Sleep apnea causes natural disruption during nighttime by releasing stress hormones and reducing oxygen levels, which increases pressure on cardiovascular activity. To avoid sleep apnea, you should lose weight and avoid alcohol and sedatives before sleep. Taking Antidepressants Antidepressants, especially those related to mood and mental health, can prove fatal if taken without proper prescription. Each time, a doctor should be consulted regarding antidepressants and mixing them with other drugs such as venlafaxine and MAOIs. Without proper consultation, it can cause you hypertension. High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, happens when the force of your blood pushing against the walls of your blood vessels is too high. Talking a Lot Weird but true, while talking, you express your emotions—especially when talking about personal topics related to you. This could emotionally stir you up and increase your blood pressure. To avoid this, you should have control over your emotions. Practicing yoga and meditation helps to learn patience and emotional control. Not Drinking Enough Water Dehydration is a condition where you don't have enough water in your body. It makes your blood vessels narrow and increases pressure on the heart, triggering chemical imbalances. So, don't forget to drink more water and keep yourself hydrated enough. Having Decongestants Sometimes, these home remedies can prove fatal if not taken care of properly. Decongestants prompt your blood vessels to shrink. This puts pressure on cardiovascular activity and stress on your heart, which leads to high blood pressure. Not Having Enough Potassium If you have low potassium, then it can disrupt your sodium balance, even without eating salt, and cause fluid buildup in the kidneys, leading to high blood pressure. To avoid this, you can include foods and vegetables such as spinach and green peas in your daily diet. Having Acute Pain Acute pain is a type of pain which is felt in an instant, such as dipping your hand in ice or touching something hot. It can also cause an increase in blood pressure, but only for a short period of time. To avoid acute pain, one should pay attention to their surroundings and avoid any dangers which can hurt them. Various reports have proved that many health problems, including blood pressure, can be caused by an unhealthy lifestyle. Rosie O'Donnell, Amy Schumer and More Stars Who've Spoken About Using Mounjaro for Weight Loss
Rosie O'Donnell surprised fans in May 2025 by revealing a positive update on her weight loss journey — which she credited to using the medication Mounjaro. The injectable drug (also known as tirzepatide) is similar to Ozempic and Wegovy in that it is used primarily to treat diabetes, but can also be effective in weight loss. According to WebMD, Mounjaro can be classified similarly to Wegovy or Ozempic because all three all contain GLP-1, which assists in weight loss. Side effects can include nausea and diarrhea. In O'Donnell's case, she said that she started using Mounjaro to treat her diabetes and her weight loss came as a bonus. Other celebrities have also opened up about losing weight while using Mounjaro — including Mob Wives star Renee Graziano, The View's Whoopi Goldberg, and Amy Schumer. Keep scrolling for a look at some of the celebrities who have spoken publicly about using Mounjaro for weight loss: Every Real Housewife Who Has Addressed Ozempic Speculation: From Kyle Richards to Dolores Catania The former Rosie O'Donnell Show host proudly showed off her recent weight loss via Instagram in May 2025 and directly attributed her positive health news to using the weight loss medication. In a message captioned with the hashtag 'Mounjaro,' she wrote, 'I cant believe this is me now.' O'Donnell first announced to her TikTok followers in March 2025 that she was having success with the medication after her recent move from the U.S. to Ireland. 'I've lost more weight,' she announced. 'I am on Mounjaro for my diabetes and one of the side effects is you lose weight. But it's also because I had a chef for over two years in Los Angeles and I don't have a chef now. It's me cooking for [my child] Clay and me.' She went on, 'I'm one of those people who always had a weight issue and now that I'm a size large — instead of an XL or a XXL — I find it shocking. I really do. I find it completely shocking.' During a May 2024 appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the View moderator said Mounjaro helped her lose the weight of 'almost two people.' 'I'm doing that wonderful little shot that works for folks who need some help and it's been really good for me,' Goldberg reported to host Kelly Clarkson. Goldberg reflected on the creeping effect that weight gain can have, saying, 'You're living your life and you're doing what you need to do — and that's the last thing you're thinking about because you've got other stuff on your mind. When you realize it, you go, 'Well, damn.' And everyone says, 'Well, I thought you knew.'' The comedian shared with her Instagram followers in March 2024 that she was doing well on Mounjaro after having a less positive experience on Wegovy years earlier. 'Three years ago, I tried Wegovy. I was puking, I couldn't handle it. I don't know if they've changed the formula, whatever,' she said via Instagram. 'But anyway, I went on this Telehealth meeting with [virtual clinic] Midi Health, and it was cheap. I wanted to try it myself 'cause I wanted to recommend it to my friends who are nurses and teachers.' Schumer explained that, in addition to her use of the weight loss medication, her clinicians put her on 'estrogen and progesterone' because she was perimenopausal. Chelsea Handler, Kyle Richards and More Celebrities Who've Spoken About the Ozempic Weight Loss Trend 'My hair is fuller, my skin is better, I have more energy, I want to get down more, if you know what I mean. I'm talking about sex,' she joked. 'So that's been great and Mounjaro's been great.' She also noted, 'And, look, it's not covered by insurance unless you have diabetes or like severe obesity, which most of the internet thinks I have. But I'm having a really good experience with it and I wanted to keep it real with you about that.' The 'Woman Up' singer revealed on her 'Workin' On It' podcast in April 2025 that both she and husband Sabara started taking Mounjaro after welcoming son Riley in 2021. Trainor said that they went with Mounjaro over other weight-loss medications because they were told it 'had less side effects'. 