Prime Minister Follows Up on Preparations for the Grand Egyptian Museum Opening Ceremony

Ali abo deshish Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, chaired a meeting today at the Government Headquarters in New Alamein City to follow up on preparations for the Grand Egyptian Museum's opening ceremony, scheduled for November 1. The meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, Chief Executive Officer of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority; Ambassador Yasser Shaaban, Assistant Foreign Minister for Cultural Relations; Mr. Mohamed El-Saadi, Board Member of United Media Services and General Supervisor of the opening preparations; along with a number of officials. At the outset, Dr. Madbouly stressed the importance of continuous follow-up on the preparations for the opening ceremony, following the announcement of the new date, to ensure full coordination and harmony among all state bodies involved. He emphasized the need for the event to reflect the grandeur of this cultural landmark and its national significance. Ambassador Yasser Shaaban reviewed the status of the invitations extended to world leaders for this unique event, confirming that invitations had been sent to various countries and that Egyptian ambassadors abroad are following up to secure the attendance of the largest possible number of heads of state. The list of prominent public figures invited to the ceremony was also presented. Mr. Mohamed El-Saadi outlined key aspects of the preparations for the ceremony, detailing ongoing arrangements for the main event and providing a summary of its program, along with the accompanying activities. He also addressed the expected media coverage, noting strong interest from leading global media outlets in covering the ceremony. CAIRO, May 14 (MENA) - The National Coordinating Committee for Combating and Preventing Illegal Migration and Human Trafficking organized Wednesday the 13th edition of the "Buy Egyptian Art" Exhibition under the auspices of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates and in cooperation with the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA). The exhibition is being organized within the framework of support provided by the ministry to the National Committee for Combating and Preventing Illegal Migration and Human Trafficking (NCCPIM) - of which the ministry is a member. Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Cultural Relations ambassador Yasser Shaaban participated in the opening of the exhibition, on behalf of the minister of foreign affairs, along with CEO of MSMEDA Basel Rahmy, NCCPIM's Chairperson ambassador Naila Gabr, Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Egypt Carlos Oliver and Ihab Leheita, Vice President of Gezira Club. The "Buy Egyptian Art" series aims to contribute to reducing illegal emigration and human trafficking by supporting owners of craft and heritage projects helping them expand their clientele within the Egyptian and foreign diplomatic community, thus contributing to establishing ongoing, long-term cooperation that creates ongoing marketing opportunities for project owners. "Buy Egyptian Art" Exhibition

Mohamed Mandour In line with the Egyptian government's ongoing efforts to create job opportunities for youth and combat illegal migration and trafficking in persons, the National Coordinating Committee for Combating and Preventing Illegal Migration and Trafficking in Persons (NCCPIM&TIP), in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), has launched a series of periodic exhibitions focused on showcasing Egyptian handicrafts and heritage. The 13th edition of the 'Buy Egyptian Art', exhibition for Egyptian heritage products will be held in cooperation with the International Organization of Migration (IOM) from 8 to 10 May 2025, at the Cultural Center of Al-Gezira Club. The exhibition will be inaugurated in the presence of Ambassador Yasser Shaaban, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration for Cultural Relations, representing the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, Basel Rahmi, CEO of MSMEDA, Ambassador Naela Gabr, Chair of the NCCPIM&TIP, Carlos Oliver, Chief of Mission of IOM Egypt. This exhibition reflects the state's commitment to promoting economic empowerment for youth and reducing illegal migration and human trafficking through supporting small and artisanal enterprises and linking them to local and international markets. It also aims to introduce ambassadors and diplomats assigned abroad to Egyptian artisans' products, encouraging the export of these items in support of the national economy. The exhibition serves as an interactive platform connecting young producers with the Egyptian and international diplomatic communities, enabling them to showcase their products, expand market opportunities, and enhance their communication and marketing skills. For the second consecutive year, Al-Gezira Sports Club hosts the exhibition at its Cultural Center in the Villa Major Heritage, reflecting a successful public-private partnership that bolsters civil society's role in supporting artisans. MSMEDA has provided full support to the exhibitors through financial and non-financial services to scale their businesses and ensure sustainability, contributing to job creation and added value to the Egyptian economy.
