This upcoming Apple promo could be your best chance to save before the fall semester

Apple is preparing to launch its annual back-to-school promotion in the United States, with this year's deal set to go live on June 17. As with previous years, the company will offer gift cards alongside its existing education discounts on select Mac and iPad purchases. The timing lines up with Apple's usual summer playbook. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, this year's campaign will follow the same structure seen in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Buyers eligible for Apple's education pricing — including students, parents, faculty, and staff — will receive a gift card when purchasing qualifying products. The exact value of the gift cards has yet to be officially confirmed, but in past years, Apple has offered between $100 and $150 with MacBook models and around $50 to $100 with iPads. Eligible devices typically include the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, iPad Air, and iPad Pro, though some exclusions may promotion will be layered on top of Apple's standard education store pricing, which already reduces the cost of eligible products by a small margin. For example, a base-model MacBook Air may be priced about $100 lower through the education store compared to the regular retail price. Together with the gift card, this can bring meaningful savings — especially for students preparing for the upcoming academic year. M4 iPad Pro. | Image credit — PhoneArena Apple's back-to-school program is also a strategic push to drive hardware sales during the typically slower summer season. The company often refreshes its Mac and iPad lineups earlier in the year to ensure newer models are available during the promo window. While no major new hardware is expected to drop in June, Apple has already updated its iPad Pro and iPad Air lines in the will be able to access the deal through Apple's online education storefront or by visiting Apple Store locations in the US. Proof of eligibility is usually required, and Apple uses a third-party verification service to confirm student or educator status. The offer is expected to run through early September, giving shoppers several weeks to take advantage of the deal ahead of the fall semester. We will be sure to post any updates once the deals go live, but let us know in the comments below you already have something in mind you'd like to purchase from Apple taking advantage of the back to school promotion.

Aldi reveals when cheap school uniforms are coming back – and it's earlier than ever

Aldi's famous school uniform bundle is back and landing earlier than ever. Parents will be able to get their hands on the budget-busting Back to School range. 1 The bundle includes two polo shirts, a sweatshirt or cardigan, and a choice of trousers, skirt or cargo shorts – all for a fiver. That's right, a full school uniform for just £5. Aldi has confirmed the range will hit supermarket stores on Saturday June 29. The supermarket giant has frozen the price for the fourth year running, helping cash-strapped families stretch their budgets during the cost-of-living crunch. But you'll need to move fast – like all of Aldi's Specialbuys, once they're gone, they're gone. It's no wonder this deal flies off the shelves every year. With prices starting from just £1.50, and sizes available for kids aged 4 to 12, it's the perfect chance to get ahead of the summer scramble and sort schoolwear early. Whether you're prepping for reception or restocking for Year 6, this deal's a no-brainer. And Aldi isn't skimping on quality either – the uniforms come with a 12-month satisfaction guarantee, giving parents peace of mind that the kit will survive through the year. The eco-conscious will be pleased too as the range is made using recycled polyester and supports Cotton Made in Africa, so kids can stay smart without costing the Earth. Aldi shoppers demand Walmart-style checkout policy to be axed after customer stunned by item 'loophole' With shoppers expected to flock to stores, Aldi's urging parents to mark their calendars and stock up before shelves are stripped bare. The deal will only be available in stores so you'll have to head to your local Aldi. It's worth calling up ahead and checking if they're in stock before making a trip. How does it compare? At Asda, the same bundle - two shirts, a cardigan and a skirt – will set you back £18. For boys, a sweatshirt, two-pack shirts and cargo shorts comes to £18.50. Over at Tesco, you're looking at £6 for two shirts, £4 for a sweatshirt and £9 for cargo shorts – a total of £19. And if your little one wears a pinafore, a two-pack will cost you £10. This makes Aldi's uniform deal the cheapest by far. Its always good to compare prices across different stores to make sure you're getting the best bang for your buck. How to compare prices to get the best deal JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn't mean it's always a good deal. There are plenty of comparison websites out there that'll check prices for you - so don't be left paying more than you have to. Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers. Here are some that we recommend: Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results. Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock. Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one. CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of. Save money Aldi How to save money when shopping at Aldi Unlike other major grocers, Aldi does not have a rewards or point card system but that does not mean you cannot save on your shop. Every week the store releases a list of special buys, which are unique bargain products you find online at Aldi and in store. The store releases a fresh range of deals every Thursday and Sunday, so be sure to check regularly to see what's new. Meanwhile, the store also regularly sells fruit and vegetables at highly discounted prices, as part of its 'super six' deal. It also does weekly saving offers on typically pricey items such as meat and fish. Plus, it's worth keeping an eye out for products with red stickers on them. These are added to items that have been reduced due to them being close to their best before date or slightly damaged. The best time to get these reduced products is towards the end of the day, when you can get discounts worth up to 75%. How can I save money on school uniforms? IF you are struggling to afford the cost of school uniform or PE kit, you may be able to apply for a grant from your local council - but the criteria vary from council to council. This is usually in the form of a one-off payment paid directly into your bank account. Some councils will reimburse payments made to approved retailers. You can ask your local council what help is available and when you need to apply. If you can't get targeted help from your council, there are other options to get cheap uniform. Speak to your school to see if they can offer you some clothing. Some charities offer help to families in need too. Charity Turn2Us has a free grants search tool on its website which you can use to find out what help is available to you. Charity shops can also be a good place to find cheap school uniform.

