The 'Wicked: For Good' trailer is coming to select theaters Wednesday

Grab your broomstick and your bestie: Wicked is returning to theaters on Wednesday, June 4, and it's bringing the trailer for Wicked: For Good along with it. The first part of the Broadway musical adaptation hit theaters on Nov. 22, 2024, to critical and commercial acclaim. The final half of the two-part film is slated to arrive in theaters almost exactly one year later, on Nov. 21, 2025. But the Wizard of Oz prequel, which stars Cynthia Erivo as 'Wicked Witch' Elphaba and Ariana Grande as the supposedly 'good' witch Glinda, is so highly anticipated that even the premiere of its trailer was announced alongside these special one-night screenings taking place in North American theaters this week. The screenings are scheduled to happen simultaneously across all U.S. time zones, so everyone can watch the trailer at the same time, no matter where they are. They're slated for this Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET, 5 p.m. CT, 4 p.m. MT, and 3 p.m. PT. After the live screenings, the trailer will be available for all to watch online. The Wicked screenings are not specific to any theater chain. You can look up screenings in your area here. Wicked: For Good picks up after Elphaba defied gravity on her broomstick and narrowly escaped the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum) and Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh) in order to save the animals subjugated by their tyrannical rule. Meanwhile, Elphaba's best friend, Glinda — afraid to give up her social status — chose to stay behind rather than join in on her mission. Wicked: For Good places Glinda and Elphaba on opposite sides of major drama in Oz, with Glinda — who is still dating prince Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey) — acting as the Wizard's spokesperson. Meanwhile, the Wizard's henchmen are seeking to find and kill Elphaba, who all of Oz now considers 'wicked' thanks to good old-fashioned propaganda. How will this story end? Well, if you saw The Wizard of Oz, you probably think you know — with Dorothy and company dousing poor Elphie with water and killing her. Yet Wicked: For Good may surprise you — at least, if you haven't seen the musical.

Ariana Grande to star opposite Robert De Niro in ‘Meet the Parents 4'

Months after earning an Oscar nomination for her performance in Wicked, pop star Ariana Grande has finally found her next project. The Grammy-winning singer is set to join Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller in the newest instalment of Universal's comedy movie series, Meet the Parents 4, according to The Hollywood Reporter. According to sources, Blythe Danner and Teri Polo, who also starred in the initial trio of movies released during the first decade of the 2000s, are expected to return, although those deals have yet to close. John Hamburg, who co-wrote all three prior films, wrote the screenplay for the new feature and is set to direct. Universal has set the release date for the film for November 25, 2026. The conceit of the first movie was simple: the universal life event of having your future father-in-law give his blessing to a marriage proposal. Combining combustible chemistry in a bottle with spot-on directing, the movie became a commercial and critical hit when it was released in 2000. While much of the plot details remain under wraps, it has been revealed that one point revolves around the son of Stiller and Polo's characters, who gets engaged to a ball-busting woman who seems all wrong for him. Sources say Grande will play the fiancee. Jane Rosenthal and De Niro are producing through their Tribeca Productions. Roach will produce through his Delirious Media. Executive VP of Production Development Matt Reilly and Director of Production Development Jacqueline Garell will oversee the project for Universal. Grande next appears on the big screen, reprising Glinda in Wicked: For Good, which arrives in theatres on November 21, 2025.

My movie mole said: 'Filming wrapped in January last year for work on both movies because they were shot at the same time. 'But the second film is a lot more complex than the first, and it quickly became clear in the edit that they needed everyone back. 'It has cost hundreds of thousands of pounds more to bring the team together again but it's vital for the film to make sense. 'The first film did so well that there's even more pressure on this one to succeed. 'Despite it being a headache to find a date which worked for everyone's busy schedules, Ariana and Cynthia couldn't be happier to get back into costume one more time. 'They have made it clear they'd move heaven and earth to make it a success. 'It's out in November though, so the team has a race on their hands to get it finished in time.' The two-film project is based on the Broadway musical and the first instalment made more than £660million at the box office, becoming one of 2024's biggest cinema hits. That film ended with Cynthia's character Elphaba turning against the Wizard of Oz and her pal Galinda, played by Ariana. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo bring Oscars A-listers to tears after emotional Defying Gravity in Wicked opening medley And there will be even more drama in the next movie, which a handful of new songs have been written for to bolster the soundtrack. Speaking about it in February, Ariana said: 'It's very special. It's very emotional. 'I think the second movie really embodies unconditional love and forgiveness and friendship. And you'll have to wait and see, but it is quite different.' The countdown is on.
