Justin Baldoni Is In Hot Water Again After New Lawsuit From His Insurance Company

The insurer covering Justin Baldoni's studio Wayfarer for work on It Ends With Us has sued him and the studio, stating that its policies don't cover the claims made by Blake Lively in her sexual harassment lawsuit. Harco National Insurance Company – the insurer in question – filed a lawsuit on Monday stating that the two policies that Wayfarer took out with them ran between 15 July 15 2023 and July 15, 2024, and a second running from 15 July 2024 to 15 July, 2025. Therefore, the lawsuit alleges that 'Lively and others complained of sexual harassment during pre-production and production of the Film,' which was as early as May 2023, outside the time parameters of the policy. The insurance company has advised that it 'will not provide coverage for claims or incidents which the applicant is aware of prior to the inception date of any coverage that is offered and accepted.' Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni in It Ends With Us. (Photo: IMAGO) The accusations listed in Lively's complaint against Baldoni include sexual harassment; retaliation; failure to investigate, prevent and/or remedy harassment; aiding and abetting harassment and retaliation; breach of contract; intentional infliction of emotional distress; negligence; false light invasion of privacy and interference with prospective economic advantage. Baldoni then filed a $400 million countersuit, which claimed that Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, orchestrated a smear campaign against him. His countersuit was dismissed by a judge earlier this month. 'Despite the acknowledged pre-July 2023 complaints by Lively and others, Wayfarer's July 2023 Application for the 2023 Policy includes a letter from Wayfarer which warrants that no person or entity for whom the insurance is intended has any knowledge or information of any act, error, omission, fact or circumstance which may give rise to a claim which may fall within the Employment Practices Liability coverage if issued by Harco (the '2023 Warranty'),' the lawsuit states. 'Despite this notice, and despite the November 2023 Demand and additional allegations of sexual harassment presented by Lively during a January 2024 meeting, Wayfarer's 2024 Renewal Application advised Harco that there was no claim, notice of potential claim, or any situation that may give rise to a claim within the last 12 months,' it continues. 'There was no claim or notice or potential claim.' Essentially, Harco are alleging that they were not informed of Blake Lively's complaints, which were a precursor to the litigation that followed, during the filming of It Ends With Us. The ongoing legal issues come after latest developments in Lively's initial lawsuit saw her deposed by Baldoni's team ahead of trial. Lively was granted a protective order by the judge presiding over the case, after her team feared Baldoni's would make a public spectacle it and that content creators would be invited to the should-be private deposition - which took place on 17 July. The director's legal team was therefore asked to identify everyone who will attend her deposition, They were required to give two days notice as to who will be attending. Before this motion was granted, Baldoni's team suggested that the Gossip Girl actor was using her 'celebrity status' as well as trying to dictate and control the deposition, 'at a location of her choosing.' 'Lively is a plaintiff who has hurled serious allegations of misconduct against the Wayfarer Parties,' a letter from Baldoni's team reads. 'Like all defendants, the Wayfarer Parties are entitled to depose Lively to develop evidence crucial to their defense. They are also entitled to choose the location of the deposition, which they did.' His team also referred to Lively's requests as examples of 'foot stomping' referring to her lawyer's behaviour as a 'tantrum,' and that she has used her celebrity status to 'seize control' of It Ends With Us, which Baldoni and Lively both starred in. Statements were made by Baldoni's lawyer Bryan Freedman about holding Lively's deposition at New York City's Madison Square Garden. 'Hold the deposition at MSG, sell tickets or stream it, and donate every dollar to organisations helping victims of domestic abuse,' he told People in an interview. Freedman has also subpoenaed Taylor Swift as part of his legal strategy, who he has claimed was the target of an extortion effort by Lively. The date for Lively and Baldoni's trial is set for March 2026 and will be held in New York City. Lawyers for both actors have indicated that both plan to testify during the proceedings.

