Sally is on the warpath in Coronation Street after Tim hides a secret from her
Coronation Street couple Sally and Tim Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor and Joe Duttine) are at loggerheads in upcoming episodes when Sally discovers Tim has been making some potentially life-changing decisions without consulting her first. Recently, Tim proposed the idea that he and Sally could become foster parents. This idea initially came out of a tragedy. At the beginning of this year the couple were devastated when Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan), a troubled boy they'd been allowing to stay in their home, was brutally killed by his own brother. Tim had found Mason sleeping in their shed, and when he initially started to help him it was on the condition that Sally shouldn't find out. However, when she did find out about it she eventually came round to Tim's view that all Mason needed was a bit of help and someone on his side. Sadly the couple were ultimately unable to save Mason. More recently Tim's parental, caring side surfaced again when he looked after Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty)'s daughters Shanice and Joanie, after Lou was attacked by her husband Mick (Joe Layton). Tim had gone to pick Lou and the girls up in his cab, but on seeing that Lou was wounded he insisted on taking her to A&E. When Lou did a runner from the hospital, Tim was left with the girls. He took them home and looked after them and also offered Lou a place to stay for the night after she reappeared. In upcoming episodes, with Shanice and Joanie having gone back home, Sally tells Tim it's nice to have the house to themselves again. Sally has done her child-rearing years with her own daughters, Rosie (Helen Flanagan) and Sophie (Brooke Vincent), and she's ready for a peaceful life in a nice tidy house complete with conservatory. Tim, however, feels strongly that he could make a difference to children in need by being a foster parent, so he secretly sets up a meeting to push the plan forward. More Trending Unluckily for him, Sally pops back home just before his meeting is due, and finds him in his best shirt. Even more suspiciously, he's tidied the house up and it's looking immaculate. Obviously Sally is immediately wary and wants to know what he's up to. Even though Tim's evasive about what's going on, only moments later the doorbell rings and Sally finds a social worker on the doorstep. Sally is livid that Tim has taken this enormous step without her knowledge. He tries to make things right with her, but she's too angry and refuses to listen. The Emmerdale moment Ruby hands herself in to the police in new spoiler video
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) has convinced herself that time is up in this new Emmerdale video. On Friday, Ruby, Caleb Miligan (William Ash), Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) learnt from Kyle (Huey Quinn) that divers at the lake had found a dead body. The group immediately assumed that it was Anthony Fox, and that John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) put his body in the lake after Ruby killed him. Ruby will decide in upcoming episodes that the only solution will be for her to hand herself in. She doesn't want to put Caleb in the position of being on the run for the rest of his life and decides the best thing is to confess. She leaves her husband a note and heads to the police station. In this new clip, Ruby tells the detective that her dad abused her repeatedly for years. She confirms that she told her mother, but she was never believed. Ruby ensures that Caleb isn't embroiled in her statement, but she's thrown when the officer in charge announces that they need to take another break because a solicitor is on their way. More Trending Caleb hopes that his solicitor will be able to find a way to keep them all out of prison, but Chas is panicking at the thought that all of them are about to be exposed as conspirators in Anthony's death and the disposal of his body. She hides the note that Ruby left for Caleb as the police arrive to question him. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? Dee-Dee gets a major shock as unexpected Corrie return changes everything
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) went through a rollercoaster of emotions in Coronation Street after she discovered she was pregnant. The father of the baby was her former fiancé, evil Joel Deering (Calum Lill), and Dee-Dee couldn't cope with the idea that she was carrying the child of someone who'd done such terrible things. She only went through with the pregnancy because her child could potentially be a life-saving bone marrow donor for Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton)'s son Frankie. After a horrific birth experience during which she lost a lot of blood and had to have a hysterectomy, Dee-Dee had to come to terms with the news that she wouldn't be able to have any more children. She was also determined to do something about the racism she encountered from the maternity department. As for the baby, Laila, she'd decided early on that she would give her up for adoption. Arrangements were made for her brother James (Jason Callender) and his partner Danny to adopt the baby. They were unable to take Laila straight away, so the Bailey family cared for Laila in the meantime. However this meant that Dee-Dee spent more time with her and she realised she was becoming