Jessica Simpson Handled Her Wardrobe Malfunction on ‘The Today Show' Like a Champ

While most people might know Jessica Simpson from her successful shoe line or her infamously iconic 'Is this chicken, or is this fish?' question on her Y2K-era reality show with her ex-husband, Nick Lachey, let us remind you that she's somewhat of a pop culture icon thanks to her film and music career. This year, Jessica has been making her musical comeback with a slew of singles and a new EP, Nashville Canyon, Pt. 1, which means she's also made her way back to center stage. The multihyphenate made a rare appearance during the July 23 episode of The Today Show, where she performed fan-favorite tracks like 'With You' and 'I Think I'm in Love With You,' along with her latest single, 'Fade.' Of course, during one of her first TV gigs in nearly 15 years, Jessica faced an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction when her satin corseted gown slipped down to reveal a pink bra. The Dukes of Hazzard alum walked it off like a champ, though, as she seamlessly pulled her dress back in place mid-performance. After her performance, she even joked about the incident with the Today hosts, saying, 'Of course I had a malfunction here and everywhere, but it's okay. I think my boobs stayed in, so it's okay.' Her Today appearance comes after her American Idol season 23 finale performance, which marked her first TV performance after a nearly 15-year hiatus. She gushed about the 'insane' opportunity to return to her musical roots, and admitted that she was a little nervous to get back out there. 'Today it was like, 'Okay, get out of your head. Get out of your head. Who cares if your shoe falls off? Who cares if you forget a lyric?'' she explained. 'Honestly, it's just about being able to be up there and be vulnerable and that feels really beautiful.' She also sat down for an interview with Jenna Bush Hager, where she opened up about the emotions that making music brings out of her following her divorce from Eric Johnson. 'You can find blessings in the pain,' she explained. The 'Irresistible' hitmaker added, 'You can find beauty in the pain, and I think I want my daughters and my son to know that. No matter what we go through in life, nothing can take us long as we know who we are and we know our purpose. We're guided by that.' MK Stalin Declared 'Healthy' After Heart Procedure, To Resume Office Duty In 2 Days

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, who was admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on Monday after experiencing giddiness during his routine morning walk, underwent a therapeutic procedure this afternoon and his reports turned out normal, according to an official statement by the hospital. "The Chief Minister is healthy and is expected to resume his normal routine in two days' time," the statement signed by Dr. Anil B G, Director of Medical Services at Apollo Hospitals, noted. Based on the evaluation by a team of medical experts led by senior cardiologist Dr G Sengottuvelu, the 71-year-old leader underwent a diagnostic angiogram, and was found to be normal, confirming no serious cardiac complications. The hospital stated that the giddiness was caused by variations in heart rate. Meanwhile, visuals released by the Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday showed the Chief Minister actively conducting official work from his hospital room. Dressed in a blue checked shirt and lungi with a towel over his shoulder, Mr Stalin was seen holding a video conference with collectors from Kanyakumari, Kancheepuram, and Coimbatore districts to review the progress of the "Ungaludan Stalin" (Stalin With You) grievance camps that take government services to doorsteps of the people. He also spoke directly with several beneficiaries via video call, instructing senior officials to follow up on their requests. Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma. Subramanian had earlier said the chief minister walked 1.5 km within the hospital on Tuesday and was doing well. Mr Stalin's elder brother and former Union Minister M K Alagiri also visited him at the hospital and confirmed he was recovering well. Due to his condition, the chief minister had cancelled public meetings including a visit to a temple-run college, the swearing-in ceremony of the new Chief Justice of the Madras High Court, and a visit to Tiruppur.

Jessica Simpson rolls with wardrobe malfunction on 'Today' show

Jessica Simpson might have stepped away from music for more than a decade, but she's still a pro who keeps her cool on stage. The multi-hyphenate "A Public Affair" singer, 45, rolled with the punches when she experienced a minor wardrobe malfunction while performing on the "Today" show's Citi Concert Series Wednesday, July 23. While performing a medley of her '90s and 2000s hits "I Think I'm in Love with You" and "With You," her pale pink satin corset-style top appeared to slip down on the left side, showing a pink bra. "Of course, I have, like, a malfunction here and everywhere. But it's OK. I think my boob stayed in, so that's good," she told the "Today" hosts afterward. Simpson, whose last musical project was a Christmas album in 2010, released the first half of her two-part EP, "Nashville Canyon, Part 1," in March. Her set melded songs new and old, from "Fade" off her upcoming September EP release to 2005's "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'." "It was incredibly healing" to write new songs, Simpson told co-host Jenna Bush-Hager. "I was in Nashville; it was a crazy time for me. My life literally flipped upside down, and I really just had to focus on my purpose." She was "trying to inspire myself to get back up there, have the courage to do it in the face of heartbreak and the face of life completely changing," Simpson added. "Music saved my life. Nashville saved my life. All the songwriters, my band, everybody." In January, the singer and businesswoman revealed in a statement shared with USA TODAY that she and her husband of 10 years, Eric Johnson, were "living separately (and) navigating a painful situation in our marriage." They share three children: daughter Maxwell Drew, 13, son Ace Knute, 12, and daughter Birdie Mae, 6.
