I've stared into eyes of serial killers & seen the face of evil – why cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer is the worst I ever met
WHEN journalist Nancy Glass stared into the eyes of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer - she realised he was unlike any other murderer she'd sat in front of. Glass - a six-time Emmy award-winning producer - spoke to twisted cannibal Dahmer in a 1993 TV interview, a year before he was murdered in prison at the hands of a fellow inmate. 12 12 12 12 It was the first time the serial killer had ever given a public interview since being sentenced to life in prison for the murders of 17 men and boys, with the chat airing on CNN's Inside Edition. Speaking to The Sun, Nancy, who has interviewed other murderers and criminals in her illustrious career, explained what made Dahmer the most chilling of all to speak to. She said: "My first impression of Dahmer was how normal he appeared. "It makes you think that anybody could be capable of crimes like this. "If he had acted like a maniac, I would have been more relieved." She said Dahmer was "not charming", but at the same time, "you wouldn't have picked him out of a crowd". Although she doesn't know exactly why Dahmer agreed to an interview with him, she believes one reason was simply that he was "lonely" and "wanted to talk". Getting an interview with Dahmer was no easy task. It took more than a year and a half to secure the exclusive, building a relationship with the murderer and his family. Nancy, now 69, said: "He wanted to talk to somebody and he had gotten used to talking to me. 12 12 12 Jeffrey Dahmer was the devil's best friend. I believe he killed more than 16. I can never forgive him but it's helping others that carries me through. She made it clear there were no conditions for the interview - and that she would let him speak. In this way, he revealed his true evil self. Nancy said: "His mind is not like yours and mine. He was so twisted. "The only thing that is fair is the truth. I'm not there to prosecute him, but by telling the truth, people realise what evil was there, and the intentionality of it." She added: "I've interviewed other serial killers, and he wasn't like any of them." Nancy recalled an interview with Joel Rifkin, who murdered between nine and 17 women between 1989 and 1993. She said killers usually blame something or someone for pushing them to commit their crimes. Let's not sugarcoat this, he was a psychopath. I had no sympathy whatsoever Nancy GlassJournalist In contrast, she said, Dahmer "put his crimes on himself. He knew what he did". Through speaking to him, it was clear he was "sad" at his predicament. She said: "He stayed up all night and slept all day because he couldn't face the daylight. Although in the interview, Dahmer says sorry for his crimes, Nancy believes he "didn't understand what that meant". She went on: "Let's not sugarcoat this. He was a psychopath. I had no sympathy whatsoever." Throughout their interview, which resurfaced in the wake of the Netflix limited series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, the killer never lets the mask slip, maintaining a polite, almost shy facade throughout. For Nancy, who had read all of the depositions and knew details of Dahmer's murders too gruesome to be shared with the public, the contrast between his calm demeanour in front of her and what he had done was even more chilling. 12 12 12 "It's so baffling how anybody could be so cruel and do such terrible things," she said. "There are crimes of passion and crimes of revenge, but this was the intentional destruction of human life. "You ask, how could anybody be this way?" In the aftermath of her bombshell interview, Nancy said Dahmer and his family were furious with her. Dahmer's parents even complained to Nancy: "You've made him look like a monster!" But as Nancy responded, Dahmer "made himself look like a monster". She added: "I don't want a criminal to be pleased with their portrayal." Today, Nancy is CEO of Glass Entertainment Group and has more than 22 TV shows and podcasts currently in production in the US. In the years since she has spoken further to Dahmer's family. "They are still unhappy with the interview," she said, "but they've come to terms with who he is." Just a year after the interview aired, Dahmer was killed in prison by a fellow inmate in Wisconsin - where he was serving 16 life sentences for his vile murders. Dahmer's chilling spree Dahmer is known to have murdered 17 times, with many of his victims being gay and from an ethnic minority background. His first victim was 18-year-old Steven Hicks, who he killed in June 1978 after luring him back to his house for drinks. Steven was strangled with a dumbbell before Dahmer dissolved his body in acid and crushed his bones with a sledgehammer. It wasn't until November 1987 that the killer struck again, when he killed 24-year-old Steven Tuomi, who he had met at a gay bar. Three months later, in January 1988, Dahmer murdered 14-year-old James Doxtator, who had run away from home just two days before he met his killer. The serial killer was now on a streak, murdering 22-year-old Richard Guerrero in March 1988, and 24-year-old Anthony Sears one year later - whose head and genitals Dahmer kept as 'trophies'. After being imprisoned for a year for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old, the killer struck as soon as he was out, murdering 32-year-old sex worker Raymond Smith in May 1990. In June 1990, Dahmer murdered 27-year-old Edward Smith, an acquaintance of his, before stashing his body parts in his freezer. Then in September 1990, he struck twice, killing Ernest Miller and David Thomas, both aged 22. The following year, in February 1991, Dahmer offered money to 17-year-old Curtis Straughter to post nude, only to drug, strangle and cannibalize him. In April 1991, Dahmer killed 19-year-old Errol Lindsey, after drilling a hole in his head and pouring acid into his brain. May 1991 saw two more killings - Anthony Hughes, 31, and Konerak Sinthasomphone, 14 - with Dahmer repeating his drilling 'experiment' on Konerak. Over June and July 1991, Dahmer murdered Matthew Turner, 20, Jeremiah Weinburger, 23, Oliver Lacy 24, and Joseph Bradehoft, 25. But his luck ran out on July 22 of that year, when 32-year-old Tracy Edwards - who had been lured to his house - managed to escape and alert police.

