Moment 2 Dachshunds Reunite After Firefighters Rescue Them From Car Crash Is Everything
Traffic accidents can be frightening, regardless of who is involved. However, a car crash involving a pet is a pet owner's worst nightmare. Unlike humans, pets are often not secured in vehicles as well, which can lead to more severe injuries in the event of an accident. Fortunately, most pet parents drive especially carefully with their furry friends in the car, but on March 19, officers in St. Paul, Minnesota, responded to the scene of a scary crash caused by a dog parent who was anything but careful. Despite her car being found rolled over in the road, the crash briefly turned into a celebration when her two dogs were rescued from the car. The scared Dachshund dogs must have been so scared while trapped in the vehicle, but thanks to first responders, they are safe, uninjured, and in the right hands. How scary! These pups could have been seriously hurt when the car hit a parked vehicle and flipped onto its side, but the only person injured was the driver. She was taken to the hospital for minor injuries before being booked in Ramsey County Jail for driving under the commenters are disgusted that someone would put their pets in harm's way like this. However, the overall theme of comments and replies is gratitude for the firefighters, paramedics, and police officers who responded to the call. Their care for the small dogs did not go unnoticed! I agree wholeheartedly with the commenter Yena, who wrote, "If I ever get in this situation, please save my kids (dogs) first." Dogs may not be able to communicate a life-threatening injury, and it can take much longer to find emergency help for an animal. Dispatchers don't page veterinarians alongside paramedics! This terrifying close call is a reminder that car safety for pets is essential. Please invest in a pet car seat, seat belt, or even backseat hammock to keep your dog secure while you're driving.
