Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model reveals how breast reduction surgery helped ease chronic health condition

Sports Illustrated model Gigi Robinson has detailed how her breast reduction surgery has helped with her chronic health condition. Gigi, 27, explained she had a breast reduction to help with her debilitating pain due to Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. 'I was diagnosed with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome at around 10 or 11 and that was really challenging,' she told The New York Post. Ehlers-Danlos syndrome is a group of rare genetic disorders that affect the body's connective tissues including skin, joints, and blood vessels, per NHS. It is usually marked by overly flexible joints, chronic soft and stretchy skin that can easily bruise, frequent joint dislocations, and chronic pain. 'I grew up with chronic migraines, chronic fatigue, pain, brain fog — a lot of different symptoms — and by the time I got to college, I really realized how much of an impact living with a chronic illness had on me,' she shared. The swimsuit model said the surgery 'was never a cosmetic thing.' 'My goal was not to get a breast reduction to be smaller or to lose weight,' she explained. The model, who was a Sports Illustrated Swim Search finalist in 2022, had the surgery to reduce her size from a 34E down to a 34B (post-surgery) 'My goal was rooted in my desire to overcome chronic illness.' Gigi said she fits into size 4 or 6, but had to size up to a 10 or 12 just to fit her bras under her clothes pre-surgery. The model, who was a Sports Illustrated Swin Search finalist in 2022, had the surgery to reduce her size from a 34E down to a 34B. 'I could not exercise without a lot of pressure in my neck and my shoulders and my back,' Gigi said. 'And getting imaging and trying things like acupuncture and cupping, cold plunge, sauna — all those things have helped me with my pain and fatigue, but it was so specific to my upper abdominals and upper body.' In 2022, the model had surgery to help with her chronic pain and switched to an organic diet, but her neck and shoulder pain still lingered. 'That's when I really made the decision to go forward and consider a breast reduction,' she detailed to the outlet. 'I had three or four different consults and all the doctors said, "We think you could benefit from this." 'And I think the only regret I have — like many other women — is I wish I did this sooner.' When she had the surgery earlier this year, Gigi said doctors told her they were unsure what size she would be after the procedure. 'They have a certain amount of tissue that they have to keep alive and keep in order to make your body still function the right way,' she explained. 'But what she can confirm is that 'things fit way different than they used to — in a good way.' In January, she confirmed her size was now 34B in a before and after TikTok video. 'The 34E to 34B shift is wild to me. I'm so happy. Can't wait to be on this journey with you,' her caption read. In the clip, Gigi wore the same work-out set before and after the surgery to show the difference. After the surgery, the model wanted to share a message for people who think that if you want a breast reduction, you should 'just lose weight.' 'You have to think about the limitations that people living with a larger chest and/or a chronic illness may be suffering,' she said. 'Losing weight is not necessarily a great option. It also perpetuates the idea that you're getting a breast reduction because you wanna be smaller.' She also wanted to be transparent that the surgery was only a two- to four-hour outpatient procedure. 'The doctor comes in marks you up with a sharpie and shows you kind of where he's going to cut — my doctor said, "It's like we're doing origami, but with your boobs" and then you go into the room, and then you wake up in the outpatient room and obviously you are coming out of anesthesia so you're a little loopy,' she shared. Gigi said the drains on the side of her breasts, which are small tubes in the incision site to drain liquid - were the only painful part. Though she admitted 'the first week was hard,' she felt fine after the first five days.