Did Trump nab his Hannibal Lecter? At ‘Alligator Alcatraz', Kristi Noem says ICE ‘detained a cannibal'
Hello, Clarice? More than a year after President Donald Trump started making regular mentions of 'the late, great Hannibal Lecter,' the fictional Baltimore psychiatrist turned serial killer, on the campaign trail, it appears the federal government has finally rid the country of a real-life immigrant cannibal. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem made the eyebrow-raising revelation during an appearance alongside Trump while visiting a makeshift immigrant detention facility in the Florida Everglades that has been dubbed 'Alligator Alcatraz' by Sunshine State officials and the president's supporters. 'They said that they had detained a cannibal and put him on a plane to take him home, and while they had him in his seat, he started to eat himself, and they had to get him off and get him medical attention,' Noem said. The revelation came as Noem detailed the Trump administration's efforts to find and deport millions of migrants who have been living and working in the country, often with official work authorizations, over the last few years. She said the remote Florida facility was going to play a role in removing people who refuse to 'self-deport' or who are caught breaking other laws while here illegally. Noem also said her department is 'going after murderers and rapists and traffickers and drug dealers and getting them off the streets and getting them out of this country.' She went on to accuse Trump's predecessor, former President Joe Biden, of allowing in 'the worst of the worst,' citing an incident described to her by U.S. Marshals who were working with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. Noem added that individuals such as that alleged 'cannibal' were 'the kind of deranged individuals that are on our streets in America that we're trying to target and get out of our country because they are so deranged, they don't belong here.' 'They shouldn't be walking the streets with our children, and they shouldn't be living in the communities with our families who just want to grow up ... raise their children to grow up and get a job and to live the American dream,' she added. A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson told The Independent that Noem was referring to an incident she'd alluded to in a post to X on June 27 in which she'd posted a photo of herself onboard an 'ICE Air' flight she was using to return from Guatemala after her own plane malfunctioned. The former South Dakota governor's reference to cannibalism evoked Trump's frequent invocation of Dr. Lecter, a serial killer whose first literary appearance was in author Thomas Harris' 1981 novel Red Dragon but who later took iconic status based on Sir Anthony Hopkins' portrayal of the character in the 1991 film adaptation of Harris' sequel, The Silence of the Lambs. The president often brought up the character in public remarks during his 2024 presidential campaign, including his acceptance speech at last year's Republican National Convention while discussing the caliber of people who were allegedly migrating into the U.S. under Biden. 'Has anyone seen 'The Silence of the Lambs'? The late, great Hannibal Lecter. He'd love to have you for dinner. That's insane asylums. They're emptying out their insane asylums,' he said. Ironically, Trump's frequent claim that he wants to establish a more 'merit-based' immigration system makes the fictional cannibal just the kind of immigrant who would benefit from his plans. According to Harris' 2006 novel, Hannibal Rising, Lecter was the son of a wealthy Lithuanian family whose parents were killed during the Second World War, who later attended medical school in France before being accepted for a residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Trailer For The Post-Apocalyptic Neo-Western Cannibal Thriller FORGIVE US ALL — GeekTyrant
Samuel Goldwyn Films has released a trailer for an upcoming film titled Forgive Us All, a post-apocalyptic neo-western cannibal thriller. This is the story of "redemption in a world gone dark." The New Zealand film 'imagines a fallen world where trust is dead, the forest is crawling with cannibals, and your only hope might just be a complete stranger.' Lily Sullivan plays 'a lone survivor holed up in a remote mountain cabin, clinging to her own solitude as the world outside descends into blood-soaked chaos. But her fragile sanctuary is shattered when a mysterious man (Lance Giles) stumbles upon her doorstep—pursued by a ruthless, authoritarian gang of outlaws. 'As the unlikely duo must choose between hiding or hacking their way through a forest teeming with flesh-eating infected, the film asks: how much humanity can you keep when the world has lost its own?' There's a virus that turned humans into cannibals known as Howlers. It looks like it might be a decent movie worth checking out if you're into these kinds of stories. Forgive Us All is directed by Jordana Stott, and it will be released direct-to-VOD on July 11th, 2025.

