AI cheating runs wild on campus
The use of generative AI has become rampant on college and university campuses across North America. KPMG - who surveyed over 400 Canadian students about this in the fall — found that around 60 per cent use AI models like ChatGPT in their assignments. James Walsh recently wrote a piece in New York Magazine called Everyone is Cheating Their Way Through College, where he spoke to dozens of students, professors, and administrators about the AI cheating surge, and how it's ratcheting up a debate about the future of the higher education system in North America. My husband cheated and I only found out because he gave me an STI
A woman who only found out her husband was cheating because he gave her an STI has opened up about how the shocking discovery tore her world apart. The woman, who will be referred to as the pseudonym Olivia throughout the story as she asked to remain anonymous, explained exclusively to that she met her husband online during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. They hit it off immediately and bonded over late night calls and hours of messaging. They eventually bought a place together in Philadelphia and went on to tie the knot and welcome their two children in quick succession. But their marriage was completely shattered after Olivia discovered that her husband had been unfaithful to her... only after she developed a nasty sexually transmitted infection. She told that she first developed symptoms about two weeks ago, but initially thought it was a UTI. 'I remember I started noticing this greenish discharge coming from me and it had a foul smell,' she explained. 'I thought it was a UTI because I normally get those all the time so I just shrugged it off.' She mentioned it to her husband, who went and got some UTI medicine for her. 'At this time he knew slept with that girl and been keeping it a secret. He knew he had the STI and wasn't going to say anything,' Olivia scathed. Despite taking the medicine, Olivia said her symptoms weren't going away, in fact, they were getting worse. 'Then it starts getting super irritated and itchy, that's when I knew something was off,' she continued. 'Something kept telling me maybe he's not being faithful to you. But I thought it was just my anxiety because I would've never thought he would sleep with someone else.' But as time went on Olivia's suspicions grew, so she decided to confront her husband. She recalled, 'I was like, "I think you've been unfaithful." And he was like, "I don't know what's you're talking about I didn't do anything." 'I'm like, "You gave me something I know you did,' but he kept denying it."' While she let it go in the moment, Olivia was still unconvinced, so a few days later, she asked if she could use his phone for something. She then 'went snooping,' and found shocking messages between him and another woman that confirmed her suspicions. Rather than asking him about them, she gave him the cold shoulder and he eventually confessed to everything. Her husband then revealed that he was sleeping with one of his exes and had caught the STI trichomoniasis from the woman and spread it to Olivia. 'A week later he confessed he said it was eating him up that he was keeping something like this from me,' she revealed. 'My heart shattered. Everything stood still that day it felt like it was a fever dream. 'I couldn't believe my ears. I thought it was a joke - I wanted him to be joking so bad but he wasn't. 'I felt so disgusted with myself I just wanted to vomit, I felt violated in the worst way possible.' She said she 'cried' and 'screamed' at her husband and recalled being 'filled with rage.' 'If it wasn't for the STI I probably would've never known he cheated on me,' she added. 'I hate that it took a STI to show me that he cheated because I'm still suffering from it still even though I got treatment. I just don't want nothing to do with him anymore.' Olivia has now decided to leave her husband, and is now preparing to be a single mom to their two kids. 'I know it'll hurt to leave him but in order for me to be at peace with myself and not think about the cheating and all the stress it put me through I'd rather be a single mom,' she concluded. 'At least I don't have to worry about catching anything else.'

Ace Family YouTuber Catherine Paiz breaks silence over cheating scandal after Austin McBroom break-up
Ace Family YouTuber Catherine Paiz broke down in tears while addressing her ex-husband Austin McBroom's cheating scandals in a new interview. After six years of marriage and building a YouTube empire with over 18 million subscribers, Catherine, 34, and Austin, 33, who share three kids, announced their divorce in 2024. The influencer delved into their split during her appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, where she spoke about the moment she discovered Austin was unfaithful while she was pregnant. At one point her voice cracked as she broke into tears telling host Alex Cooper, 'You never cheat on the person you love.' Seemingly speaking of the number of times Austin allegedly cheated, she quipped, 'I don't remember exactly the first, there were just so many' before saying she found out about 'twenty.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Catherine said she found out about his infidelity after discovering a text from another woman on his phone, while she was pregnant. 'I grabbed the phone. This long text comes through "If you really love your wife." I was like yelling, screaming, "Tell me please, please just tell me who that was. I feel so stupid, just tell me. I'm having a baby, please just tell me."' Catherine then adamantly denied Austin's claim that she had given him permission as long as he didn't 'embarrass' her, stating, 'I never, ever, ever said that.' 