AP aims for Guinness world record with 5 lakh strong yoga event in Vizag
Naidu noted that registrations and participation in yoga sessions held so far in various districts have been highly encouraging. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to attend the mega event in Visakhapatnam on June 21, the Chief Minister instructed officials to make meticulous arrangements and manage traffic without causing any inconvenience to the general public. 'There should be zero confusion or discomfort. Everyone must reach their allotted area without any hindrance,' he said. To build momentum, he announced two major state-wide initiatives ahead of Yoga Day. On June 7, yoga awareness rallies will be held in every village, and on June 14, yoga practice sessions will take place in one lakh locations, including all educational institutions and public spaces. Ministers Nara Lokesh, Kandula Durgesh, Vangalapudi Anitha, Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, Satya Kumar Yadav, Chief Secretary K Vijayanand, and DGP Harish Kumar Gupta attended the review meeting. The officials briefed the Chief Minister about the programmes being held as part of 'Yoga Month' with daily themed events involving students, women, SHG members, and other sections of society. Naidu was informed that German hangers are being arranged in Visakhapatnam as backup venues in case of rain. Special Chief Secretary Krishna Babu said 1.77 crore registrations have already been received against the State's 2 crore target. Certificates are being issued to those who practise yoga for three consecutive days, with a dedicated mobile app launched for generating digital certificates, he said.

Ensure flawless arrangements for Yoga Day in Visakhapatnam on June 21, says Naidu
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed satisfaction over the overwhelming public response to the International Yoga Day celebrations to be held across Andhra Pradesh on June 21. Reviewing the preparations for the day on Tuesday, Mr. Naidu noted the encouraging registration figures and enthusiastic participation in the yoga practice sessions across districts. The State's ambitious goal was to create a Guinness World Record by organising the largest-ever yoga gathering with full public involvement and meticulous planning, he said. 'The government has set a target of involving five lakh participants in Visakhapatnam on June 21. Also, the government aims at a zero inconvenience policy. All traffic and logistical challenges must be proactively addressed, especially in the light of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit. Clear guidance should be given in advance to the attendees from all the regions, regarding where to go and participate,' the Chief Minister said. Mr. Naidu said that two major pre-events should be organised to mobilise and prepare the public. On June 7, awareness rallies should be taken out in every village and locality. On June 14, mass yoga sessions should be conducted at one-lakh locations across the State, including in all the educational institutions. Mr. Naidu said that public awareness and engagement must peak ahead of the main event, ensuring people were motivated, informed, and ready to participate with full energy. The officials briefed the Chief Minister on the events conducted so far as part of the Yoga Month, and the diverse daily themed activities being held in the districts, which received positive feedback. 'Contingency plans are in place should there be rain. An additional covered venue using German hangars has been prepared to avoid disruption,' they said. Special Chief Secretary (Health) M.T. Krishna Babu said that yoga registrations were coming in from every village. 'Registrations have exceeded the expectations, with 1.77 crore people already registered out of the two crore target. Those participating for three days will automatically receive yoga participation certificates, also available via app. The participants include students, women, SHG members, and the general public from diverse backgrounds,' he said. The State identified 5,353 master trainers (target was 2,600), who had already trained 1.48 lakh individuals (surpassing the 1.25 lakh target). Yoga competitions also met their intended participation goals, he added.

Panels formed for awareness on Yogandhra programmes
Bhimavaram: West Godavari district Collector Chadalawada Nagarani said that a massive plan is being formulated and implemented to make the Yogandhra programme a success in the district in accordance with the government's orders. On Thursday, she personally participated in a yoga training programme organised at Alluri Seetharamaraju Smritivanam here and practiced yoga asanas. After the training programme, she said that committees have been formed at the respective levels to organise extensive awareness programmes at the village, mandal and district levels. She said that people from all walks of life, including public representatives, officials, students, youth and voluntary organisations are participating in this programme. She said that a Yoga Street has been set up at the Alluri Seetharamaraju Smriti Vanam in the district headquarters and a programme is being organised every day. She said that rallies and awareness programmes are being organised by selecting a mandal every day. As part of the Yoga Month programme, one hundred master trainers have been selected and completed a three-day training to train 50 trainers each. They will provide training within the mandal and village limits. Yoga demonstrations will be organised with at least 5,000 people at identified tourist places. A large-scale yoga demonstration on boats was already completed on May 27 at Valandara dock on the banks of Vasishta Godavari. Steps have been taken to organise a large-scale yoga on the premises of the famous pilgrimage site Penugonda Vasavi Kanyaka Parameshwari temple. Yogandhra programmes will be organised grandly on June 9th at Perupalem Beach in Mogalthur mandal, on the 16th at Alluri Sitarama Raju Smriti Vanam in Bhimavaram, and on the 19th at DNR College in Bhimavaram and VNM College in Narasapuram with 5,000 people. All the people are requested to participate in large numbers and make it a success. Yoga competitions at various levels will be organised at village and ward levels. She said that the competitions started from May 26 and will end on May 30. At the mandal level, competitions will be held from June 2 to June 7 and at the district level from June 9 to June 14. The winners of the Best Yoga Song, Best Yoga Painting, Best Yoga Essay, etc will be announced and prizes will be given away on June 17 and 18. She said that Rangoli competitions will also be held on June 2. Preparations are being made for a large-scale yoga demonstration programme on the occasion of International Yoga Day on June 21. Public urged to take part in Yogandhra
Puttaparthi: District Collector TS Chethan has instructed the concerned officials to actively involve the public in the Yogandhra programme. On Thursday, the Collector held a teleconference with district and mandal-level officials regarding the Yogandhra initiative. The Collector emphasized the need to widely promote the importance of yoga among people until June 21, encouraging enthusiasm and awareness. He directed that various competitions be organised for students and professionals in different fields to highlight yoga's significance. Committees at mandal and village levels should be formed to ensure the success of the Yogandhra programme. He further instructed identifying yoga trainers in every mandal to conduct training sessions and urged efforts to register a large number of people for yoga practice in the district. Yoga practice greatly improves mental and physical health, along with fostering peace and spiritual reflection, he added. Following the State government's directives, the Collector advised organising special training sessions and yoga events as part of Yoga Month and taking initiatives under the Swarnandhra goals to achieve a healthy and happy Andhra Pradesh. Special attention should be given to raising public awareness about the importance of yoga for daily health care. The Collector recommended conducting advance promotional activities for Yogandhra 2025 from May 21 to June 21 as prescribed by the state government. He also issued necessary guidelines on the steps to be taken in various related areas. SP V Ratna, Joint Collector Abhishek Kumar, and others participated in the programme.

Yoga should be part of daily life
Anantapur: Collector Dr Vinod Kumar V has urged the public and district administration to actively participate in the Yoga-Andhra campaign and incorporate yoga into their daily routines. He made these remarks while inaugurating the Yoga-Andhra program on Wednesday morning at the Indoor Stadium in Anantapur, as part of the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrations. The Collector officially launched the district-level Yoga-Andhra event and personally performed yoga asanas, inspiring others to follow suit. Several district officials, including the DRO, also joined him in performing yoga. Yoga masters Guru Rajarao and Krishnaveni led the participants through the asanas as per protocol. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Vinod Kumar announced the commencement of the month-long 'Yoga Month' campaign starting today, in the run-up to International Yoga Day on June 21. As part of the nationwide campaign, a grand event is scheduled to take place in Visakhapatnam on June 21, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu are expected to participate. The Collector also revealed the launch of a dedicated app for the campaign, encouraging everyone to register and participate in the Yoga-Andhra 2025 campaign through it.
