Desire Lines: A capsule collection, body makeup, and a Spice Girl gúna
The blazer Founded by former corporate lawyer Sonica Beckmann, House of Kind is a mission-led fashion brand championing kindness as a force for change. Launched in London on World Kindness Day 2024, and supporting organisations that empower marginalised women, the debut collection features a capsule collection of hard-working, versatile blazers designed for women at all stages of their careers. Distinctive details include Scales of Justice buttons — a nod to the founder's background — a discreet purple love heart on the sleeve, signifying a supportive presence, and breathable lining printed with the brand mantra: Kindness is our Superpower. Blazers from £239 (approx €283) . The home fragrances Synonymous with glamour, the late Princess Grace of Monaco, had close ties to The Shelbourne Hotel. So it's fitting that the iconic Irish hotel was chosen for an exclusive partnership with Grace de Monaco, the modern luxury maison inspired by the Hollywood icon. A first-of-its-kind luxury-for-good brand offering products in fragrance, home, beauty and accessories, Grace de Monaco is wholly owned by the Princess Grace Foundation-USA, with all revenue directly supporting the Princess Grace Awards programme, which elevates aspiring young dancers, actors and filmmakers. Princess Grace also made artwork, including pressed flower creations using native blooms of her Mediterranean home. Those flowers have inspired the prints and fragrances of the new collection. Capture the essence of the French Riviera with the initial selection of Grace de Monaco at The Shelbourne, through glamorous home fragrances including candles (€260) and diffusers (€330). Our favourite is the citrus-bright Danse Étoilée candle. Visit The Shelbourne to explore the collection and look out for the exquisite fragrances launching exclusively in Brown Thomas too. As part of the festival, soprano Eva Kavanagh, pictured, has been announced as the first-ever recipient of the Bríd Phelan Emerging Talent Award with a €6,000 bursary, supported by Kildare Village. From May 27 - June 2. The exhibition The Newbridge Museum of Style Icons unveiled a new celebrity collection this week. Victoria Beckham takes centre stage with an additional four dresses on display from the designer and singer. The most iconic? The leather mini dress she wore at the height of her Spice Girls fame. The museum also launched a new ad this week, created and shot by Dancing With The Stars judge, Arthur Gourounlian. The rosé There are now even more reasons to drink Whispering Angel, the cult French rosé from Provence. The 2024 vintage is being hailed as a stand-out, serving up finessed citrus notes with a fruit-forward profile and smooth and dry finish. And Château d'Esclans has reduced the weight of the 2024 bottle in a step towards reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 50% before 2030. The lighter bottle is also helping reduce transport emissions, energy use, and waste. Feel-good vibes, all round. €26.65, from independent off-licences and Avoca, Brown Thomas, O'Briens and Molloys nationwide. The body make-up Tanning has come a long way, and this latest launch from Bellamianta proves it. SUSLA kicks off Operation Kindness partnership
NBC 6 is proud to partner with the Nell Shehee Foundation on Operation Kindness. Shreveport, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Southern University Shreveport Louisiana (SUSLA) kicked off its partnership with the Nell Shehee Foundation's Operation Kindness by hosting a free luncheon and discussion on April 24, 2045. The 'Pizza with the Chancellors' event was a celebration of kindness and community service. 'There's a lot of chaos in the world today,' said Nell Shehee, Operation Kindness Founder. 'There's political divisiveness. There is racism. There is unrest. There is unwellness in the world. There's an easy antidote to chaos and negativity, and that's kindness.' 'Give for Good' challenge: what is it, how to join? SUSLA students and staff are injecting that antidote of kindness into the community through quarterly service projects, which include volunteering at local schools and soup kitchens. They will also conduct food drives and community clean-ups. Some of the projects being planned include: Providing lunch for faculty and staff at Green Oaks High School Hosting a school supply give-away and reading to students at Pine Grove Elementary Serving lunch to clients at Christian Service Cleaning neighborhoods through an adopt-a-road program 'Those things that we're doing here on our campus, we spread kindness,' said Aubra Gantt, Chancellor of SUSLA. 'This partnership with Ms. Shehee will allow us to continue the efforts of spreading kindness not only here at Southern University Shreveport but throughout the city and throughout the state.' C.E. Byrd students give back during Centennial Celebration Day of Service As students and staff mingled during the kickoff, they also discussed simple ways of showing kindness in everyday interactions. 'As chancellor, it makes me feel good to see our students really being kind to one another, talking and communicating with one another in a kind way as well as showing appreciation to faculty and staff who have invested in their education,' shared Gantt. 'We're all different,' Shehee said. 'We're different colors, different religions, but we all have the same heart. If we just give from our heart, the world would be a much better place.' In addition to quarterly projects, SUSLA will celebrate World Kindness Day on November 13, 2025, with small acts of kindness around campus. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Spreading kindness through the Best Buddies program
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) —The Tea Area School District is celebrating kindness this week, with some high schoolers hosting a special assembly for younger students. Kindness was in the lesson plan at Frontier Elementary Wednesday. 'We brought our high school students in to celebrate World Kindness Day for the elementary students. And we think it's a really big deal to get elementary students involved in celebrating kindness and differences and that's all Best Buddies at the high school is about,' Tea High School English teacher Abby Gullickson said. Calls for help to Senator Rounds triple as DOGE cuts hit South Dakotans 'This is our first year with Best Buddies actually. So it's just making sure that the people with disabilities feel included and have friends,' president of Tea Area Best Buddies Ava Opland said. Students who are part of the Best Buddies program helped lead the assembly. 'We really tried to tailor to elementary students, like, what can they do to show kindness?' Gullickson said. 'So eating with someone at lunch and making sure someone has someone to play with at recess and, you know, safe like hallway etiquette kind of thing, but making sure that they know that kindness is important.' 'I hope they learn that it's okay to be different. It's okay to not be exactly like the others and be unique,' Opland said. 'And that being yourself and making new friends is all what life is about.' It's a valuable lesson, no matter your age. 'If there is no kindness in the world, then people will just be mean to each other,' Frontier Elementary 3rd Grader Emersyn Stich said. And then there would be, like, no friends and you wouldn't have anybody to talk with so that it would literally like, not be a world.' The Tea Area High School Best Buddies will go to other schools on Friday. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
