Baglietto Unveils New Superyacht Concept

Baglietto 53 meter concept What do you get when an Italian shipyard with over 165 years of shipbuilding heritage, a highly experienced Italian yacht designer, and an award-winning, NYC-based design studio that's known for creating distinctive residences, resorts, retail and workspaces throughout the world, announce a new creative partnership? The answer: The Vesta 56 superyacht concept the Baglietto shipyard just unveiled that features elegant exteriors designed by Enrico Gobbi Team for Design and a contemporary interior design by Meyer Davis. For me, one of the cool things about this concept is the way the yachting establishment—Baglietto and the Enrico Gobbi Team for Design—have embraced the fresh ideas that Meyer Davis (relative newcomers to the yachting space that are fresh off their successful debut yacht interior design Seawolf X) brings to the project. Here is the Meyer Davis-designed interior of the Vesta 56 superyacht Baglietto just unveiled 'Vesta 56 is the expression of our philosophy says Fabio Ermetto, CCO of Baglietto. 'With Enrico Gobbiʼs elegant exterior lines and the fresh, sophisticated vision of Meyer Davis, we are creating something extraordinary—an experience that speaks to beauty, innovation, and balance. We're proud to collaborate with design firms that share our passion for timeless yet contemporary style.ˮ The yacht's slender vibe is thanks to design details like ultra-thin aft deck overhangs and long runs of uninterrupted windows that are inspired by aeronautical design. In fact, according to early reports, the intent was to create a yacht defined by 'lines in movement', a sense of continuous flow and energy, even when the yacht is at anchor. Upper deck of the Vesta 56 concept by Baglietto 'The 56 meter Baglietto is characterized by a captivating design, generous spaces, and a sleek and dynamic profile,"says Enrico Gobbi. "The project brief requested for large and comfortable exterior and interior areas, without compromising the aesthetics of the yacht. For this reason, dynamic and stretched lines were chosen to reach the perfect balance between generous volumes and an elegant streamlined profile.' The interplay between exterior and interior is obviously at the center of the design philosophy. The windows are particularly tall to provide panoramic views, while sharp, sculpted elements mix with soft curves to create a distinctive exterior. The Meyer Davis-designed owners suite onboard the Vesta 56 concept yacht from Baglietto Meanwhile Meyer Davis presents an interior design that they say is less about spectacle and more about sensation—a place not just to explore the world, but to feel at home in it. 'We were inspired by the name Vesta 56 for its rich symbolism," says Gray Davis, Co-Founder of Meyer Davis. "The quiet strength of home. The comfort of sanctuary. And the enduring presence of spaces designed not just for living, but for feeling truly at home. Each material, curve, and proportion is imbued with intention to reflect that spirit. The interiors have a quiet strength that marks each space with meaning and memory.' The main deck onboard the Vesta 56 Signature spaces such as the main deck salon, dining room, and upper lounge are designed to nurture connection and comfort. Retractable glass walls are designed to blur the threshold between inside and outside. While architectural lighting and curved built-in furniture capture the changing light that is inherent onboard yachts of this size. The stylish aft deck area of the Vesta 56 concept yacht 'Embracing organic form, personal layers, and lived-in elegance, we designed the yacht to age gracefully, accumulating stories as it travels' says Will Meyer, Co-Founder of Meyer Davis. Amen to that. Watch this space.

Tecno to announce its Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept soon, here's what it looks like