Noem said cannibal tried to eat himself on ICE deportation flight. Here's what we know
In early July 2025, a claim (archived) circulated online that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement attempted to deport a cannibal who tried to eat himself while on board a deportation flight. One X user wrote: "Kristi Noem just revealed one of the illegals they arrested was a cannibal who began to EAT HIMSELF on a deportation flight. THIS is why we need mass roundups. These people are ANIMALS." The claim circulated on Facebook (archived), Instagram (archived), Threads (archived), Bluesky (archived), Reddit (archived) and TikTok (archived). Snopes readers also searched our site and wrote in seeking more information about the claim. It was true that Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said during a news conference at the "Alligator Alcatraz" detention center in Florida on July 1 that ICE agents had to remove an alleged cannibal from a deportation flight after he attempted to eat himself. However, we could not independently verify the incident. We reached out to the Department of Homeland Security and ICE to ask for further details about the alleged incident. We also asked whether the ICE agents in question were wearing bodycams and, if so, whether that footage would be released as proof of the incident. We await replies to our queries. During the July 1 news conference, Noem said: "The other day I was talking to some marshals that have been partnering with ICE. They said that they had detained a cannibal and put him on a plane to take him home and while they had him in his seat, he started to eat himself and they had to get him off and get him medical attention." Noem further described the person as "deranged." According to British media, a DHS spokesperson said Noem was referring to the incident referenced in a June 27, 2025, X post (archived). In that post, Noem wrote, "Had some plane issues on the ride back from Guatemala. Fortunately, an @ICEgov deportation flight carrying criminal illegal aliens had just touched down on the same tarmac in Guatemala. Hitched a ride back to the USA on ICE Air — great flight. Use the @CBP Home App to self deport now!" Cannibals are people who purposely eat human flesh. Cannibalism is not a common practice in modern societies, where the practice is usually forbidden. In the U.S. most states have laws governing the abuse or desecration of a corpse that also apply to cannibalism. "Cannibalism." LII / Legal Information Institute, Accessed 2 Jul. 2025. Kristi Noem Claims Cannibal 'Started to Eat Himself' on ICE Deportation Flight
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, President Donald Trump, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis held a roundtable on Tuesday, July 1 The press conference was live from Florida's Alligator Alcatraz Noem shared an alleged story about a cannibal on an ICE deportation flight that "started to eat himself."Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is claiming that a cannibal on an ICE deportation flight "started to eat himself." Noem made the accusation at a press conference on Tuesday, July 1, held at Florida's Alligator Alcatraz — a detention facility in the Everglades that is part of the new facilities that President Donald Trump's administration approved a plan to help fund in June. "The other day, I was talking to some [U.S.] marshals that have been partnering with ICE. They said that they had detained a cannibal and put him on a plane to take him home, and while they had him in his seat, he started to eat himself and they had to get him off and get him medical attention," said Noem, who held the roundtable with Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. She said that "these are the kind of deranged individuals that are on our streets in America that we're trying to target and get out of our country because they are so deranged they don't belong here." "They shouldn't be walking the streets with our children, and they shouldn't be living in the communities with our families who just want to grow up, go to [their] job, raise their children to grow up and get a job, and to live the American dream," continued Noem. PEOPLE has reached out to the Department of Homeland Security for additional comment. Noem said the Trump administration is "going after murderers and rapists and traffickers and drug dealers and getting them off the streets and getting them out of this country because Joe Biden let the worst of the worst come in here." She described Alligator Alcatraz as an air-conditioned "state-of-the-art" facility with about 3,000 beds that is "isolated" for security purposes. With the existence of detention facilities like Alligator Alcatraz, Noem said it "will allow us to bring individuals across the country that we are bringing in and incarcerating for violating our laws and immediately get them out of the country as soon as we possibly can." Alligator Alcatraz was constructed with assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Shelter and Services Program. According to The Daily Beast, the DeSantis administration utilized its emergency powers to expedite the construction of a $450 million-per-year tent facility in seven days.