I flew to Poland to get rid of my 36H ‘Quasimodo' boobs after I struggled to eat – I had a kilo of tissue removed

STANDING in the queue at the supermarket, Hannah Davison feels a burning sensation in her neck. While it might be alarming for some, the hairdresser is all too aware of what is causing her chronic pain. 8 8 8 Her 36H breasts are the culprit with Hannah claiming she was 'on the way to having a hunchback' like the famous bellringer Quasimodo. But Hannah, 33, can now hold her head (and neck) up high after having surgery to reduce her boobs by five cup sizes to a 34C. She flew to Wroclaw, Poland, on April 14 to have breast reduction surgery where over a kilogram of tissue was removed from her chest. The two-hour long surgery cost £3,373 after Hannah received a discount for paying through her Monzo card. Now five cup sizes smaller, Hannah feels the hunch at the top of her neck caused by her boobs is "already going" and her daily pain has 'disappeared literally overnight'. Hannah, who lives with her husband in Greater Manchester, says: "I felt like I was on my way to having a hunchback. 'It panicked me at first because it felt like there could be something really wrong. 'I'm a hairdresser so I'm on my feet all day and using my arms. 'I struggled to stand up for periods of time. 'I'd have a burning sensation in the top of my neck. I got my DD implants removed & went back down to a B-cup - trolls say I went from a 7 to a 4 but I LOVE my new look 'I'd have to sit down for half an hour until it stopped.' Hannah says that even simple tasks like eating proved a huge challenge. "Even eating a meal before I was hunched because my boobs would mean my back was pushed down,' she explains. 'My posture was a huge problem.' The hairdresser says that her life has totally transformed since her surgery, and she's not the only one who has noticed the difference. "Everyone has just been looking at them so shocked at how good they look and how it completely changed the frame of my body as well,' she says. 'I look smaller, they were so big and pronounced and changed the frame of body. 'Now they look a lot more natural as well and the pain has been severely reduced. 8 8 8 "It's a better quality of life and I'm a lot more comfy in my own skin, which I can say I've never had because I've had big boobs since I was 14." Hannah's back pain began when she was just 21 when she began hairdressing. She said: "As the years have gone on - I'm 33 now - it's just got progressively worse, and I had a hunch at the top of my back. "Standing up and moving my arms in a certain way gave me a burning pain in the back of my neck." Hannah first heard about the procedure after a friend flew abroad for a breast augmentation in March 2025 at Europe Surgery, a clinic in Wroclaw, Poland. She says: "My decision to go was very last minute. "I'd wanted surgery done since I was 21 but it was always unreachable due to the price in the UK. 'I went to Mya Cosmetic Surgery about six years ago and got a quote for £8,000 for the same procedure. "It was way out of range for me. "The last thing I heard was that the wait list [on the NHS] was six years and you had to go through extreme mental health screening. 'I didn't want to wait any longer. 'I had the savings anyway but I didn't want to dip into them, so I worked six days a week for six weeks to make the money I needed for my surgery.' Hannah emailed the clinic in January 2025 and had her surgery just six weeks later. She says: "The clinic has a Facebook page with over 17,000 members so you get to see loads of different people's point of view. "I'm now four weeks post-op and I feel absolutely fine. "I started back at the gym two weeks post-op. "My best friend is a nurse and she can't believe how neat the incisions look." Hannah stayed overnight at Europe Surgery's clinic before staying a further five days at a hotel, while she waited to be fit to fly home to the UK. She says: "A few times I was worried I could feel fluid inside my breast, so I just went straight in. "All the nurses are so lovely. "The whole experience pain wise was a five out of 10. "The only annoyance of the whole process is the healing as you have to do nothing. "Other than that, it was a great experience." She estimates that "just over a kilo and a half" of breast tissue was removed in the surgery. She adds: "I've always been into the gym and training, and I feel like my body composition would never change. "No matter how much I trained it would never make a difference. "Now I can wear nice gym clothes." 8 8

I hated my massive 36J boobs that dangled ‘down to my stomach' – but had to go abroad for risky op as no one would help

