Man in hospital after car crashes into takeaway
A man has been taken to hospital after a car crashed into a Staffordshire takeaway. Police were called to the A50 Scotia Road in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, at about 06:00 BST on Sunday. Pictures from the scene reveal the front of the two-storey building has partially collapsed, with rubble lying on the street. Officers remain at the scene alongside colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service. Four people and toddler in hospital after Shropshire car crash
Five people, including a toddler, have been taken to hospital after a two vehicle crash on Wednesday Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called to Holyhead Road, Bicton, near Shrewsbury at 20:16 BST where two cars had been involved in a women and a female toddler were treated for potentially serious injuries, while two men were treated for injuries not thought to be were all taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by road. Police search for gunman after woman seriously injured in Dudley shooting
A search is underway for a gunman after a woman was shot in a West Midlands town shortly after midnight. Two shots were fired at a property on Priory Road in the market town of Dudley, with one seriously injuring a woman. She remains in hospital. Police were called following reports of a firearms discharge and have since launched a full investigation. 'We understand the concern in the community this incident will raise,' the West Midlands Police said. 'Officers will remain in the area and be carrying out reassurance patrols.' As of 10.30am this morning, Priory Road remained closed while officers continued their investigation. 'We were called to reports of a shooting at an address on Priory Road in Dudley at 12.16am this morning and sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and the Midlands Air Ambulance critical care car from Cosford to the scene,' the West Midlands Ambulance Service said in a statement. 'On arrival, crews found a woman who they treated for serious injuries, before conveying her under emergency driving conditions to hospital.' Police are urging any witnesses or residents with dashcam or doorbell footage to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting log 66 of 3 July.

Onlookers left 'in tears' as young child dies after being air lifted to hospital and police descend on street close to school
A young child has died after police descended on a street near a school in front of 'tearful' onlookers. Photos taken at Woodland Street in Biddulph, North Staffordshire, show an ambulance parked where emergency services arrived on scene yesterday afternoon. Three uniformed officers and two marked cars with flashing lights were positioned in the entrance to a school, Our Lady of Grace Catholic Academy, locals said. An air ambulance took off after landing on playing fields off Church Road but police later confirmed an unidentified youth had died. An eye witness told StokeonTrentLive: 'There's lots of people here and some of them are tearful. 'There's no cordon or police tape anywhere but there is a PCSO stationed outside a home. There's also two car with their lights flashing on the grounds of the school.' A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: 'We were called at 2.50pm on Sunday to a property in Biddulph. 'A child was taken to hospital by air ambulance. Sadly, the child was pronounced dead by doctors a short time later. 'The child's next of kin are aware and are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time.' West Midlands Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.

Lorry crashes into car in Wolverhampton after driver taken ill
A lorry crashed into a car in Wolverhampton after the driver of the HGV became unwell behind the wheel. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and an air ambulance attended the scene on Penn Road at 09:14 BST on Friday, where three people were treated. The driver of the car was taken to New Cross Hospital for potentially serious injuries, while a boy was assessed by paramedics and discharged at the scene. West Midlands Ambulance Service said the lorry driver had suffered a suspected medical episode and following treatment, was also taken to hospital.
