Ella May Ding responds to pregnancy announcement backlash

A former reality television star has responded to backlash after she turned her pregnancy announcement into a sponsored post. Ella May Ding, who appeared on season 9 of the hit dating show 'Married At First Sight' in 2022, took to Instagram last week to reveal she was expecting her first child with husband Guy Palermo. The images featured the couple wearing all white, and cradling the 30-year-old's tummy with a Clearblue pregnancy test on display — and a note confirming it was an ad. But what should have been a heartfelt moment between the reality star and her fans turned into a debate as some argued it felt 'off' to cash in on a pregnancy announcement. But, more than a week after the announcement, Ms Ding has responded to the backlash. 'It was a no-brainer. When the opportunity came to me, I was like, 'Well, Clearblue literally told me I'm pregnant'. Like, I don't really know how much more you can align with a brand,' she told Yahoo Lifestyle. 'The response I was like, 'That's a bit weird', but at the same time, it made sense to me, and that's like anything that I do, promote or talk about. If it makes sense to me and my people understand, that's all that matters. And if you got offered, you would take it!' She added that having a baby was an expensive feat, particularly with the cost-of-living crisis. Ms Ding posted the announcement last week, with the caption: 'Somewhere between healing and hustling, the next chapter quietly chose us. Baby Palermo you've already made our story sweeter & given us the best news of 2025 yet.' It was signed off with: '#ad #ClearblueConfirmed. Always read the label and follow the directions for use.' One social media user said: 'Nooo this feels off being an ad. Is this the official announcement? Congratulations either way.' And another criticised: 'Wow making money of (sic) the baby already? How desperate are you for cash? I hope you wont be exploiting this baby for content when its born. It's a child not content.' 'I thought this was so odd,' another said. One commented: 'Beautiful news. Just weird how it's a clearblue ad lol.' 'Making money off an unborn baby feels weird to me idk,' one social media user commented. Another said: 'This chick will do anything for money lol.' Ms Ding is certainly not the first influencer or celebrity to do this. Summer House star Lindsay Hubbard announced her pregnancy in a very similar way with the same brand. Fellow US stars such as Daniella Monet and Tamera Mowry have done the same.

Ram Teases 'Big Things' Coming on June 8, Possibly New V-8 TRX

Ram looks to make a "big" announcement on June 8, according to a social-media post. The Instagram video includes a caption that reads, "Fire up the engines—Big things are on the horizon. 06.08.25." Earlier this year, it was reported that Ram is bringing back the V-8-powered TRX, so its return is possibly being teased. Ram is gearing up to reveal something big on June 8, at least that's our takeaway after seeing a post on the brand's Instagram account. It includes a short video of Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis talking to Dave Sparks (a.k.a. "Heavy D" from the TV show Diesel Brothers). The two are standing next to a table full of coffee and snacks when what appears to be a jet-fighter pilot walks up and grabs a cookie off the table before complimenting Tim's jacket and walking away. Along with trying to decipher what the different elements in the video are teasing, the post includes this caption: "Fire up the engines—Big things are on the horizon. 06.08.25." Since Ram builds full-size pickup trucks and commercial vans, everything it does is technically big. Perhaps we're trying too hard to be Detective Benoit Blanc, but the mention of things—as in plural—might mean that Ram plans to announce multiple things. Could there be a diesel-related announcement? It's possible, considering Heavy D's cameo. Could we finally find out the name of Ram's forthcoming mid-size pickup? Sure, anything is possible. But regardless of either of those things being revealed, we think there's a good chance we could learn about the return of Hemi engines to the Ram 1500 lineup, including the V-8-powered TRX. View Photos Marc Urbano | Car and Driver What makes us feel so strongly about a TRX comeback? Well, other than it being a hunch, it was reported earlier this year that Ram plans to bring back the Hellcat-powered pickup. While that has yet to be confirmed, it could be part of the "big" announcement on Sunday, June 8. As for the truck itself, Kuniskis has previously said the next TRX would be more powerful than the last, which suggests it will have more than 702 horsepower. Perhaps the 797-hp Redeye version of the Hellcat V-8 could also come back from the dead. His aspiration growing up was to become a millionaire with a Jay Leno–like car collection. Apparently, getting rich is harder than social-media influencers make it seem, so he avoided financial success entirely to become an automotive journalist and drive new cars for a living. After earning a journalism degree at Central Michigan University and working at a daily newspaper, the years of basically burning money on failed project cars and lemon-flavored jalopies finally paid off when Car and Driver hired him. Taylor Swift Fans Notice Telling Detail on Instagram Account

Heading into Monday night's American Music Awards, there has been a lot of speculation that pop sensation Taylor Swift would make a major announcement during the event. A telling move over the weekend seems to be adding fuel to that speculation. Throughout her career, Taylor Swift has made a habit of teasing major news and announcements by providing hints and Easter eggs for her fans which include hidden symbols, secret messages in her social media posts, hidden meaning on her website, or even symbolism in the way that she dresses. Earlier this month, fans noticed what they felt was a pretty telling Easter egg from the pop sensation as she changed the first letter of all of the categories atop her official merch shop to spell out "AMAs" – Apparel, Music, Accessories, and Sale. This, coupled with quite a few much more subtle possible hints, has led some fans to expect that an announcement could be coming during the AMAs on Monday night. And ahead of the event, Taylor seems to have made a pretty telling move. Over the weekend, several Taylor Swift fan accounts noticed that the Taylor Swift official Instagram account seems to have scheduled a post to be published at some point in the future, indicating a possible impending announcement. This was discovered because the count of the number of posts from the account increased by one, but no additional post was yet visible in the pop star's feed. It's worth noting that this was not a consistent phenomenon for everyone and it seems to have since been corrected, but several accounts shared screenshots of the instance with one fan even showing a video recording of their screen to prove that it was not a photoshoot. There's always a chance that it could be a simple glitch. But this, coupled with all of the other Easter eggs Swifties noticed leading up to the AMAs on Monday night, has certainly convinced a large number of fans that an announcement is indeed on the horizon. We'll have to see whether or not the pop sensation makes the expected announcement on Monday night.