A MUM with massive boobs dangling "down to her stomach" was forced to travel over a thousand miles for a risky operation when no one would help. Zara Armstrong, 39, flew to Lithuania and forked out £4,000 for breast reduction surgery - after years of mental and physical suffering. 5 5 Despite regular appointments with her doctor for back aches, she claims she was refused an operation to reduce the size of her 36J cup breasts by the HSE, Ireland's national Health Service. In an interview with The Sun, she spoke of her turmoil leading up to the "life-changing" surgery and why she wishes she could have had it sooner. She said: "I was constantly hunched over because they were so heavy. My back was always sore, I was at the doctors all the time and had to take strong painkillers. "I had to get massages done on my shoulders after for a bit because I was tense from being hunched over." The psychological trauma, however, was sometimes worse than the physical pain, with many of her formative years spent trying to cover her assets. She said: "I was so self-conscious all the time. Just really insecure. When I was younger, probably 13 or 14, I used to tape them down. "I found women were worse than men. People would be talking to me but I knew they weren't really talking to me. "On holiday, I would constantly be looked at with people commenting: 'Oh my God, your boobs are big'. "I was put on anti-depressants over it because I was so self-conscious and anxious." Finding clothes to fit her small frame and big bust also proved a logistical nightmare and she was often forced to buy tops that were 10 sizes too big. I was left with saggy, bowling ball boobs after kids so got a 'Lithuania lift' for £6.2K - now I have my 24-year-old perky breasts back Women seeking breast reduction surgery on the NHS might be covered if they can prove other options, such as wearing professionally fitted bras, have not worked. They may also be considered for treatment if they can prove their breasts are causing undue mental or physical pain. But the criteria is dependent on where you live. According to Dr. Mantas Kievisas, a plastic surgeon at Nordesthetics clinic where Zara was treated, patients often must prove "exceptional circumstances" to be treated by public healthcare providers. "They must endure long waiting lists, and often face outright rejection, forcing them to turn to private care," he said. I was sick of my 28Gs so went to the 'booby doc' for a reduction – I had to wear 'heavy duty' bras & was in so much pain By Claudia Jackson A WOMAN has opened up about her choice to get a reduction after struggling with her 28G breasts. Siff Haider discussed her surgery on The Dream Bigger podcast, and admitted that people don't realise how hard it can be. The entrepreneur and podcast host explained she wanted a breast reduction for years before she finally went through with it. "It is very impractical to do regular things with boobs that size, quite frankly," she said. Running and working out required "heavy duty" sports bras, and Siff experienced shoulder, back and neck pain, all because of her chest size. "I was just always sore in my upper body and I was just kind of done with it," she said. But with private surgery in the UK costing up to £10,000, many women have chosen to go abroad to undergo the life-altering operation. For Zara, the thought of going under the knife abroad was "scary" because of being so far from home. But the operation "couldn't have gone better" - going from a 36J cup to a more manageable 36D. She is now encouraging women to take the leap if the NHS or HSE refuse them an operation. She said: "It's life changing. I just feel like a completely different person. "I've got a new lease of life and I'm so much happier and I just wish I had done it years ago and not been so afraid." Two kilos removed from breasts Since the operation, when two kilograms were removed from her breasts, Zara's confidence has sky-rocketed. So much so, she even has plans to come off her antidepressants. She said: "I'm not hunched over now. I can straighten my back and my shoulders. "I'm so much more confident. I went away last September and I was able to put a bikini on and not be afraid or wear a little top and not be self-conscious. "I could wear it and nobody even looked - it was great. I was no longer nervous about going out or anxious about being stared at." Mater Hospital said: "The Mater Misericordiae University Hospital's priority is to be at the frontier of compassion, concern and clinical care for all our patients and their families. "The Mater Hospital cannot comment on individual patient cases for confidentiality reasons. "Maintaining a patient's confidentiality is not only an ethical requirement of the hospital, it is also a legal requirement as defined in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) along with the Data Protection Acts 1988-2018. "When a patient or family makes personal information public, this does not relieve the Mater Hospital of its duty to uphold patient confidentiality at all times. "If any patient has any concerns about the treatment they received at the Mater Hospital, we encourage them to get in contact either by phone, email or letter. "We are committed to listening and learning from our valued patients' experiences to constantly improve the services we provide." 5 5

