Private aviation in Texas: Your guide to ownership, charter and tax-smart strategy

In July 2025, the landscape of private aviation shifted in favor of buyers and business owners with the reinstatement of 100% bonus depreciation under the newly enacted tax provisions allowing for full expensing of capital equipment. This powerful tax incentive allows individuals and businesses to fully deduct the purchase price of new or pre-owned aircraft in the year it's placed in service—offering immediate tax relief and unlocking significant savings. For Texans exploring private aviation, the timing couldn't be better. Combined with rising inventory in the used jet market and Wing Aviation's trusted expertise, this moment presents a rare window to elevate your travel strategy and maximize long-term value. Aircraft Ownership: For the frequent business traveler Aircraft ownership is ideal for individuals or companies that fly frequently. Beyond the convenience and control of flying on your own schedule, ownership opens the door to a custom-tailored travel experience, complete with dedicated crew and personalized amenities. A major financial advantage in 2025 is the return of the recent legislation bringing back first-year 100% depreciation for aircraft acquisitions. Aircraft used for business purposes can now be fully expensed in the first year of ownership, significantly reducing taxable income. Wing Aviation works alongside each client's tax and legal advisors to structure purchases appropriately, to assist in ensuring IRS compliance and maximizing this benefit. Aircraft owners can also use charter revenue to offset ownership costs. When the aircraft is not in personal use, Wing's in-house charter sales team can efficiently market the aircraft to qualified charter clients, helping owners recoup fixed costs and improve utilization. In addition to 100% bonus depreciation, aircraft buyers in 2025 may also benefit from enhanced Section 179 expensing, which now allows up to $2.5 million in immediate deductions for aircraft purchases under $6.5 million. This provision is especially advantageous for small to midsize business owners who may not fully utilize bonus depreciation. When strategically combined with local tax planning—such as favorable Texas property tax treatment under Part 135—these federal deductions can further improve the overall return on aircraft ownership. Used aircraft inventory levels are on the rise, giving buyers more choices and greater negotiating power than we've seen in recent years. With more high-quality pre-owned jets entering the market, now is an ideal time to purchase—especially when combined with incentives like 100% bonus depreciation. Whether you're upgrading or acquiring your first aircraft, the current market conditions present a strategic opportunity to secure the right jet at the right value. Wing Aviation provides critical support during the pre-buy phase of an aircraft acquisition, offering the technical expertise buyers need to make confident, informed decisions. Our maintenance team works closely with trusted MRO partners to conduct thorough pre-purchase inspections, evaluate maintenance history, and identify any red flags that could affect long-term value or airworthiness. By helping buyers understand the true condition of an aircraft—and negotiating any needed corrections—we help minimize the transaction risk and accelerate the closing process. With Wing on your side, you can move forward knowing you've found the right aircraft, backed by expert guidance every step of the way. Once an aircraft is acquired, Wing Aviation becomes a trusted partner in managing the asset with precision, transparency, and expertise. Our full-service aircraft management program is designed to protect your investment, streamline operations, and ensure total peace of mind. From day one, our team handles every detail—recruiting and training professional flight crews, coordinating maintenance and inspections, managing compliance with FAA regulations, and overseeing flight logistics 24/7. We provide customized financial reporting with full transparency, allowing owners to track operating costs, fuel usage, and charter revenue in real time through our digital Owner Portal. For those seeking to offset expenses, Wing's in-house charter sales team can market and manage the aircraft under Part 135, generating supplemental income without compromising control. We tailor our management services to meet the specific needs of each owner and aircraft type, offering personalized support that reflects our deep operational experience and unwavering commitment to safety. With Wing Aviation, owners gain more than a management company—they gain a strategic partner dedicated to maximizing aircraft performance, value, and availability. Let Wing Aviation simplify aircraft ownership with proactive aircraft management and tax-savvy planning tailored to your needs. expand Fractional Ownership For those exploring private aviation, fractional ownership can seem like an appealing middle ground between full aircraft ownership and on-demand charter. This model allows individuals or businesses to purchase a share of an aircraft—typically ranging from 1/16 to 1/2—in exchange for a set number of flight hours each year. With guaranteed access and predictable scheduling, fractional programs are often marketed as a simplified way to enjoy private jet travel without the full responsibilities of ownership. While this option does provide some level of consistency and convenience, it's important to weigh the long-term costs, operational restrictions, and tax implications—especially when more flexible and financially efficient alternatives may be available through trusted operators like Wing Aviation. High Upfront and Ongoing Costs: Fractional programs often require a significant initial investment, along with recurring management fees and per-hour charges that can add up quickly – often driving up hourly expenses beyond what most pay through direct ownership or charter. Lack of Flexibility: Users may face scheduling restrictions, especially during peak times, and may not always fly on the same aircraft type or configuration. This reduces the personalized experience that many private flyers value. Exit Challenges: Selling a fractional share can be difficult and often comes with resale restrictions or reduced liquidity. Wing Aviation Alternative: In contrast, Wing Aviation offers more flexible and transparent options—whether it's full aircraft management for owners who want to capitalize on bonus depreciation, or on-demand charter services without the long-term commitment of a fractional program. Looking into private jet ownership? Wing Aviation offers expert aircraft management to help you maximize your experience. expand On-Demand Charter: If You are Not ready for Aircraft Ownership Chartering is the most flexible and cost-effective way to experience private aviation without committing to ownership. Potential Alphabet (GOOGL) and OpenAI Deal Could Shift Dynamics in AI Race

Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL) is one of the 10 best tech stocks to buy according to billionaires right now. On Tuesday, June 10, Reuters reported that OpenAI is partnering with Google Cloud to meet its growing need for computing power, citing three sources familiar with the matter. As both these companies are seen as competitors in AI space, this collaboration is a bit surprising, especially, since OpenAI's ChatGPT has long been seen as disruptor for Google's search business. However, the agreement was finalized in May and brings Google into OpenAI's expanding network of infrastructure providers as it scales training and deployment of advanced AI models. Pixabay/Public Domain Google Cloud aims to position itself as a flexible and neutral platform for handling high-performance computing workloads, responding to growing industry demand for infrastructure. As per Reuters, a key factor in securing this agreement was the company's decision to open access to its proprietary Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) for external partners. While one of Reuters' sources mentioned that the deal was finalized in May (after months of discussion), none of the concerned companies has agreed to comment on Reuters' queries. Earlier last week, Wing Aviation LLC, a subsidiary of Alphabet, announced its plan to expand 'Wing' drone delivery to an additional 100 Walmart stores across selected markets. The companies have highlighted this as world's largest drone delivery expansion. On the announcement, Greg Cathey, SVP, Walmart U.S. Transformation and Innovation, stated: 'As we look ahead, drone delivery will remain a key part of our commitment to redefining retail. We're pushing the boundaries of convenience to better serve our customers, making shopping faster and easier than ever before.' Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL) is the parent company of Google and a pioneer in internet-related services and products, including online advertising technologies, search engines, cloud computing, software, and hardware. The company is also a leading investor in data centers and fiber networks, operating a vast global network of data centers that support its cloud services and other digital offerings.
