And let's not forget: Xiaomi is one of the fastest brands out there when it comes to charging. If you are always in a rush (and who isn't?), this matters. Phones like the Xiaomi 14T Pro, the Xiaomi's camera app is also loaded with features. It can be as simple or as advanced as you want. You might find your perfect phone in a place you weren't even looking. Despite all the challenges, Huawei keeps showing us what is possible. But what really stood out to me were the brands barely getting any love in the poll. Some really popular ones – and ones I think deserve more recognition – are sitting at the Xiaomi is officially the least favorite, which honestly shocked me. Right behind it are Motorola vivo and Huawei . All four of these are doing some pretty amazing things, but clearly, they are still flying under the radar for a lot of I want to give them a little spotlight here – because I believe their low votes aren't about quality but visibility.

Xiaomi's homegrown chip has more powerful specs on Geekbench as it rivals Snapdragon 8 Elite AP
Earlier this month Xiaomi unveiled its latest homegrown application processor (AP), the XRING 01. The SoC is built on TSMC's second-generation 3nm process node (N3B), recently scored an impressive 3,004,137 score on the AnTuTu benchmark app. That resulted in a close battle among APs used by Android phones between the XRING 01, MediaTek's Dimensity 9400+, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The XRING 01 is being used to power the Xiaomi 15S Pro and the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra and is equipped with a decacore configuration which includes: 2x Cortex-X925 CPU prime cores running at a maximum clock speed of 3.9GHz. 4x Cortex-A725 CPU performance cores running at a maximum clock speed of 3.4GHz. 2x Cortex-A725 CPU performance-efficiency cores running at a maximum clock speed of 1.9GHz. 2x Cortex-A520 CPU efficiency cores running at a maximum clock speed of 1.8GHz. The XRING 01 features a 16-core Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU and produced 2,709 and 8,125 single-core and multi-core scores respectively on the Geekbench 6 app. The AP was powering the Xiaomi 15S Pro during the test. That compares to the numbers put up by the Snapdragon 8 Elite driving the Xiaomi 15 Pro which were 2919 (single-core) and 8,699 (multi-core). The multi-core score for the XRING 01 shows that it is only 7% slower than Qualcomm's current flagship AP. vivo S30 launch date set, Xiaomi 15S Pro official with Xring O1 SoC, Week 21 in review
vivo will unveil the S30 and S30 Pro mini on May 29. The China-bound series will come in a variety of colors - pink, yellow, blue, and black. The S30 could have a 6,500mAh battery, while the Pro mini will get a Dimensity 9400e SoC. Huawei's MateBook Fold Ultimate has the body of a 13-inch laptop, but is actually an 18-inch foldable. The bottom part of the display can display a virtual on-screen keyboard (or whatever you want). The laptop weighs just 1.16kg, and is 14.9mm thick when closed (7.3mm when opened). The display is quite impressive – it has 4:3 aspect ratio when opened (3,296 x 2,472px) and 3:2 when in laptop form (2,472 x 1,648px resolution of the 'display'). It's a dual-layer OLED LTPO panel that pumps out a powerful 1,600 nits and has 1,440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. The dual-layer structure reduces power usage by 30% while tripling the expected life of the panel. It is protected by a non-Newtonian fluid and a carbon fiber support layer. The Huawei MateBook Pro also launches on June 6, starting at CNY 8,000 ($1,110/€985/₹95,000) for the 24GB/512GB model. Xiaomi announced the 15S Pro, which premiered its new in-house chipset - the Xring O1. The SoC is the real story, as the phone is otherwise identical to the 15 Pro. Developed and designed by Xiaomi and fabbed on TSMC's second-generation N3E 3nm process, Xring O1 features a ten-core CPU cluster with 2x Cortex-X925 prime cores clocked @ 3.9GHz, 6x Cortex-A725 performance cores between 1.9-3.4 GHz and 2x Cortex-A520 efficiency cores @ 1.8 GHz. The CPU is joined by a 16-core ARM Immortalis-G925 GPU and a 6-core NPU rated at 44 TOPS. Xiaomi revealed that its flagship SoC scored over 3 million points on the AnTuTu benchmarking platform, edging out the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Xring O1 also managed over 3,000 single core