he catches the attention of Kang Yun Gi (Kim Do Wan), a classmate who offers his technical expertise. Despite initial reluctance, Kim Eui Gyeom finds Kang Yun Gi's advice beneficial when facing the school's top fighter, jujutsu ace Nam Seung Sik (Shin Jun Seop). Kang Yun Gi himself is a skilled fighter who prefers to observe and support Kim Eui Gyeom from the sidelines rather than engaging in action himself. It appears that he has a personal reason for avoiding violence, hinted at by his regular hospital visits to someone in critical condition. However, things will change in the upcoming episodes of ONE: High School Heroes, as Kang Yun Gi will join forces with Kim Eui Gyeom to take down troublemakers, marking a significant shift in his role. After successfully cleaning up their own school, they plan to expand their mission by targeting bullies from other local schools through a masked vigilante operation. Their first target will be Kim Nam Hyeop (Hong Min Ki), a skilled Muay Thai practitioner and son of a prominent professor.

'One: High School Heroes' brings to life smash-hit webtoon
Star-studded ensemble joins the show, with Disney+ 'Moving' star Lee Jung-ha and 'Single's Inferno' star Yuk Jun-seo A smash-hit webtoon driven by a mission to eradicate school violence is getting the live-action treatment. "One: High School Heroes," Wavve's latest original series, is set to premiere this Friday with a star-studded ensemble, including Lee Jung-ha, best known as the superpowered lead of the Disney+ series "Moving," and Yuk Jun-seo, the breakout heartthrob from Netflix's "Single's Inferno." The coming-of-age action drama centers on Eui-gyum (played by Lee), a top student burdened by his domineering father. He teams up with Yoon-gi (Kim Do-wan) to form a covert masked vigilante group determined to confront school violence head-on. Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, which has amassed over 65 million views, the series promises a faithful adaptation of the original narrative. 'The series will have a storyline that's almost identical to the original work,' director Lee Sung-tae said during a press conference held Wednesday in Seoul's Gwangjin-gu. He added, 'Some parts were slightly adapted for the drama, such as adding elements to strengthen the oppressive atmosphere of Eui-gyum's father's household and making the character Yoon-gi more flexible than in the original. We added narrative depth to Yoon-gi's character to make him more relatable." Marking Lee Jung-ha's return to the small screen following his star-making role in "Moving," the actor once again steps into the shoes of a hero -- though this time, grounded in the real world. Known for portraying a superhuman with dynamic combat skills in "Moving," Lee said he immersed himself in extensive martial arts training to prepare for the wide range of action sequences required in the new series. Joining him is Yuk, who has been steadily rising through the entertainment ranks following his appearances on "The Iron Squad," Netflix's "Sweet Home," and the dating reality show "Single's Inferno" season four. In "One: High School Heroes," he plays enigmatic transfer student Lee Gul-jae, a fan-favorite character from the webtoon. 'It's a uniquely charming character with an already established fanbase. I focused on preserving that without damaging it,' said Yuk. 'Honestly, it feels almost embarrassing for me to be here as an actor. I auditioned and got the role before my identity as an actor was even fully formed. I'm sure the director had a lot of concerns. I spent a lot of time trying to make the role feel more like 'me.'" Yuk also spoke about the physically demanding nature of the role, which required him to lean into his real-life background serving in the South Korean military's Underwater Demolition Team. 'For this project, I focused on delivering intense action that could amplify my UDT background. There were more physical scenes than dialogue. ... The character needed to use his body actively and perform some unusual action scenes. It's the kind of action I'll never forget for the rest of my life,' he said.