Ray-Ban Meta or Oakley Meta HSTN? The battle of smart glasses

Meta made a leap into the eyewear segment with Ray-Ban Meta in 2023. The smart glasses which are now available in India are essentially a sleek headset that comes with a 12MP ultra-wide camera, open-ear audio, and a five-mic array. So far, the tech giant has sold over two million pairs globally. Fast-forward to 2025, Meta partnered with Oakley to introduce the Oakley Meta HSTN line, which comes with a sporty spin on the company's AI eyewear. With the Oakley HSTN Meta limited edition now entering the market, there seems to be some tough competition for Ray-Ban Meta. If you are planning to buy a Meta-backed pair of smart glasses, it is likely you may have many questions about how Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta stack up against each other. To make things easy, here is an instant comparison between the two wearables. For starters, both models feature 12MP ultra-wide cameras, capturing 3024 x 4032 images and 1440 x 1920 video at 30 FPS. However, the Oakley HSTN takes a slight lead with a 100-degree field of view and the ability to record 720p video at a super-smooth 120 FPS. The Wayfarer's field of view remains unlisted, making the HSTN a more versatile choice for action-packed moments. In terms of performance and AI integration, both smart glasses are somewhat similar. They offer full access to Meta AI for vocal queries, live translation, and seamless interaction through the Meta AI app. Making calls, sending texts, and managing settings are equally intuitive on both. For audio, both feature open-ear speakers. While the Ray-Ban Wayfarer specifies 'open-ear Bluetooth speakers' with Bluetooth 5.2, the Oakley HSTN simply states 'open-ear' but comes integrated with Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. This minor upgrade in the HSTN could translate to slightly more stable and efficient wireless audio. If cutting-edge camera features like a wider field of view and higher frame rate video are your priority, the Oakley HSTN Meta offers a slight edge. However, for core smart glass functionalities and AI integration, both models deliver a similar experience. In terms of size, the Oakley HSTN is available in a single size and weighs 49 grams, whereas the Ray-Ban Meta offers standard and large options, with the standard weighing the same as the Oakley. The Oakley HSTN has a more rounded lens and noticeable notched nose pads, while the Ray-Ban Meta has the recognisable square Wayfarer lens. Users can also opt for many other lens options. The Ray-Ban Meta offers a more extensive selection with transitions between clear, green, brown, and red. More frame colour options, including a special transparent option, are available with Ray-Ban Meta, offering more customisation. On the other hand, the Oakley HSTN is only available in one colour option, and it only gets the Prizm 24K polarised lens, which is designed for sports and outdoor settings. Between the Oakley HSTN and the Ray-Ban Meta, a key difference lies in battery life, with Oakley claiming a substantial eight hours on a single charge, double Ray-Ban's stated four hours. The charging cases also present a notable contrast. Oakley's case promises an impressive 48 additional hours of use, surpassing Ray-Ban's 36 hours. While Ray-Ban offers a sleek leather case, Oakley's more rugged design caters to active lifestyles. The decision ultimately comes down to cost and design. The limited-edition Oakleys are significantly more expensive, and it depends if the improvements, such as a better camera and better battery, truly make more than a marginal difference. The Ray-Ban Wayfarers, which start at Rs 29,900 and go up to Rs 35,700, will be slightly less expensive than the Oakley smart glasses, which come at $499 (about Rs 43,000). The Wayfarer provides a more affordable access into the world of smart glasses, while the HSTN appeals to more experienced users due to its better cameras as well as extended battery life.

Insurance company refuses to cover Justin Baldoni legal fees in It Ends With Us lawsuit

Justin Baldoni and his production company Wayfarer may face a steep legal bill after their insurer, Harco National Insurance, filed a lawsuit on Monday in New York federal court, stating it has no obligation to cover legal costs tied to sexual harassment allegations on the set of It Ends With Us. Harco argues that the alleged misconduct occurred before the policy became effective in July 2023 and that it was never informed of the complaints made by co-star Blake Lively during the filming. Lively reportedly raised the issues between April and June 2023, months before her formal lawsuit in December 2024. The insurer also claims that Wayfarer failed to disclose these complaints in its 2024 policy renewal application, despite receiving a demand letter in November 2023 and further allegations during a January 2024 meeting. The lawsuit stems from Lively's accusations against Baldoni and his team of retaliation and harassment, alleging they tried to damage her reputation after she spoke up. Baldoni countersued for $400 million, asserting that Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, orchestrated a smear campaign. The case has drawn Hollywood attention, with Taylor Swift subpoenaed and billionaire Steve Sarowitz backing Baldoni, while Reynolds supports Lively. According to Harco's complaint, the production company's $2 million coverage for directors, officers, and employment practices is invalidated by these undisclosed prior claims. In June, Harco formally denied coverage, stating the circumstances fall outside the policy's terms. If the court sides with Harco, Wayfarer and Baldoni could face a six-figure legal burden. The situation has become a high-stakes standoff between wealthy stakeholders, turning what began as a workplace complaint into one of Hollywood's most-watched legal dramas.

