Falcons' Darnell Mooney: 'I didn't come here for 1,000 yards; I came here to win'
Wide receiver Darnell Mooney is entering his second season with the Atlanta Falcons, and he has one goal in mind: winning. "I didn't really come here [to Atlanta] for 1,000 yards. I came here to win," Mooney said Friday, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "So, for, you know, anybody that's like creating that as a top tier for the receivers, that's not what I came here to do. I came here to win games." Mooney totaled 64 receptions for 992 yards (a career-high 15.5 yards per reception) and a career-high five touchdowns last season. He ranked 36th among wide receivers with a 74.0 overall grade, according to Pro Football Focus. Mooney missed one game due to a shoulder injury, which was a Week 18 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. Mooney offered up analysis on his 2024 performance. "I did pretty well with the deep routes, and the biggest thing that I want to do is catch the ball and take something to the [end zone]," Mooney said. "Make at least three people miss, have some exciting plays." Mooney is entering the second season of a three-year, $39 million deal with the Falcons. The receiver spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Chicago Bears (2020-23), where he totaled 81 receptions for 1,055 yards and four touchdowns in 2021. Granted, Mooney averaged just 36 receptions for 454 receiving yards per season from 2022-23. Mooney is part of a Falcons' pass-catching corps that includes wide receivers Drake London — who totaled a career high in receptions (100), receiving yards (1,271) and receiving touchdowns (nine) in 2024 — and Ray-Ray McCloud (career-high with both 62 receptions and 686 receiving yards in 2024) and tight end Kyle Pitts. Atlanta also has star running back Bijan Robinson, who earned a Pro Bowl nod last season after rushing for 1,456 yards and 14 touchdowns, while tallying 431 receiving yards. Atlanta benched veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins for Michael Penix Jr., selected with the No. 8 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Washington, after 14 games. The Falcons went 1-2 with Penix under center and missed the playoffs with an 8-9 record. That said, Penix is Atlanta's future at quarterback, and Mooney is enthusiastic about what's to come with the second-year signal-caller. "He throws the ball very, very far," Mooney said about Penix. "He has a strong arm. He can get it out whenever he needs to. Like, if it feels like he's late, he won't be late. He can get the ball there in time." Want great stories delivered right to your inbox? John Harbaugh: I want to see Isaiah Likely be an All-Pro
Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely is entering the final year of his rookie deal, recently noting that he's focused on making plays happen rather than his contract. But if his head coach's vision comes to fruition, Likely will be in line for a big payday moving forward. 'I want to see [Likely] be an All-Pro,' John Harbaugh said in his press conference this week. 'That'd be my goal for him, and he's capable of it.' Likely has flashed his potential throughout his first three seasons. A fourth-round pick in 2022, he's been the second tight end to Mark Andrews for much of his career. In last year's season opener, he caught nine passes for 111 yards with a touchdown — and nearly had a second at the end of the game. But Likely didn't have another 100-yard game for the rest of the season. His top output was four catches for 75 yards in a Week 11 loss to the Steelers. He ended the year with 42 receptions for 477 yards with six touchdowns. Entering 2025, Likely said this week that he sees himself as a versatile piece for the offensive unit. 'I feel like in the offense, whether I'm out wide, in-line, in the backfield, anywhere, really just understanding [my job] and making plays where the plays really aren't there to be made,' Likely said of his expectations for the upcoming season. 'Just always trying to go the distance. Whether I catch a pass, whether I'm blocking down the field, always trying to make an explosive play happen while I'm on the field.' In 49 total games with 19 starts, Likely has 108 catches for 1,261 yards with 14 TDs.

KPDN week in Osaka Expo explores opportunities for international market expansion
PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Week at Expo 2025 Osaka in Japan focuses on opportunities to explore market expansion at the international level. In addition to strengthening strategic networks, KPDN's participation in the expo is an important manifestation of the whole-of-nation concept approach in helping KPDN fulfil its mandate more effectively, in line with the goals of MADANI Malaysia. 'The key events lined up throughout the KPDN Week at the expo include upholding the Retail Digitalisation Initiative (REDI) initiative, which has been chosen by the Japan Association for the 2025 Exposition, as the main organiser, to promote the theme for the week, that is 'The Future of Community and Mobility'. 'This initiative is showcased through sharing sessions by panellists under the topic 'Retail Digitalisation Initiative (ReDI): Driving Cashless Adoption and Technology in Rural Malaysia', the KPDN said in a statement today. The session also highlights the success of the government's strategic collaboration with industry players, namely Malaysian e-wallet providers like TNG Digital Sdn Bhd and Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet) as well as retain entrepreneur representatives in providing exposure to rural traders regarding operating businesses digitally. In addition to the REDI initiative and the involvement of strategic partners of e-wallet providers, the interactive approach at the KPDN booth also witnessed the presence of direct-selling industry players under the Direct Selling Association of Malaysia (DSAM) and Malaysia Direct Distribution Association (MDDA). 'The KPDN, as the regulator of this industry, also provides the KPDN Week platform to assist in promoting Malaysia's direct-selling products as well as connecting them with strategic partners in Japan to pave the way towards market access and collaborative networks,' it added. Meanwhile, the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO), which is an agency under KPDN, is also taking part in raising the visibility of the government's efforts in the protection and registration of intellectual property. This includes sharing innovative sketches of batik motifs using eco-friendly clay patented by MyIPO as well as the protection and registration of Geographical Indications such as the Melaka Nyonya Kebaya, Terengganu Copper and Selangor Wau Kapal. The KPDN added that the exhibition not only allows international visitors to get to know locally-made products but is an important step in upholding intellectual property as a catalyst for knowledge-based economic development that can attract investors. The six-month-long Osaka Expo runs from April 13-Oct 13 while the KPDN Week is from May 25-June 1.
