Port manager remanded for allegedly deceiving firm, causing RM1mil losses
The suspect was brought before the magistrates' court in Putrajaya this morning for a remand order. PETALING JAYA : The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has remanded a woman for allegedly deceiving a company shareholder over a dredging project at Bagan Datuk Port in Perak. The magistrates' court in Putrajaya this morning issued a remand order for the suspect, a port manager in her 40s, for four days until May 11. A source from MACC said the woman was arrested at around 6.15pm yesterday when she was at the anti-graft agency's headquarters in Putrajaya to provide her statement. The source added that the suspect is believed to have misled the shareholder regarding the project to claim an inflated amount for the work through another company. 'She is suspected of causing the (shareholder's) company to suffer losses amounting to RM1 million,' the source said. MACC senior director of investigations Zainul Darus confirmed the arrest and said the case is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.

MACC arrests company director over false documents for housing loan
The director, who is in his 60s, was arrested yesterday after providing a statement to MACC at its headquarters in Putrajaya. PETALING JAYA : The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has remanded a company director with a Datuk title on suspicion of submitting documents with false information to obtain a RM1.6 million bank loan. The loan was linked to a RM162 million housing project for civil servants in Perak, said an MACC source. The Putrajaya magistrates' court issued a five-day remand order for the man until May 11 following an application by MACC. The source said the director, who is in his 60s, was arrested at around 5.15pm yesterday after providing a statement to MACC at its headquarters in Putrajaya. 'The suspect is believed to have submitted documents containing false information to a bank in March to secure a disbursement of RM1.6 million under a RM69 million financing facility provided by the bank for the housing project,' said the source. MACC investigation division senior director Zainul Darus confirmed the arrest and said the case is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009 for filing false claims.

PUTRAJAYA: A construction company director with a Datuk title has been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for allegedly submitting documents containing false details involving RM1.65mi in connection with the RM162mil Civil Servants Housing (PPAM) project in Perak. According to a source, the man in his 60s was arrested at about 5.15pm Tuesday (May 6) when he turned up to give his statement at the MACC headquarters here. "The suspect is believed to have committed the offence in March 2025 by submitting documents with false details to the bank to withdraw about RM1.6mil from a RM69mil financing facility for the project," said the source. The man has been remanded for five days until May 11 after Magistrate Siti Roslizawati Mohd Zanin allowed the MACC's application at the Putrajaya Magistrate's Court Wednesday (May 7). Developer's director held over RM1.6mil false claim in Perak housing project
KUALA LUMPUR: A developer company director, who holds the title 'Datuk', has been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on suspicion of submitting false documents involving RM1.65 million linked to the RM162 million Civil Servants Housing Project in Perak. Sources said the suspect, in his 60s, was detained at about 5.15pm yesterday after presenting himself at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya to have his statement recorded. "The alleged offence occurred in March, when the suspect is believed to have submitted falsified documents to a bank to facilitate the withdrawal of RM1.65 million. "The sum was part of a RM69 million financing facility extended for the project," the source said. MACC Investigation Division senior director Datuk Zainul Darus confirmed the arrest, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009, which pertains to the submission of false claims or documents. This morning, magistrate Siti Roslizawati Mohd Zanin granted a five-day remand order against the suspect, effective until May 11, following an application by MACC at the Putrajaya magistrate's court.

KUALA LUMPUR, May 6 — A man with the title of Datuk who was released from remand on Saturday was rearrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in connection to an ongoing case of submitting false claims worth RM450 million. An MACC source said that the man, in his 60s, was arrested with another suspect, in his 50s, when they showed up at the MACC Headquarters in Putrajaya at 7 pm yesterday to provide their statements, and both men have been remanded this morning, with the Datuk being remanded for two days until today, and the other man for five days until May 9. 'Preliminary investigations found both suspects were believed to submit false claims worth about RM450 million using sukuk funds and obtained facility from a regional office in a highway construction project in Klang Valley worth about RM1.3 billion. 'The arrests follows previous arrests involving false claims worth about RM360 million, with a total of RM800 million,' they said, adding that five individuals were remanded over the case with four being released on MACC bail last week. Meanwhile, MACC investigation division senior director Datuk Zainul Darus confirmed the arrests when contacted, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009. — Bernama
