Leading PC Manufacturer HYTE Announces X50 And X50 Air Modern Performance Case For Summer 2025 Launch
Latest PC Chassis Balances Form and Function Delivered through a Disciplined Multi-Dimensional Design with Flagship Capabilities, Feature Sets, and Highly Accessible Pricing TAIPEI, Taiwan, May 19, 2025 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- HYTE, a leading manufacturer of cutting-edge PC components and peripherals, revealed the X50 and X50 Air, all-new PC cases with prosumer-grade engineering that delivers unobstructed airflow, incredible durability, future-proof component compatibility, and thoughtful design for superior build experiences. Both cases are expected to launch in Summer 2025. To learn more, please visit: "At HYTE, we don't want to get too comfortable. While everyone loves our Y-series of cases, it is important we continue experimenting on our core component designs to achieve further innovation that will trickle down to the PC community," said Rob Teller, Product Director at HYTE. "Our new X50 and X50 Air chassis represent HYTE's goals of reimagining the modern PC with innovative design, function, and experiences at competitive prices, and we are eager to see how our community embraces this new case." MODERN PERFORMANCE CASE HYTE's new X50 cases redefine traditional PC chassis with a fully rounded design that opens several performance optimizations. These include a Full-Coverage Micro-Mesh front and side panel for low-pressure and low-resistance air intake, HYTE's patent-pending Louvered Blade Ventilation that reduces exhaust impedance and reinforces case rigidity, and a structural top-mounted PSU canopy for hassle-free cable management, which also lets the PSU act as an exhaust fan to remove hot air. In addition to Cold-Floor Cooling that keeps any GPU cool with up to 3x 120mm extra-thick fans, the X50 and X50 Air also features massive 360mm radiator support on adjustable front and side, with a total capacity of up-to-10 fans in a compact mid-tower profile. STRENGTH SHAPED BY DESIGN The X50 and X50 Air balance form and function with a disciplined multi-dimensional design that seamlessly blends premium materials with exquisite craftsmanship. The X50 is equipped with a sweeping curved and Shatter-Proof(ish) 4mm-thick Laminated Acoustic Glass panel for maximum visibility into the PC that significantly enhances passive noise damping. For those who prefer the X50 Air, the glass panel is replaced with a curved Full-Coverage Micro-Mesh panel that further enhances the case's airflow capabilities. In addition to using 1 mm-thick steel that offers enhanced chassis strength and durability, the X50 cases are HYTE's cleanest and most cohesive design as it was manufactured with an Automative Grade Tooling with 4x tighter tolerances than with industry-standard cases to achieve the rounded compound curves. While the X50 Air only comes in Snow White and Pitch Black colorways, the standard X50 will be available across a rainbow of colorways, including Snow White, Pitch Black, Cherry, Taro Milk, Strawberry Milk, and Matcha Milk colorways. A SUPERIOR BUILD EXPERIENCE The X50 and X50 Air cases' rounded design contributes to the ease of any PC build without being harsh on a builder's hands. The tool-less front and side panels also contribute how easy it is to build, upgrade, maintain, and move the case around. In addition to covertly routed cable-routing channels for cable management, the spacious and clutter-free interior provides ample room to build inside the case with no obstructions. Both cases are equipped with modular multi-stage front radiator brackets for AIO compatibility and aesthetic tuning for RGB fans. The X50 and X50 Air will be on display in the HYTE Suite at Computex 2025. Fans can visit and click "Notify Me" to be informed on when the X50 and X50 Air will become available for purchase. PRICING & AVAILABILITY The X50 Modern Performance Case will be available for purchase at $149.99 MSRP + VAT / Tariff, and is expected to launch in Summer 2025. More colorful PC cases from Hyte.
I'm already dying to get my hands on the Y70 Touch Infinite, but the bubbly X50 and X50 Air look just as fun. The compact mid-tower case made its debut at Computex 2025, and it comes with plenty of mesh for more airflow and enough room for up to 10 fans. The X50 Air with the mesh panel will cost $119.99, while the X50 with glass will cost $149.99 (not including tariffs). It will come in white, black, red, pink, purple, and green when it launches this summer.

Proton responds to leave claims: ‘we are not exiting South Africa'
Despite the imminent return of its parent company Geely, the lion brand, through CMH, will not be leaving local soil for a second time. Proton has made it clear that it won't be leaving South Africa for a second time soon. Image: Proton Its future in South Africa having been in doubt ever since its high profile return three years ago, Proton importer, Combined Motor Holdings (CMH), has it back at claims this week of the Chinese-owned Malaysian brand ceasing operations due to faltering offset. Struggling Relaunched with the X50 and X70 SUVs, before the addition of the Saga entry-level sedan and flagship X90 SUV, Geely-owned Proton has struggled to a find footing in the local market with its first full year of reported sales in 2024 yielding an offset of 888 units. ALSO READ: Proton X90 helps Malaysian carmaker stand out from the crowd According to the latest sales figures by the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (Naamsa), 226 Protons have so far departed from dealership floors throughout the first four months of 2025, which alluded to a possible withdrawal before year-end. Geely returning Heightening matters further is the imminent return of Geely itself to South Africa, whose products, aside from the Saga, provide the base for the majority of Proton's current range. Proton parent company, Geely, will return to South Africa before the end of 2025. Image: This includes the X50 being a rebadged version of the Geely Binyue, the X70 being based on the Boyue and the X90 derived from the Geely Haoyue. Bold claims At the time of the brand's relaunch, CMH CEO, Jebb McIntosh, said, 'luxury brands have become so unaffordable for the majority of South Africans. The purchase of the stake by Geely has transformed Proton. Now pre-facelift X70 was one of the first Geely models to receive Proton badging. Image: Proton 'When the brand became available, we jumped at the opportunity for several reasons, but mostly, we saw a gap in the market for a quality SUV within an affordable price bracket'. At the same event, Proton South Africa Managing Director, Greg Snodgrass, said the brand would be aiming at comparative Volkswagen and Mazda products rather than Chery and Great Wall Motors (GWM) Haval based on the tagline of 'affordable luxury'. 'Proton is staying' Earlier this week, an obtained annual report by CMH alleged that the importation of distribution of Proton products had become difficult and that a decision on the brand's future would likely to be made before year-end once current inventory runs out. Saga currently serves as Proton's only sedan and overall entry-level model in South Africa. Image: Proton Since January, numerous attempts by The Citizen seeking clarity on Proton's local operations have fallen on deaf ears, the most recent in February going unheard. In a statement on Wednesday (7 May), the automaker said the claims of its departure are unproven and that the annual report about the supposed sales difficulty 'was strictly in relation to stock liquidation of ageing inventory in a very difficult and competitive market— a standard industry practice to prepare for the arrival of exciting new models'. X90 currently tops Proton's local product range. Image: 'Proton is not exiting the South African market. Proton is strengthening its home market presence by preparing to launch new-generation vehicles, including compact sedans, hatchbacks, and competitive B-segment SUVs with internal combustion and hybrid powertrains,' the statement concluded. More soon At stands, no further details about the mentioned new products are unknown, however, with apparent assurance now been given in spite of the pending arrival from Geely, expect more to be revealed within the coming months.
