Arab Parliament President commends UAE's leading role in supporting Palestinian people
5 Aug 2025 19:14 CAIRO (WAM) President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed Ahmed Al Yammahi, commended the UAE for its pioneering humanitarian role in supporting the Palestinian people and alleviating their suffering amid the dire humanitarian crisis in the Gaza said that the UAE's initiatives, most notably 'Operation Chivalrous Knight 3,' represent an honourable model of Arab solidarity and effective humanitarian efforts encompass a wide range of support, including the dispatch of ships and convoys of trucks loaded with food, medical supplies, and shelter UAE has also conducted airdrops to reach areas that are inaccessible by land, in coordination with fraternal and friendly Yamahi highlighted the recent arrival of the eighth UAE aid ship, Khalifa, at Al Arish Port. The vessel carried over 7,166 tonnes of humanitarian aid, including food, medical, and health supplies, shelter materials, fully equipped ambulances, and water tankers to address urgent needs in the Gaza further noted that since the launch of "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3," the UAE has delivered over 80,000 tonnes of humanitarian and relief aid to GazaThese supplies were transported by land, sea, and air, through more than 600 airlifts, 17 cargo ships, and 5,400 UAE has also supported the medical sector by establishing a field hospital in Gaza and a floating hospital off the coast of Al Arish. He also commended the ongoing coordination between the UAE and Egypt to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches those who need it most.

Arab Parliament condemns Israeli escalation, attacks on places of worship
19 July 2025 20:17 CAIRO (WAM) Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament, strongly condemned the dangerous escalation by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West a statement issued, Al Yamahi described the ongoing blockade, starvation, and targeting of civilians—particularly women, children and families—as a fully fledged crime committed in plain view of the stated, 'What is happening in Gaza, from deliberate starvation to deadly siege, leaving children, women and families to die from hunger or by bullets, is a crime the global conscience can no longer bear.'Al Yamahi also warned against the Israeli occupation's illegal decision to transfer the administration and supervision of the Ibrahimi Mosque from the Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs to what is known as the 'Jewish Religious Council.' He condemned the move as a blatant violation of international resolutions, including those issued by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).He stressed the danger of such illegal actions, which form part of a wider plan by the occupation to alter the historical, legal and religious status of Islamic holy sites in the occupied Palestinian territory and impose a fabricated Israeli sovereignty over them. He reaffirmed that all such decisions and actions are illegal and void under international Yamahi also denounced the Israeli military's continued targeting of places of worship in Gaza, including mosques and churches, the most recent being the Latin Patriarchate church, which was sheltering around 600 Palestinians, including children and persons with disabilities. MP CM kick starts his investment drive in Dubai
Dubai [UAE], July 13 (ANI): Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Mohan Yadav on Sunday kick-started his investment drive in Dubai with a significant meeting with Mohammad Al Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament, which includes 22 Gulf countries including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Jordan etc, a statement said. The meeting aimed to strengthen ties between Madhya Pradesh and the Gulf region, exploring opportunities for mutual benefit. At a private lunch where Yadav and Yamahi were the Chief Guests, the MP CM spoke at length for the mutual interests , collaborations and taking the relationships to next level. Yadav congratulated Yamahi for becoming the President of Arab Parliament and leading democratic institution of 22 Gulf Countries, as per the statement. Madhya Pradesh is a heart of India with a population of 90 million having a largest forest cover above 30 per cent. This makes MP the most natural habitat of Wild Life - it's the Tiger capital of the world. Senate, Arab Parliament discuss joint cooperation
Ammon News - Senate President Faisal Fayez received Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Yamahi and his accompanying delegation on Sunday, as part of an official visit to Jordan at the invitation of the Senate. Following formal talks, both sides signed a memorandum of cooperation to bolster parliamentary relations between Jordan's Senate and the Arab Parliament. The agreement includes exchanging expertise and knowledge in legislative affairs, training, and capacity building, in addition to coordinating positions at regional and international forums and promoting dialogue and parliamentary diplomacy in service of Arab interests. Fayez underscored the important role of the Arab Parliament and its leadership in advancing joint Arab action to meet the aspirations of Arab peoples. He stressed the need to activate Arab parliamentary diplomacy to help resolve the region's crises. He called for intensified and coordinated Arab parliamentary efforts to expose Israel's atrocities and brutal aggression to global public opinion and to press international parliaments to take clear and firm positions to halt Israeli aggression and enforce international court rulings against Israeli political and military figures accused of war crimes. Fayez also urged the Arab Parliament to convene an Arab economic summit to establish an economic union modeled after the European Union, aiming to boost economic cooperation, trade exchange, technology transfer, and ultimately create a common Arab market. He emphasized that confronting the region's current challenges requires Arab parliamentarians to strengthen and activate parliamentary institutions, bridge differences, and elevate these institutions to meet the ambitions of Arab citizens, advance joint Arab action, and unify political stances on key Arab causes. Fayez briefed the delegation on the latest regional developments, particularly the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and efforts to expand tensions. He highlighted Jordan's role, under His Majesty King Abdullah II's leadership, in working to end the Israeli aggression and supporting the Palestinian people in achieving their legitimate rights. He stressed that Jordan remains strong through its leadership, people, security services, and armed forces, despite all challenges. For his part, Yamahi praised Jordan's distinguished parliamentary experience and the Arab Parliament's keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation and exchange best practices in parliamentary work. He commended Jordan's historical role under the Hashemite leadership in supporting Arab unity and defending Arab causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause. He expressed the Arab Parliament's full support for His Majesty's efforts to achieve regional peace and resolve the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution and relevant international legitimacy resolutions, reaffirming support for the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. Yamahi noted that signing the memorandum of understanding with the Senate reflects the Arab Parliament's commitment to strengthening inter-Arab parliamentary cooperation, promoting shared dialogue, and addressing the region's pressing challenges. He added that the Arab Parliament is currently working to advance the shift to a digital economy, achieve Arab food security, empower women and youth, and establish a parliamentary forum for regional parliamentary leaders to confront challenges and achieve peace, security, stability, and development.