attached to her. People she confided in, such as Eileen (Sue Cleaver) and Alya (Sair Khan), insisted it wasn't too late for her to decide to keep the baby. Alya said that James would forgive her eventually and she should follow her heart. Despite this advice, Dee-Dee told James that she wanted him to take Laila back to America with him – and the sooner the better. Even so, she was devastated as she watched her brother leaving the Street with her baby. More Trending In episodes airing soon, Dee-Dee is focusing on work and her campaign to ensure better training for midwives. She tells Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) that she's taken on a custody case, and her dad worries that the similarities with her own situation make it a difficult subject for her to be dealing with. Dee-Dee tells Daniel (Rob Mallard) that she's certain she made the right decision in giving Laila to James and Danny to bring up, but her family are less convinced and hope she doesn't end up regretting her decision. That is about to be put to the test because, as Dee-Dee and Daniel head out of the bistro a taxi pulls up – and James gets out, carrying Laila. Emmerdale favourite cuts ties with family after showdown and a legend is gutted
Ross Barton (Michael Parr) was left quietly gutted in tonight's Emmerdale, as Lewis (Bradley Riches) decided he no longer wanted anything to do with him. Yesterday, Lewis learnt the truth about his mum's death. Shortly after his arrival, he was told by Ross and Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) that Adam Barton pushed Emma from a bridge, but he's always wondered if that was actually true. An accidental slip up from Ross allowed Lewis to work out that their aunt Moira actually killed Emma. In an attempt to stop Lewis from going to the police, Ross called Moira back to Butlers and together, they tried to explain to the new face exactly who his mum really was. Unfortunately, Lewis reacted in a way that caused even more problems for Ross and Moira. He believed that his unwell mother deserved justice, and that he should go to the police. Just as he prepared to leave though, Ross told Lewis that if he did anything, he would tell the police about the cannabis farm in his loft. Blackmailing a brother you've known for five minutes certainly isn't a wise idea but Ross' loyalty lies with Moira, he was always going to do his best to protect her. More Trending Frustrated and backed into a corner, Lewis announced to Ross tonight that he doesn't want a brother who manipulates him. He walked away and Ross suggested that he didn't have a problem with Lewis leaving. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? Back at Butlers though, Ross was clearly gutted about the fallout with Lewis. When they first met, Ross wasn't fussed about his new brother, but they ended up connecting and having a laugh. Lewis also reminded Ross of his late brother Finn, who was shot by their mum. If Lewis returns, can Ross rebuild their connection? Major EastEnders star almost quit acting until she landed role in BBC soap
Laura Doddington has revealed she considered a career change (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes) EastEnders star Laura Doddington is already making quite the impact on Albert Square as her troubled character Nicola Mitchell. Across the last month we've seen her try and conceal the fact she murdered son Harry's (Elijah Holloway) ex-girlfriend Shireen. He subsequently learnt the truth in episodes that aired this week, and on the very same day it was revealed to husband Teddy (Roland Manookian) that he isn't the father of their youngest son Barney (Lewis Bridgeman). After an explosive argument in front of their neighbours, the family returned home and resumed normality. But something tells us it won't be long for things to kick off again! The actress, 44, has appeared in Doctors, Casualty and Holby City, as well as in one episode of the BBC's flagship soap in 2009. It wasn't until November when she stepped into Walford as a regular, and now the star has revealed she almost gave up the acting profession had she not landed the part. Speaking to The Mirror, Laura explained that she considered retraining as a hairdresser. She joined the cast as Nicola Mitchell in November (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) Laura has already plunged into some huge storylines for her character (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes) 'The industry is hard at the moment' she said. 'Before this audition came through, I'd been looking at retraining to do something else, I've got a young kid. And that makes you think about their future and stability for them. 'I cut my son's hair and I'm sort of reasonably good at it, so I thought that might be an option. 'I was in Prime Suspect when I was in my 20s and The Midwich Cuckoos, but they weren't massive parts. I was beginning to think it might not be possible to have that lead role.' She continued: 'Unfortunately in this industry when you get to over the age of about 35 and you haven't made a name for yourself, the interesting roles sort of start drying up. It's just the way that it is and the way the world is a little bit. Follow Metro Soaps on WhatsApp and get all the latest spoilers first! Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? 'That's why I love soaps and continuing dramas as they champion individuals of all ages and put characters at the heart of storytelling.'