Mum avoids paying £50 for school shoes in September as she makes early start buying uniform & nabs same pair for £18.80

A MUM has shared how she managed to save herself a tonne of cash by getting an early start on the uniform buying ahead of the new school year. It can cost parents a fortune stocking up on uniform, shirts, bags, stationery and shoes for kids starting back at school in September. 3 3 But Sophie revealed she decided to get a head start, and has consequently saved money. "Trying to be savvy and get a head start on buying school uniform ready for September for my son," she wrote in a post on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook. "I loved the school shoes he had this year, they have lasted the whole year!" The shoes in question are the Hush Puppies Levi ones, for which she paid £45 last year. When she went on the hunt for the same shoes this time around, she found they are going for £50 on Debenhams. But with another search, she came across the shoes on the Sainsbury's website for £18.80. "So naturally I bought 2 pairs!" she added. Sophie also shared screenshots of the other uniform bits she'd picked up from Sainsbury's - including a two-pack of white polo shirts for £4.80 and two pairs of grey trousers for £5.60. "Virtually done uniform shopping already!" Other mums and dads quickly flooded the comments section, with one writing: "I always start now with the uniform shopping!" I make the UK's most controversial school uniform As others warned Sophie that she might end up spending even more if her son has a growth spurt before September. "Oh my, I did this and he grew two sizes before starting school," one admitted. "Maybe best holding off on the shoes!" "I try to be this savvy and buy the next size up and then she'll have a growth spurt," another said. "Over the Christmas break, she went up two shoe sizes. Two!" To which Sophie replied: "Hoping that doesn't happen for me. IF you can't get targeted help from your council, you might have some other options available to you. In some areas, you can talk directly to your school, which might be able to offer you clothing. Or, you might be able to get cheap garments from low-budget shops or charity stores. Some charities offer help to families in need too. But bear in mind charities often have a limited amount of money to give and usually have specific criteria which must be met in order to get a grant. Charity Turn2Us has a free grants search tool on its website which you can use to find out what help is available to you. Meanwhile, you can always try approaching your nearest Citizens' Advice branch. If you don't know where your nearest Citizens' Advice branch is, you can find out by visiting If you're not eligible for a school uniform grant you might be able to get help through the Household Support Fund. "My son's a very slow grower and has been in size 8's almost a year now so hoping the 9 will be okay come September." "I never buy new school uniform each year," someone else wrote. "My kids grow through the year still and ruin so many tops and trousers. "I just replace when needed - except the jumper and shoes." "Fair play to those who can do this, but I couldn't mine all have a growth spurt during the summer holidays," another agreed. "What I'd buy now probably won't fit and I certainly couldn't 'guess' their foot size for September. "They'd end up either being too big or too small. Lol!" "My son is tiny and has been in size 8 shoes almost a year now with no sign of needing a bigger size just yet so I've bought the next size up too just in case," Sophie responded.

United Way's Heel & Soul shoe drive

VESTAL, NY (WIVT/WBGH) – We're on the cusp of back-to-school shopping, and a local non-profit is taking donations of shoes to make sure every student has a new pair. The United Way of Broome County is hosting its second year of the Heel and Soul Project. The charitable arm of Auchinachie Services, called Auchinachie Cares, donated one thousand dollars to the project to help purchase pairs of shoes. Now through July 25th, you can donate at the United Way's facility on Jensen Road in Vestal, or at one of the twenty drop off sites. Executive Director Paula Perna is hoping to raise over one-thousand pairs of shoes this year. 'Last year, we distributed probably 320 pairs of sneakers. The line was very long and a lot of people had to be turned away. So, we want more shoes this year, more sneakers this year. We're going to be distributing them in early August before the start of the school year,' says Perna. The United Way asks that the pairs of shoes are brand new, ideally sneakers or boots. They're looking for a wide range of sizes, to accommodate students 18 years and younger. For a list of drop off locations, go here. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
