We Could See Way More Silver Surfer in the MCU After ‘Fantasic Four: First Steps'
Nathan Fillion was desperate for Guy Gardner to have his comics haircut in Superman. The Rani gets her own sonic screwdriver in a new clip from next week's Doctor Who. Plus, Milly Alcock offers an update on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Spoilers get! Silver Surfer According to a new report from insider Daniel Richtman, 'there are plans for Silver Surfer [to] be in multiple projects after [The Fantastic Four: First Steps] including a solo film.' Superman In conversation with ET, Nathan Fillion stared he's 'really, really been jonesing' for Guy Gardener's comic book-accurate bowl cut in Superman. I'm a comic book nerd from a long time back. I knew for some time that I was going to be playing the role, and I have really, really, been jonesing for a bowl-cut. And here it is, this is it, it's everything. I'm up there rubbing elbows with Superman, Hawkgirl, Mr. [Terrific]…It's all my dreams coming true. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow Production has officially wrapped on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, according to Milly Alcock on The Tonight Show. Whistle Deadline reports Shudder and the Independent Film Company have acquired the U.S. rights to Whistle, a new horror film from The Nun director, Corin Hardy, concerning an Aztec death whistle. Starring Dafne Keen, Sophie Nélisse, Sky Yang, Percy Hynes White and Nick Frost, the story concerns 'a misfit group of unwitting high school [who] students stumble upon a cursed object, an ancient Aztec Death Whistle. Soon, they discover that blowing the whistle and the terrifying sound it emits will summon their future deaths to hunt them down. As the body count rises, the friends investigate the origins of the deadly artifact in a desperate effort to stop the horrifying chain of events that they have set in motion.' Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival (via Variety), Guillermo del Toro stated his upcoming Frankenstein project is 'not a horror movie.' Somebody asked me the other day, does it have really scary scenes? For the first time, I considered that. It's an emotional story for me. It's as personal as anything. I'm asking a question about being a father, being a son… I'm not doing a horror movie — ever. I'm not trying to do that. We're finding the emotion. And what I can say is, for me, it's an incredibly emotional movie. Netminder takes the plaudits at Belfast Giants' end of season awards
The Great Britain international started the season as back-up to Tom McCollum at the SSE Arena but quickly won the starter's jersey and led the team to Elite League and Challenge Cup glory with a .923 save percentage and 2.17 goals against average in the regular season. Whistle was in net as the Giants shut out the Cardiff Devils in the Cup Final last month and then produced two excellent performances on the final weekend of the season against the Nottingham Panthers to clinch the League. The 29-year-old, who will now head off on World Championships duty where he will compete for the starter's job with Ben Bowns, also claimed the Official Supporters' Club's Player of the Year award and the Fans Favourite accolade. Only two other players walked away with multiple awards on the night, with English forwards Scott Conway and Ciaran Long claiming two apiece at the awards do at the SSE Arena. After a campaign that saw him score 33 goals and 72 points, Conway took home Forward of the Year to go along with his Leading Points Scorer crown, while Cup-winning goal scorer Long was awarded both the Players' Player of the Season and Unsung Hero gongs. Defenceman of the Year went to Josh Roach as he combined strong defensive play with some key offensive contributions, too, chipping in with six goals and 39 points from the blue-line. Only one player in his first season with the Giants was recognised at the awards do as, after finishing fourth in the League in +/- with a +35 rating, defenceman Bo Hanson was named Coaches' Player of the Year. There was also recognition for two of the Giants' longest serving players as captain Mark Cooper and defenceman Jeff Baum were handed trophies on the night as well. Second-year captain Cooper led from the front, recording 27 goals and 60 points including scoring in both championship winning games to lift his first two trophies as skipper, which saw him awarded the Ian Barton Award for hardest working player. And Baum, last season's MVP, was given the President's Award in honour of the player that most embodies the values of the organisation, the American defenceman having been central to the team's prolonged success since first joining in 2021.

Before the playoffs, the laundry: how Celtics' Al Horford, Amelia Vega get it done
Before the playoffs, the laundry: how Celtics' Al Horford, Amelia Vega get it done It is no secret that the unofficial team dad of the Boston Celtics, Al Horford, is a family man. But we don't often get a window into what the dynamics of that relationship is like with his family, save for when they are on the sidelines showing support for their champion forward of a father and husband, at least until a recent segment came out highlighting how he and wife Amelia Vega tackle the quotidian aspects of life in the form of dirty laundry. The duo sat down with the folks behind the global sports streamer DAZN, via their "Whistle" YouTube channel, to put together a clip on their clothes-cleaning family dynamics with a guest appearance by Boston broadcaster and champion Celtics center Brian Scalabrine. Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about how laundry gets done in the Horford household! If you enjoy this pod, check out the "How Bout Them Celtics," "First to the Floor," "Celtics Lab," and the many other New England sports podcasts available on the CLNS Media network.