Rhian Sugden puts on a busty display in a sheer mesh bodysuit as she prepares for breast reduction surgery

Rhian Sugden put on a busty display in a sheer mesh bodysuit as she prepares to undergo breast reduction. The glamour model, 38, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a racy snap as she slipped into a busty bodysuit with leopard print lining. She posed up a storm as she sat on the edge of her bed to take the busty selfie, as she counted down to her surgery. Rhian recently revealed she wanted to get breast reduction surgery as her size F-cup bust make it 'unbearable' to walk. 'One month to go until my breast uplift + reduction = one perkier, lighter, better version of me incoming!' Rhian captioned the selfie. 'The countdown to the boob reboot is ON! @pallmallcosmetics ✨.' 'One month to go until my breast uplift + reduction = one perkier, lighter, better version of me incoming!' Rhian captioned the selfie Rhian previously shared a comparison photo of her breasts - one showing her current large breasts and another showing what they looked like before. She also posted several screenshots of cruel comments from trolls criticising her decision to reduce her size, before revealing her 'soon-to-be nipple position' to her followers. Explaining her reasons for wanting the surgery, Rhian said: '12 months ago before I got pregnant my boobs where large but still at a manageable size of a DD/E cup.' 'After having a baby my size has increased to an F and I'm spilling out of my bras even at that size. I'm having an uplift and a reduction.' 'Boob experts (men) are messaging me telling me to just lose weight and they'll shrink. Look at me!?? I'm the size I was yet despite your professional advice my melons haven't shrunk. Who'd have thought?' She went on: 'My back hurts. I long to wear backless dresses. Buy sexy lingerie, wear no bra when I go out, run, swim without them falling out of my swim suit. They don't make me happy this big. 'Messaging me and calling me deluded for wanting a reduction to go back to the size I was 12 months ago - is absurd. Seriously, what is wrong with humans these days. 'It's MY body. It's my Happiness and it's MY choice. 'The surgeon has said my nipples are 11 centimetres LOWER than they should be, that my friends is not where I want them. 'I'm sharing my journey as it's a very big and yes, scary move for me but this is something I NEED to do for myself. To make myself feel better. 'It'd be nice to have support and people that don't have anything nice to say just don't say anything at all ❤️' The bombshell's saucy snaps came after she recently hit back at claims of 'marital issues' between her and actor husband Oliver Mellor, 44. Rhian broke her silence last month after slamming Oliver online for 'going out drinking' while she and George were both rushed to A&E. The model's 501,000 followers were quick to compliment her on her 'gorgeous' look in her new photos . Rhian and Oliver welcomed their first child, George, in April 2024 after a challenging journey which involved undergoing eight gruelling rounds of IVF, costing £150,000. The model revealed how the pair faced numerous hurdles, including a miscarriage scare at six weeks and a dramatic birth that required George to receive emergency oxygen, but despite that, his arrival took 'all the years of pain away'. Rhian recently hit out at her former Coronation Street star husband after he 'went out drinking' while she'd been rushed to hospital twice with Quinsy - a 'Victorian disease' that left her in 'agony', while George had been struck down with possible measles. She fumed: 'Anyone else ever been so ill they've ended up in A&E twice in two days and yet their husband would rather go out drinking with his mates instead of helping at home, or am I just the unfortunate one?' Rhian later to her Stories to claim she was 'hormonal, ill, and momentarily lost the plot' - and revealed her husband 'deeply regrets choosing pints over paracetamol'. She shared two jokey newspaper-style updates with her 502,000 followers. In the first, she posted a snap of Oliver feeding some goats and quipped: 'Husband finally breaks silence to the goats at the petting zoo. 'Sources say he deeply regrets choosing pints over paracetamol. Relationship experts (and one particularly nosy goat) remain divided.'