points and 9,000 multi-core points in Geekbench 6, with the multi-core score edging out Apple's A18 Pro. Xring O1 supports the latest LPDDR5T RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, USB 3.2 Gen2 connectivity, Wi-Fi 7, and a custom 3-core Xiaomi ISP. We will also see a tablet, audio wearables, and a fast-charging power bank. You can use a virtual keyboard or a super-slim 5mm wireless keyboard. The laptop itself is super thin, measuring only 14.9mm when closed. Xiaomi's first flagship chipset outbenchmarked the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The Xiaomi 16 is coming in September with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC. We saw the first CAD-based renders of Xiaomi's next flagship, and it appears similar to its predecessor. The Xiaomi 16 is apparently going to have an enormous 6,800 mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging. It's also claimed to have the best screen for a device of its size. Infinix's Hot series will continue with the slimness trend - the Hot 60 Pro+ will be under 6mm, and will be the thinnest curved phone, Per Ice Universe. We put the new vivo X200 Ultra against its predecessor in a stills camera battle. The new phone has an interesting new 35mm camera, a superior 14mm ultrawide, and a slightly improved 85mm zoom. Just how different is a 35mm lens from a 23mm lens? It will be unveiled in late September. The device is precisely 5.95 mm thin. The OnePlus 13s will launch in India on June 5. The phone is being launched in India in three colors, two of which we are familiar with from the OnePlus 13T. These include the Black Velvet and the Pink Satin. India, however, gets an additional exclusive color called Green Silk but does not get the gray color of the 13T. The green and pink models have a new soft touch finish that is dubbed Velvet Glass. No word on pricing just yet. The event will see the Pad 7 Ultra tablet with the same chip. Will feature an exclusive Green Silk colorway for the Indian market. Almost a month in advance of its predecessor.

Xiaomi follows Apple, Google with in-house Xring O1 chip for phones, tabs
China's Xiaomi is launching the Xiaomi 15S Pro smartphone and Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra tablet with the company's maiden in-house chipset, the Xring O1. According to 9To5Google, the company is making a shift as it moves toward self-reliance by reducing dependence on third-party chip makers like Qualcomm. Xring O1 system-on-chip: Details According to the report, Xiaomi's first custom-built system-on-chip (SoC), Xring O1, is built on a 3nm architecture. It will include a 10-core central processing unit (CPU), and a 16-core graphic processing unit (GPU). The chip will also feature a 6-core neural processing unit (NPU) which has been made dedicatedly for handling on-device processing for Xiaomi's native artificial intelligence-powered features. This SoC will debut on the Xiaomi 15S Pro and Pad 7 Ultra, but may also appear in future Xiaomi products. Xiaomi 15S Pro: What to expect As per a report by GSMArena, the Xiaomi 15S Pro smartphone is expected to retain the premium design and specifications of the Xiaomi 15 Pro. It will sport a 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED QHD+ resolution display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. For imaging, the smartphone is expected to feature a triple camera set-up with a 50MP main camera coupled with an ultra-wide camera and a 5x periscope telephoto lens. It is likely that it will pack a 6,100mAh battery which will support 90W wired charging. The device will run on Xiaomi HyperOS 2, based on Android 15, and is expected to come in two colourways: Black and Blue. Xiaomi pad 7 Ultra: What to expect The Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra tablet will be powered by the XRING O1 chip, and will likely sport a 14-inch 3.2K OLED panel with a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. The Xiaomi pad 7 Ultra tablet will pack a 12,000mAh battery, which is expected to deliver up to 18.95 hours of video playback and 528 days in ultra-power-saving mode. Xiaomi has revealed that HyperOS 2 will be optimised for the tablet and offer enhanced multitasking experience. The Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra will be compatible with the company's new magnesium alloy tablet keyboard, built specifically for this unit.
