Zain KSA and Cisco to develop AI infrastructure
Zain KSA, a provider of telecommunications and digital services in Saudi Arabia, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Cisco, a global leader in networking and security, focusing on the development of cutting-edge AI infrastructure and GPU-as-a-service. The agreement will leverage Cisco's advanced, end-to-end infrastructure solutions for securely building and scaling AI workloads, supporting Zain KSA in delivering high-performance, resilient, and reliable GPU-powered services to the Saudi market. The MoU is part of Zain KSA's strategy to actively align with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals by driving digital transformation and positioning the Kingdom as a global digital innovation hub, particularly in the AI space. The MoU also includes exploring opportunities for training programs to upskil local talent, in line with Zain KSA's commitment to ICT skills development. As part of the collaboration, Zain KSA will leverage its deep market knowledge, cutting-edge digital capabilities, and targeted investments alongside Cisco's global expertise in AI-ready infrastructure development. The initiative will create new solutions and commercial models to enable customers across various sectors to confidently and easily adopt AI solutions. The MoU also includes exploring opportunities for training programs to upskil local talent, in line with Zain KSA's commitment to ICT skills development to support long-term national AI capabilities. Zain KSA appoints Saad Al-Sadhan as chief executive
Telecom and digital services provider Zain KSA announced that its board of directors has appointed Acting CEO Saad bin Abdulrahman Al-Sadhan, as the chief executive of the company, effective from July 1. Al-Sadhan has held the position of the acting CEO of Zain KSA since August 2024. He brings more than 22 years of expertise in telecommunications and information technology. Prior to this role, he served as the chief business and wholesale officer of Zain KSA and led B2B sector growth across the company, positioning its portfolio of business solutions and services as a key enabler of the Kingdom's digital business transformation. He also led Zain KSA's strategic partnerships and stakeholder relations while driving the development of cutting-edge digital products and solutions. Additionally, Al-Sadhan played a key role in the launch of Zain Cloud, supporting the digital transformation of Saudi Arabia's public and private sectors in line with Saudi Vision 2030's goal of building a fully integrated digital economy. He was also instrumental in developing a comprehensive digital ecosystem that brings together innovative telecom services and cloud solutions, underpinned by advanced 5G technologies. Additionally, he strengthened Zain KSA's business and wholesale operations, enhancing network capabilities through strategic investments aimed at meeting the full range of market demands in these segments. Al-Sadhan also played a key role in advancing the enterprise sector by building Zain KSA's integrated business services and solutions ecosystem. Zain KSA, Horizon Food name new CEOs
Riyadh: Mobile Telecommunication Company Saudi Arabia (Zain KSA) appointed Saad bin Abdulrahman Al Sadhan as its CEO as of 1 July 2025, according to a bourse filing. The appointment follows a board resolution issued on 29 June, which concluded his term as Acting CEO, a position he has held since August 2024. Al Sadhan brings over 22 years of telecom and IT experience. He was the Chief Business and Wholesale Officer at Zain KSA before serving as Acting CEO. Al Sadhan holds an Electrical Engineering degree from KFUPM and certifications in leadership and IT. Meanwhile, Horizon Food Company named Khadem Sarwar as the new CEO, effective on 15 September 2025, according to a bourse filing. The decision was approved by the board of directors on 29 June 2025. Sarwar has over 28 years of experience in food manufacturing across the UK, UAE, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. He holds an MBA from Caledonian University and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Paisley University. In February 2024, Sultan Al Harbi started his term as the CEO of Horizon Food.
