Liswerry couple's Celtic Manor wedding saved by singing

Months and years are spent planning, and it all culminates in one day that is a celebration of love and connection. So, what happens when the song you're supposed to walk down the aisle to stops as soon as the bride gets through the doors? Liswerry couple Kirsty and Emmet Reeves now know that panic all too well, after their big day at the Celtic Manor. Maid of Honour Calley Howell, 36, said: "I had managed to get down the aisle and I was the last one before Kirsty and her dad, after her four bridesmaids. 'She had walked maybe two or three steps, and the music stopped – she didn't carry on walking at all. She just froze.' With the groom's family visiting from Ireland and an array of local family members filling the seats, the pressure was on to make sure that everything went to plan. Calley and Kirsty's brother Jack jumped into action to try and fix the problem, trying desperately to reconnect the phone that was playing a version of Shania Twain's 'You're Still the One'. But the phone wasn't the problem – it was the loudspeaker itself. With quite a distance to go to make it to the alter and to her groom, Kirsty was faced with a choice: walk down the aisle in silence, or stay still and hope that the music kicks back in. She had made it clear to close friends before the ceremony that she needed to walk down the aisle to the chorus, but the technology had other plans. Before the panic could set in and Kirsty would be forced to decide, the guests would make the decision for her. Wedding guest Sarah Pugsley would break out into her own rendition of the track Kirsty had always wanted, the rest of the room quickly following suit. Within seconds, the room would be singing acapella, and Kirsty would be able to walk down the aisle in the way she had always dreamed of. The quick thinking of photographer Nick Murray is what allows the happy couple to see this moment again. In a ceremony where guests were urged to forgo their phones and other tech, his actions have immortalised the truly unique moment that wouldn't be out of place in a classic rom-com. Calley said: 'It was a hiccup and obviously not how she planned to walk down the aisle, but it was a beautiful hiccup.'

Shania Twain Delights Fans with Surprise Intimate Performance in the Bahamas

Shania Twain surprised fans with an intimate performance in a restaurant in the Bahamas With a baseball cap on and her hair pulled back into a ponytail, Twain sang "You're Still the One" for the audience The Queen of Country Pop embarks on a limited North America tour this JulyShania Twain makes the case for hitting the local restaurants while on vacation. The "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" singer, 59, shared a TikTok of her singing "You're Still the One" while playing the guitar at a restaurant in the Bahamas, joining a few other musicians for what appeared to be an impromptu set. Wearing a baseball cap with her hair pulled into a ponytail, Twain — who lives part of the year in the Bahamas — wrapped up her song and blew kisses to the audience. "POV you walk into a random bar on a saturday night in the Bahamas and you find shania twain singing you're still the one," the text over the video read. Twain reiterated the spontaneous sentiment. "You never know what's gonna go down on a Saturday night in Eleuthera! I just love the music scene and atmosphere here 💗," the five-time Grammy winner captioned the clip. Fans were quick to react to the intimate performance Twain gave. "My absolute DREAM COME TRUE to walk in someplace and find the queen just casually singing her stuff!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰 like WHAT!?!😍😍😍," one said. "the way I would have dropped dead," another wrote. A third fan simply wrote, "Chills." Someone pointed out that the couple at the bar "won the lottery" with their up-close seating and the privacy of their Queen of Country Pop concert. Twain spoke to PEOPLE in February about how being contained in the music industry after venturing into both pop and country genres throughout her career. "If I feel like I'm being put in a box, I start to panic," Twain said at the time. "I run in any direction I can because I don't want to be contained. I have to be able to find my own way." "Sometimes I'm not even sure where I'm going myself. How can somebody else tell me that, right?" she continued. So I need the freedom to explore and to land wherever that exploration takes me." For fans who missed out on this Twain experience, the singer is headed on a limited North America tour this July and August, making stops in Quebec City and Toronto, along with Hershey, Pa. Hollywood, Fla. and Saratoga Springs, N.Y., among other cities. Read the original article on People
