The 49-year-old, better known as FBI said the annual programme not only drew wide public participation but also offered individuals the chance to realign their routines and strengthen their relationship with the holy scripture. 'We really need to make an effort to bring the Quran to life, especially among the younger generation and society as a whole. 'Perhaps at this point in time we are too busy with work and other commitments that, without realising it, we drift further from the Quran, even though we know it is very important in our lives as Muslims. 'But praise be to Allah, with Malaysia #QuranHour and World Quran Hour, it provides us the chance to reset momentum and review our daily schedules to see whether we are truly allocating time for the Quran,' he told Sinar. Faizal, who hosts the FnN Pagi segment on Zayan FM, said the Malaysia #QuranHour is an impactful programme as it gathers large congregations and creates a collective spirit of remembrance. 'If we can hold concerts, why not allocate at least one day a year for a programme like this,' he said. He recalled being invited to the Malaysia #QuranHour at the International Islamic University Malaysia, where Surah al-Insan was recited and reflected upon at the mosque. 'The atmosphere was very uplifting. Some attended because they were invited by friends, others due to work assignments, but as the Prophet SAW said, even if we just pass by or listen, there is still reward. 'All the more so if we sincerely intend to join and reflect on the Quran,' he said. Faizal also reminded fellow celebrities and busy professionals that time management was a matter of priorities. 'Time is what we choose. In the past, I had many commitments to the point I felt there was never enough. 'So why not plan in advance by including Quran routines or programmes like this in our schedule. 'If we can lock in job dates early, why not lock the Malaysia #QuranHour date too, so it won't be disrupted by other events,' he said. Looking ahead, Faizal hopes the 11th edition of Malaysia #QuranHour will continue to thrive and be expanded nationwide. 'Zayan has also consistently support Malaysia #QuranHour,' he added. Mosques to hold community gathering after vandals spray paint Star of David on building
AUSTIN (KXAN) — A press conference scheduled for Tuesday will feature representatives of three local mosques that were recently vandalized with spray painted Stars of David on the building, according to a press release from the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR-Austin. The vandalism at Nueces Mosque, which was caught on a security camera, shows a white person in shorts, t-shirt and a head wrap walk onto the porch before using a blue spray paint on the building. The Islamic Ahlul Bayt Association and Austin Diyanet Center also 'experienced coward vandalism over the night,' according to the release. Previous: Police investigating vandalism incidents at Austin mosques CAIR Austin Operations Manager Shaimaa Zayan said in the release that hate comes 'from isolation and misinformation.' 'Acts of vandalism against houses of worship are not only attacks on physical spaces but also on the values of tolerance, diversity, and mutual respect,' Zayan said. 'On behalf of the Austin Muslim community, we warmly invite all Austinites—of all faiths and no faith—to attend the upcoming community gathering at Nueces Mosque.' The gathering will held at Nueces Mosque Thursday from 6-8 p.m. She also called for contributions to the mosques' fundraiser campaign to improve security at the places of worship. The Austin Police Department said it is investigating the vandalism incidents. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
