Ariana Grande sets off on ‘Wicked: For Good' promotions in Elie Saab gown

DUBAI: US singer, songwriter and actor Ariana Grande is back in the spotlight as she kicks off the press tour for her highly anticipated film 'Wicked: For Good' — and her first promotional look has fans enchanted. For the latest updates, follow us on Instagram @ The Grammy-winning star took to Instagram to unveil a series of photos from the film's promo, styled by celebrity favorite Law Roach. For the occasion, Grande stepped out in an archival Elie Saab Haute Couture gown from 2004. The pale yellow-green creation, delicately embellished with lavender floral appliques, offered a romantic, weightless silhouette that nodded to her character Glinda's ethereal charm — without tipping into costume territory. She paired the gown with cream-toned heels and understated diamond jewelry for a touch of sparkle. Makeup artist Matthew Anthony completed the look with a soft glam palette — pink eyeshadow, diffused cat-eye liner, rosy lips, and sculpted cheeks — while her hair, worn in a sleek half-up, half-down style, framed her face elegantly. Grande is no stranger to Arab fashion talent. In 2023 she was photographed wearing Lebanese designer Andrea Wazen's Double Jeu platform heels in white while filming 'Wicked.' The singer-actor has long championed Middle Eastern designers on and off the red carpet. The 32-year-old shared behind-the-scenes snaps from the set, including moments with co-star Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba. In one shot, Grande — sporting platinum blonde hair in a ponytail — wore a pink polka-dot dress and white elbow-length gloves, channeling vintage glamour. 'Wicked: For Good,' which is set for release in November, continues the beloved saga, following Elphaba in exile and Glinda basking in the grandeur of Emerald City. The star-studded cast includes Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Michelle Yeoh, and Marissa Bode. Speaking to Harper's Bazaar about returning as Glinda, a role she previously portrayed on stage, Grande called it 'such a homecoming for me… I feel like I came home to myself.' If her opening look is any indication, this press tour promises a spellbinding mix of cinematic magic and high-fashion moments.

WICKED: FOR GOOD Gets a Behind the Scenes Featurette and New Character Posters — GeekTyrant

Two new character posters have been released for the highly-anticipated sequel, Wicked: For Good , featuring the film's stars, Ariana Grande, who plays Glinda, and Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba. We also have a new behind the scenes featurette for you to check out that takes us on the set of the film, letting us hear about the story from the stars, as well as the director, Jon M. Chu. In the sequel: 'Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), now demonized as The Wicked Witch of the West, lives in exile, hidden within the Ozian forest while continuing her fight for the freedom of Oz's silenced Animals and desperately trying to expose the truth she knows about The Wizard (Jeff Goldblum). 'Glinda, meanwhile, has become the glamorous symbol of Goodness for all of Oz, living at the palace in Emerald City and reveling in the perks of fame and popularity. Under the instruction of Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh), Glinda is deployed to serve as an effervescent comfort to Oz, reassuring the masses that all is well under the rule of The Wizard. 'As Glinda's stardom expands and she prepares to marry Prince Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey) in a spectacular Ozian wedding, she is haunted by her separation from Elphaba. She attempts to broker a conciliation between Elphaba and The Wizard, but those efforts will fail, driving Elphaba and Glinda only further apart. 'The aftershocks will transform Boq (Ethan Slater) and Fiyero forever, and threaten the safety of Elphaba's sister, Nessarose (Marissa Bode), when a girl from Kansas comes crashing into all their lives. 'As an angry mob rises against the Wicked Witch, Glinda and Elphaba will need to come together one final time. With their singular friendship now the fulcrum of their futures, they will need to truly see each other, with honesty and empathy, if they are to change themselves, and all of Oz, for good.' Wicked: For Good is set to hit theaters on November 21st. While we wait, check out the new posters and featurette below:

I Just Found Out Ariana Grande And Wicked: For Good's Jon M. Chu Set Their Next Film, And There's Frozen Talent Involved

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. There's no way around the fact that the 2025 movie schedule has a hell of a hit in store with Wicked: For Good's November release. Part of the magic making that possible is, of course, the rockstar efforts of director Jon M. Chu and co-lead Ariana Grande, both of whom are well-regarded musical vets. So what could possibly make their reteaming on another song filled adventure even more exciting? How about a Frozen co-star, and the 2017 Oscar winning songwriters behind La La Land? Hyping Chu's 2028's adaptation of Oh, The Places You'll Go, Warner Bros has doubled down on the Dr. Seuss of it all on social media. Announcing Grande's casting, alongside Josh 'Olaf the Snowman' Gad and the inclusion of musical duo Benj Pasek & Justin Paul, you can see the good news about Oh, The Places You'll Go in the post below: Now if that isn't a team for the ages, I don't know what is. The Ariana Grande/Josh Gad team should go a long way towards selling audiences on Oh, The Places You'll Go, and for one big reason. Unlike previous Dr. Seuss adaptations like How The Grinch Stole Christmas, The Cat in the Hat, or Horton Hears a Who, there isn't really a rigid narrative in play. The 1990 children's book is one that has more of a message than a plotline, which sees its protagonist go on a journey that teaches them to be curious and open to wherever one can go next in life. A staple for graduation gifts of all ages, it's a positive journey that could very easily involve quirky supporting characters, Oscar-nominated songs, and a colorful landscape of adventure. Of course, it's hard to call who'd be the protagonist and who'd be the sidekick here, as Ariana Grande and Josh Gad are equally fit for both roles. We don't know much about the story, although we do know there will be singing; for all we know, Jon M. Chu is encouraging his leads to warm up their voices as we speak. I know 2028 feels like a long time out, but considering the recent teaser for The Cat in the Hat, Warner Bros. has picked a pretty smart time to hype its Seussian Cinematic Universe. Oh, and the fact that the Bill Hader-led reel of footage is running in the same Superman pre-show package that includes Wicked: For Good's first trailer probably helps boost this move's powers as well. Oh, The Places You'll Go will arrive at its final cinematic destination on March 17, 2028. Two much closer pictures to look forward to are The Cat in the Hat, which opens on February 27 as part of the 2026 movie calendar, and of course Wicked: For Good – which is set for a much closer release date of November 21.
