Three people injured following collision in Co Kerry

Three people have been injured following a two-vehicle collision in Killarney, Co. Kerry, on Thursday morning. The incident happened on the N22 Killarney to Tralee road at Coolcorcoran shortly after 9.30 am. Advertisement A passenger in one of the vehicles, a woman in her 60s, was conveyed by air ambulance to Cork University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The drivers of both vehicles, a man in his 80s and a woman in her 60s, were brought to University Hospital Kerry for treatment of injuries not believed to be life-threatening at this time. The road remains closed at this time pending a technical examination. Local traffic diversions are in place; however, these diversions are not suitable for heavy vehicles and drivers are advised to use alternative national routes. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward. Any road users who may have dash-cam and were travelling in the area between 9:00am and 9:45am are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí. Emergency services rushed to the scene in Tameside after a child was hit by a car. Police and paramedics were called to Droylsden Road, Audenshaw, following reports of the incident this afternoon (July 31). An air ambulance was seen landing close to the scene. Greater Manchester Police confirmed it was called out to a collision involving a car and a child. The child was taken to hospital. No arrests have been made so far, GMP says. Minehead school bus crash latest: One child killed after coach carrying dozens of pupils overturns in Somerset

A child has died after a school coach carrying children and staff from a day trip crashed in Somerset. The coach was carrying 60-70 passengers and was heading back to a nearby middle school in Minehead on Thursday afternoon when the incident took place on the A396 at Cutcombe Hill. A local resident said the coach had gone off the road and down a 20-foot slope. Avon and Somerset Police said on Thursday evening that a child had died following the incident. Speaking outside Bridgwater Police Centre, Chief Superintendent Mark Edgington said: 'A number of other people have presented or been taken to hospital, some with serious injuries. 'This includes two children who were taken to hospital by air ambulance, many passengers either sustained minor injuries or were physically unharmed and were transferred to a rest centre. 'Work to help them return to Minehead has been taking place throughout the evening. An investigation into the cause of this incident will be carried out.'
