Doctor Who's Ncuti Gatwa shares the real reason behind his shock exit after THAT unexpected regeneration reveal - after fan speculation he was axed
Ncuti Gatwa has shared the real reason that he left BBC 's Doctor Who in Saturday night's big finale. The high-profile actor, who rose to fame in hit Netflix series Sex Education, has opened up about why he left his role as The Doctor after two series. Ncuti, 32, has been replaced by actress Billie Piper after stepping down from his role as the Time Lord. The actor appeared to blame the physical and mental demands of the show for his exit in a new video following fan speculation he was axed from the show. Ncuti explained: 'It's a role that demands a lot of you physically and emotionally and mentally. The actors playing the Doctor are only actors playing the Doctor. Unfortunately, we are mere mortals. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'I would love to have the energy and the youth to be able to do this full time for the rest of my life, but my knees are telling me it's time.' Ncuti also wrote in a heartfelt post: 'Monsters, goblins, gods, human-eating Slugs, invisible brain altering creatures, evil barbers, conspiracy theorists… you've had quite a busy two years. Well done and rest up son ✌ Thank you endlessly XV.' In his exit speech, Ncuti revealed he would never forget his time on the show as he shared his sorrow over hanging up his sonic screwdriver. He said: 'You know when you get cast, at some point, you are going to have to hand back that sonic screwdriver and it is all going to come to an end, but nothing quite prepares you for it. This journey has been one that I will never forget and a role that will be part of me forever. 'There are no words to describe what it feels like to be cast as the Doctor, nor are there words to explain what it feels like to be accepted into this iconic role that has existed for over 60 years and is truly loved by so many across the globe.' His remarks follow fan speculation that Ncuti had not planned to leave the show and was axed following weeks of rumours, however the BBC firmly denied the rumours. On the social platform, they wrote: 'In October 2024, Ncuti Gatwa was on 'The Graham Norton Show' saying he was going to be filming another series of DW next year. In June 2025, he officially leaves the show and regenerates. This was never the plan. What a shame. He deserved so much better.' 'I just want to say that ncuti gatwa has been done so disrespectful this era. > just a twitter post announcement as the doctor > 14th doctor still in existence, undermining the 15th doctor > no announcement or farewell for his departure NCUTI GATWA DESERVED BETTER!' His remarks follow fan speculation that Ncuti had not planned to leave the show and was axed following weeks of rumours, however the BBC firmly denied the rumours 'I'm actually sad and disappointed Ncuti Gatwa isn't the Doctor anymore. We finally got a feel for him and now he's gone. He deserved one more season, we didn't get to know his Doctor at all him and Rouge deserved an entire era together #DoctorWho.' The BBC previously denied claims that Ncuti had been axed from his role just days ahead of the finale. 'Whilst we never comment on the future of the Doctor, any suggestion that Ncuti Gatwa has been "axed" is pure fiction,' a spokesperson for the BBC said. The decision on season 3 will be made after season 2 airs and any other claims are just pure speculation. 'The deal with Disney+ was for 26 episodes – and we still have an entire spin-off, The War Between the Land and the Sea, to air.' Following Ncuti's exit, Billie Piper has replaced him as The Doctor, with the character regenerating during the BBC show's season finale. She first starred as the companion to the ninth Doctor in 2005, playing Rose Tyler alongside Christopher Eccleston's Time Lord. She will now be the second woman to take on the role as the Time Lord after Jodie Whittaker portrayed the 13th doctor. The finale also saw Jodie Whittaker, the 13th doctor, make a guest appearance as Ncuti's Doctor appeared to be travelling through alternate universes.