'I would never want my kids to think that is okay, to cheat on your husband or your wife.' Breaking into tears, she vowed, 'And I will make sure that I raise them, and that they know that they never, ever do that. Because that is so wrong. And you never cheat on the person you love.' At one point Catherine recalled feeling like she was being 'gaslighted.' She questioned, 'Is he telling the truth? Am I just being all in my head?' 'I was so afraid to say "I'm an idiot." I just didn't see it,' she added. Catherine also claimed: 'I never heard him say the words "I cheated" until about a week ago.' When Alex questioned, 'How many more did you find out about?' Catherine replied, 'There was 20 or something.' Catherine's full interview is set to air on Wednesday. Seemingly speaking of the number of times Austin cheated, she quipped, 'I don't remember exactly the first, there were just so many' before saying she found out about 'twenty'; Pictured in 2022 On May 11, Catherine announced her memoir Dolores: My Journey Home: Finding Myself Beyond the ACE Family. The book, which also touched on Austin's alleged infidelity, will be released on July 1st. McBroom didn't deny the infidelity accusations included in the book, but he asserted in a lengthy Snapchat video that Paiz was aware of his behavior throughout their marriage and that they stayed together for years despite it. Austin has previously been accused of cheating on Catherine multiple times. In 2021 he denied the claims, after YouTuber Tana Mongeau accused him of cheating on his then wife. At the time Austin called Tana a 'clout chaser.' The ACE Family, consisting of Austin, Catherine, and their three children — Elle, eight, Alaia, five, and Steel, four — rose to YouTube fame for their family vlogs. However, in January 2024, Catherine and Austin announced their divorce. In their statements, both Catherine and Austin affirmed they had 'mutually agreed' to the split and would co-parent their young children. In her statement Catherine wrote about feeling 'liberated' while Austin called the divorce the 'hardest decision of my life.' Catherine wrote that their 'paths as a couple have shifted and has created challenges that are irreconcilable.' 'As heartbreaking as this is, I also feel liberated,' she stated. 'I have spent the past few years prioritizing my children and honoring my commitment to my family; all the while I seemed to be losing myself and my own personal happiness.' Meanwhile Austin wrote, 'We created one of the greatest stories, almost a decade together, so many memories, so many accomplishments but every book comes to end.' 'And now we will be writing a new book as separate authors.' The last video on the former couple's channel was uploaded in June 2023. Catherine has since moved on with tattoo artist and painter Igor Ten.

Fake kidnapping in KL: Foreigner studying in Singapore fined US$4,000 by Malaysian court for cheating
KUALA LUMPUR: A foreigner studying in Singapore has been fined RM17,000 (US$4,000) by a Malaysian court for faking another student's kidnapping in Kuala Lumpur. Zhang Runbao pleaded guilty on Tuesday (May 27) to a charge of cheating. He had deceived Cheng Zhiwen, the mother of Ye Yingxi, 18, by staging a video purportedly showing Ye to be a victim of kidnapping. Ye appeared half-naked in the video with his hands tied, mouth sealed with tape and face drenched with water, according to Malaysian news site Free Malaysia Today (FMT). Zhang claimed that Ye had been choked and stomped on, and demanded that Ye's mother transfer the ransom to a bank account in China. The act took place at a hotel along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman in Kuala Lumpur between 11.44am and 9.15pm on May 2, according to FMT. On May 13, Zhang and Ye claimed trial after being jointly charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court for allegedly trying to deceive Cheng into paying a 5 million yuan (US$694,000) ransom. They were reportedly charged at the time with cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property, with cheating – by way of making a video call to Ye's mother and showing her son in a distressing condition – as an alternative charge. Malaysian media reports on Zhang's sentencing describe him as a friend of Ye but, speaking to CNA on May 14, Ye's lawyer Ramesh Sivakumar maintained that his client did not know Zhang. On Tuesday, Judge Azrul Darus also granted Ye a discharge not amounting to an acquittal after Ye's lawyer informed the court that his client's mother did not want to pursue the case and had retracted her police report. According to Malaysian media reports, Zhang is said to be a National University of Singapore (NUS) student while Ye is believed to be a student at the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM). When contacted for comments, both SIM and NUS told CNA previously they were aware of ongoing legal proceedings but did not confirm whether Zhang and Ye were their students. Before the verdict on Tuesday, Deputy Public Prosecutor Noor Syafina Radzuan urged the court to impose a deterrent sentence on Zhang, New Straits Times reported. 'The accused's deceit caused inconvenience to many parties and wasted time and court resources, including police efforts to track him down,' she was quoted as saying. 'The prosecution also requested that the second accused, Ye, be discharged not amounting to an acquittal since Zhang has pleaded guilty,' she added. Ye's lawyer Ramesh Sivakumar had asked the court to discharge and acquit his client, The Star reported. Meanwhile, Zhang's lawyer Ernie Sulastri Ahmad said in mitigation that her client was remorseful and the 10 days he spent in lock-up had served as a lesson. Ernie added that Zhang intends to continue his studies, which are expected to conclude in June next year. If Zhang is unable to pay the fine, he will have to serve six months in prison. His cheating charge under Section 417 of the Penal Code provides for a maximum five-year jail term and fine, upon conviction.