Ray-Ban Meta vs Oakley Meta smart glasses: Differences and similarities

Meta now has a new option when it comes to its smart glasses in the form of the newly announced Oakley HSTN Meta smart glasses. The latest Meta glasses look pretty slick. But with Ray-Ban Meta variants existing for a couple of years now, it's fair to wonder how these smart glass options compare. For those in the market for a pair of smart glasses, you may be wondering if its worth sticking with the Ray-Bans or turning to Oakley's option. We're here to help. If you're unfamiliar with Meta AI smart glasses, the Ray-Ban smart glasses rank fairly high on our best smart glasses list. We're looking forward for our chance to formally test the Oakley glasses once they become available. Until then, we can make a Ray-Ban Meta vs Oakley Meta comparison based on what we know about the new model. There are other styles of Ray-Ban Meta glasses, including the Skyler and Headliner but the Wayfarer are the glasses you'll see most often and the ones that Meta typically highlights when discussing its wearables. As such, I've compiled this comparison of the Oakley HSTN Meta smart glasses and the Ray-Ban Wayfarer Meta smart glasses to help you decide which pair of AI glasses you should rock. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Right now you can pick up a pair of Ray-Bans for $299 while the Oakleys can be pre-ordered for $499, a $200 difference. The transition lens Wayfarers are closer to the Oakleys at $379, but still cost $120 less. The Oakleys design is listed as a limited edition and Meta says it will only be available for "a limited time," so we're not sure how long that will remain open. There are some upgraded differences including better cameras and improved cameras in the Oakleys that could hint at why the new glasses are so much more expensive. The improved specs are a boon to the Oakleys, but if you're just dipping your toes into AI smart glasses, than the less expensive Ray-Bans might be be a better fit for your budget. Overall, the Ray-Bans are more wallet friendly but the Oakleys do offer double the battery life and better video capture, at least on paper. Ray-Ban Metas come in two sizes — a standard and large version. In contrast, the Oakleys are only available in one size that slots in right between the two Ray-Bans. The Oakleys weigh the same as the standard Wayfarers at 49 grams, and slightly less than the larger version. The big noticeable difference is in the design aesthetic, where the Wayfarers have a more square lens shape, while the HSTN have a rounded lens. Plus, the nose pads zone notches in a bit on the Oakleys compared to the Wayfarer where the nose pad area is thinner. Ray-Ban Meta glasses have a number of lens options ranging from transitions to clear, green and brown and red compared to the Oakley pair, which only is available with a Prizm 24K polarized lens that are "designed for specific sports and environments." The Prizm lenses are an Oakley design and can be seen on its non-smart glasses. Overall, your choice will come down to aesthetics. These Oakleys aren't a Meta-fied pair of wraparound Sphaera shades. They're pretty slick looking threading the needle between sports and daily wear. The Ray-Bans have been around longer and have more colorways for the frames including an N64-style transparent set that gives you more options to play with when picking a pair. On the whole, the cameras on the Ray-Ban Wayfarers and the Oakley HSTN glasses are basically the same. Both have 12MP ultra-wide lenses (that you can see in the corners of the glasses) which capture 3024 x 4032 images and video capture of 1440 x 1920 pixels at 30 FPS. However, the HSTN specs also have a 100 degree field of view. Neither the Meta site nor Ray-Ban list field of view specs for the Wayfarer. Additionally, the Oakleys can capture 720p video at 120 FPS. As far as we can tell there doesn't appear to be a difference in performance and AI between the Ray-Bans and Oakleys. Both will have access to Meta AI for vocal queries, live translation, and more. They also have access to the Meta AI app which lets you customize settings and interact with the Meta AI assistant on both the glasses and the app. As expected, both can make and take phones calls, or send text messages from the glasses. Lastly, the glasses have speakers for listening to music. The Ray-Bans are listed as open-ear Bluetooth speakers, while the Oakleys are just listed as open-ear, though it does have Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, compared to 5.2 for the Wayfarers. As mentioned above, the Oakley's HSTN glasses claim a battery life of 8 hours on a single charge, which is double the claimed 4 hours on the Ray-Bans. In our Ray-Ban Meta glasses review we found the glasses lasted around 6 hours of active use. Once we are able to test the Oakley's ourselves, we'll know where the battery life comparison truly stands. The charging case with Oakley's model is also an improvement, with a claimed additional 48 hours of use; the Ray-Ban cases offer up to 36 hours. The Ray-Ban glasses do come with a nice leather case, while the Oakleys come in a more rugged-looking case that appears built for more sports and outdoor activities. Until we're able to physically test the Oakley Meta glasses, we won't know how the Ray-Ban Wayfarers and HSTN smart glasses truly compare. But from what we've seen so far, the Oakleys boast several upgrades from the Ray-Ban glasses with a slightly better camera and better battery life. Right now what it comes down to is price and aesthetics. The Oakleys, while a limited edition, are far more expensive than the Ray-Bans and perhaps don't offer enough of an upgrade to justify the price. If money isn't an issue, then it will come down to whether or not you prefer the look of the Oakleys. I happen to think they look pretty solid, even with the nose pad notch. You might prefer the more daily wear approach of the Ray-Bans that would look great in most social settings, especially with the availability of different lenses and colorways.