Eiza González Has Surprising Reaction to Ex Timothée Chalamet's Romance with Kylie Jenner
Eiza González reacted to ex Timothée Chalamet's relationship with Kylie Jenner in a new interview The actress told Cosmopolitan that, after "liking" a photo of Jenner and Chalamet on social media, she thinks they "look so cute together" González and Chalamet were previously linked in 2020, before the actor was first connected to Jenner in 2023Eiza González has "amazing" things to say about ex Timothée Chalamet! The Fountain of Youth star, 35, shared her thoughts on Chalamet's romance with Kylie Jenner in a new episode of Cosmopolitan's Cheap Shots. After being asked about liking a photo of the couple on social media, González confirmed that she did indeed press "like" on the snapshot — which appeared to be of the pair at the 70th David Di Donatello Awards earlier this month. "They look so cute together," González said. "They look so in love and so cute, and I'm obsessed with them, and I love Timmy." González, who was previously linked to the 29-year-old Dune actor in 2020, added that she considers him "the most talented, sweetest boy." "And I'm so proud to see him thriving and doing great in his career," she added. "We're just good friends. I have nothing but amazing things to say about him." Chalamet and González were first spotted together on a getaway in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in June 2020. A source told PEOPLE at the time that the pair flew there with friends and "looked happy together." Another insider later told PEOPLE that the two actors had been "talking on and off," and by October 2020, it was reported that the pair went their separate ways. Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. As for Chalamet and Jenner, 27, the couple was first romantically linked in April 2023. They were later spotted kissing at Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour in September of that year. The actor and the Kylie Cosmetics founder made their red carpet debut at the 70th David Di Donatello Awards in May after attending several other events together in the months leading up to the ceremony. They have also been photographed at sporting events and Coachella, as well as during awards season, when Chalamet earned multiple nods for his performance as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown. The couple most recently cheered on the New York Knicks during the NBA's Eastern Conference Finals — before the team was eliminated by the Indiana Pacers in Game 6 on Saturday, May 31. Speaking with Dazed magazine for a new cover story, Jenner revealed that she has seen comments from fans pointing out her style change, most notably since she's been linked to the actor. 'That's so funny, I've seen that before too, and I'm always like, first of all, the baddie never left,' Jenner said. 'I wear a latex dress at least once a week. Like, where do you guys think the baddie went? People saw me in a flowy dress once in my life, and they were like, 'She's gone!' I wore a sundress once in Palm Springs, you know – like, can a girl wear a sundress once?' Read the original article on People

‘Nothing glamorous about shooting sex scenes!' Former Home And Away star Sarah Roberts addresses reality of on-screen sex
Former Home And Away actor Sarah Roberts says shooting sex scenes on a TV set is in 'no way glamorous', as she confirms she has found love again after her high-profile divorce from ex-husband, James Stewart. In a new interview with the Stellar podcast, Something To Talk About, Roberts discusses the role intimacy co-ordinators play in racy scenes – and how it's nothing like real sex. As she unveils Make It Look Real (a documentary about the topic), Robert recalls one instance where 'there weren't any crazy sex scenes; they were more kissing scenes with an actor that I hadn't worked with before,' Roberts tells Something To Talk About, in a new episode out today. 'It was about, 'How are we going to film this kiss? Do you want to use tongue? Do you not want to use tongue? Where are you going to put your hands? Where should I put my hands?' Listen to Sarah Roberts on the Stellar podcast, Something To Talk About, below: 'There's absolutely nothing glamorous about shooting intimate sex scenes or kissing scenes in front of a massive crew,' she adds. 'My first kissing scene on Home And Away was with my now ex-husband [James Stewart, whom she married in 2019]. 'No-one had walked us through what we were doing. It's hard. Having an intimacy co-ordinator just make it all so much cleaner; it takes the stress away.' Meantime, after a turbulent period of her life – including the loss of her beloved brother in 2019 and her divorce from Stewart last year – Roberts has some happy news: she's found love again. 'I love two people now: I've finally found a love for myself, which I know now in retrospect I didn't have for so long,' Roberts told Something To Talk About. 'I am still finding myself, but I have beaten myself up for a long time because I stayed in something that wasn't healthy. But now I have found this love for myself – and also fallen in love with a man. I'm so in love.' The actor and DJ also revealed she used to be a 'yes girl' with 'absolutely no boundaries.' 'Now that I'm 40, I look back on my life so far and it would have been great to have some boundaries and some respect for myself as well,' she said reflectively. 'I would sometimes bend over backwards so far that I would break my back and I got very sick for a moment in time. 'Now I feel very confident walking onto sets. I feel more confident in my day-to-day life as well in relationships. I know what I'll stand and what I won't stand for.' Listen to Sarah Roberts on the Stellar podcast, Something To Talk About, below: In terms of her personal life, Roberts and Stewart met in 2017 on the set of Home and Away and married two years later. Stewart is now dating his co-star, Ada Nicodemou. Speaking to Stellar, Roberts said it was difficult to navigate heartbreak and her marriage breakdown in the public eye. 'I imagine dealing with a divorce is hard enough,' she said. 'Dealing with it all in the spotlight – and then everything that came out in the media after – absolutely ripped my heart in a million little pieces,.' Listen to the full interview with Sarah Roberts on the latest episode of the Stellar podcast, Something To Talk About, wherever you get your podcasts. See the shoot with her inside the latest issue of Stellar, out in the Sunday papers today.