'I also gained some [sympathy] pregnancy weight,' Sabara explained. 'We've been on this journey for a while and we learned how there are right ways to do it.' Trainor insisted she felt 'no shame' about using weight-loss injections, though she stressed that the couple simultaneously focused on portion control. Melissa Gorga Claims She's The Only 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' Star Not Taking Ozempic 'I've learned so much about portions,' Trainor noted. 'I'm like, 'Remember how big your stomach is.' I don't want to bug [Sabara] and I always do. He's like, 'Are you fat-shaming me?' I'm like, 'No, babe, I'm looking out for you.' Our eyes are hungrier than our stomachs. I blame where we live [because] the portion sizes are ridiculous.' She added, 'I learned all these little tricks that changed my life. I literally bought smaller plates 'cause I'm like, 'No, you can't put too much rice on there.' … I'm obsessed now with the science of when I work out and build muscle, you have to eat protein or else it's not going to do anything.' In February 2025, Disick candidly discussed his weight loss, and his use of Mounjaro, during an episode of The Kardashians. Khloé Kardashian asked Disick directly to clear up rumors after fans questioned whether there was a weight loss drug in his fridge during one scene. 'It shows the Mounjaro? You're lying!' he declared. 'Oh, f*** me running. By the way, I am not embarrassed that I took it! Everyone that has a problem with Mounjaro can suck my d***. And by the way, they can see it now because for a minute, you couldn't!' Disick explained that it was 'tough living that large,' with Kardashian soon coming to his defense over using a weight loss medication. 'You shouldn't be [embarrassed]! When I was fat, I would have drank that s***,' she said. 'I don't get the shame in it. You don't get it because you don't have these problems but when I was thicker, I took laxatives. I would take anything that anyone was pushing.' The former VH1 reality star credited her 52-pound weight loss, in part, to using Mounjaro after years of struggling with dieting. She mentioned that she'd also started using the 'right supplements,' in addition to 'doing all the work behind [her] insecurity.' 'I've battled self-criticism in the past! Ripped myself down to the ground!!' Graziano recalled in May 2025. 'I truly was so sick and tired of my life and my inability to lose weight so I thought I'd eat until I felt better THAT NEVER HAPPENED, I felt like I was constantly falling short—of how I 'should' look, feel, and keep up with what society tells us is acceptable.' She continued, 'That's why, when I see photos that show the real, visible change, my clear eyes and genuine smile, I have to share. I want everyone to know if I can do it, you can do it! It's all possible!!'

Cicadas attract pests, nearly invisible mites that bite and can cause a rash. What to know
The latest 17-year brood of cicadas is invading, bringing millions if not billions of the noisy insects to Cincinnati and southwest Ohio. While cicadas may be annoying — they're loud, they leave their nymph shells everywhere after molting and they may upset your pet's stomach if your dog gorges on them — the insects are harmless, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. They're even beneficial: They're a valuable food source for native wildlife, per ODNR, and the nymphs emerging from underground can help your lawn, according to The Nature Conservancy. However, cicadas can attract a pest, the oak leaf itch mite. And as the name suggests, these mites can cause an irritating rash in humans. Here's what to know. According to WebMD, these mites are nearly invisible to the naked eye, being about 0.2 mm long. They commonly feed on larvae of an oak gall midge, a type of fly, that lives on pin oak leaves. Starting in late July, these mites drop from the tree or are blown on the wind, landing on animals and humans. Their bites can cause an itchy rash of small red bumps that can be painful to scratch. The rashes can be intense. They're also known to feed on cicada eggs, per WebMD, and were linked to a 2007 outbreak of rashes in Chicago, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health, where the mites were feeding on 17-year cicada eggs. In 2021, the University of Maryland Extension found it likely that Brood X cicada eggs were likely the mite's food source for an outbreak of rashes in the Washington D.C. area, as reported by the Washington Post. If you develop a rash, an over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream or calamine lotion as well as antihistamines may help with the itch, per WebMD. Don't scratch; that may cause a bacterial infection. Controlling the mites on the trees is difficult, according to the PennState Extension. Sprays aren't effective because the mites are protected and hidden in leaf folds or galls. The use of insect repellent containing DEET has shown mixed results. "People can best protect themselves by limiting their time from under infested trees and by immediately removing and laundering clothing and then showering," PennState Extension writes. After 17 years underground, Brood XIV is emerging, and it will bring millions if not billions of the noisy insects to Southwest Ohio and a dozen other states this spring. Brood XIV is one of 15 recognized broods of periodical cicadas that emerge every 13 or 17 years, and one of four that appear in the Buckeye State, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. They emerge when the soil temperature reaches 64 degrees, which typically happens in the second half of May. Annual cicadas emerge worldwide each year, but periodical cicadas are found only in eastern North America. They live underground as nymphs for either 13 or 17 years before emerging above ground in massive numbers. Different populations of periodical cicadas are called 'broods' and are numbered with Roman numerals. Brood XIV cicadas will stretch from northern Georgia to Massachusetts. In Ohio, they will emerge in a more than dozen counties, per ODNR, mostly in Southwest Ohio: Adams Brown Butler Champaign Clermont Clinton Gallia Greene Hamilton Highland Jackson Lawrence Pike Ross Scioto Warren Washington They are active for three to four weeks as they focus on mating and reproduction, per ODNR. Male periodical cicadas produce a deafening chorus of calls to attract females. Once mated, female cicadas deposit their eggs into the branches of trees and shrubs.