Michail, 08 July 2025 Nearly one year ago, Tecno showcased its first tri-fold concept phone – the Phantom Ultimate 2. That device was later showcased at MWC 2025, and Tecno is now ready to hold a formal announcement. The Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept will be unveiled later this month (mid-July) and we have some early images of the device to share with you today, showcasing the G Fold in its folded and unfolded states. Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold Concept It features an inward-folding design, similar to what Samsung is expected to go with on its own tri-fold. This allows the main display to be completely shielded when folded, providing better protection from accidental damage. We should mention that Tecno's G Fold is still not ready for mass production and will remain a concept for now. Phantom Ultimate G Fold will offer a cover screen on the leftmost part and a triple camera setup. Tecno promises a flat and seamless display when fully unfolded, with no visible crease. This was achieved by combining flexible display layering and developing smaller hinge components for the dual-hinge mechanism. The innovative hinge supports multi-angle hovering and various formations. Tecno also claims the G Fold will be the slimmest tri-fold device to date, which means it will be even thinner than the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate, which measures a mere 3.6mm when unfolded. In related news, tipster Ice Universe shared even more images of the device. BMW Just Unveiled a Bonkers New Superbike With a Nitrous Oxide Power Boost

BMW continues to use its concepts as an opportunity to show off. The German marque's motorcycle division, BMW Motorrad, has just unveiled an outrageous new concept called the Titan. The futuristic prototype features a super aggressive design and a nitrous oxide cannister for a (theoretical) performance boost. More from Robb Report Meet Bentley's All-Electric EXP 15 Concept, a Majestic and Menacing Vision of the Future A Modern Home in Jackson Hole's Exclusive Snake River Sporting Club Lists for $10 Million A Zen-Like Hamptons Estate Inspired by Tadao Ando Lists for $19 Million The Titan is based on the new R 1300 R, which launched earlier this year. The production model is classified as a sport tourer, but the concept has the look of a full-on superbike. It's much more streamlined than its real-world counterpart, with the lack of clunky cladding meaning that its Wilbers chassis, powertrain, and extra-long swinging arm are on full display. The bike also features a sharper front cow with a razor-thin front lamp, an intimidating titanium exhaust system, and a video game-like livery that manages to work in all of BMW's trademark colors. The company has built its fair share of sporty bikes over the years, but the Titan takes things to another level. It makes sense that BMW Motorrad would want to highlight the Titan's powertrain, of course. The bike, like the R 1300 R, is powered by the company's most powerful boxer engine yet. Here, that mill, which already produces 140 hp and 110 ft lbs of torque, is also accompanied by a nitrous oxide bottle. The press release announcing the prototype is short of performance numbers—as tends to be the case with concepts—but does promise that the addition results in 'extra power' going forward. We can't be sure, but it wouldn't be all that surprising if the Titan is capable of bettering the R 1300 R's 3.4-second zero-to-62 mph time and 124 mph top speed. Now, of course, the question is: will BMW Motorrad actually build the Titan? The press release makes no mention of whether there are any plans to put the futuristic superbike in production. And while we wouldn't hold our breath, it's not impossible either. The motorcycle's sister company, plain old BMW, has shown a willingness to put its more head-turning concepts, like the Skytop roadster and Speedtop shooting brake, into production. That is one trend we wouldn't mind seeing of Robb Report The 2024 Chevy C8 Corvette: Everything We Know About the Powerful Mid-Engine Beast The World's Best Superyacht Shipyards The ABCs of Chartering a Yacht Click here to read the full article.

This Student-Designed Hyundai Concept Is Edgy and Awesome

The automotive industry is constantly evolving. It needs ideas from young designers and engineers to deliver new and interesting products. Concepts can sometimes provide a peek at the cars we could be driving one day, and students can create some fascinating designs that truly feel like something out of the future—and one did just that with his edgy Hyundai concept. It's called the Obsidian, and it looks like something out of the retro-inspired sci-fi future promised in the 1980s. Its wedge-shaped face feels like a natural evolution of the Ioniq 5 a decade or two from now, integrating the brand's pixel lights across the flat front. Photo by: Car Design Event Photo by: Car Design Event The rest of the Obsidian looks like it's designed to maximize cabin space. It has a flat roof that ends in a hatchback, which should provide plenty of headroom for passengers. According to Korean Car Blog , transportation student Dominik Anders designed the vehicle with Hyundai's support. It looks as stunning as other recent Hyundai concepts, and it fits alongside other lookers like the Hyundai Grandeur and Pony Coupe concepts. Sadly, this is just a design concept highlighted as part of the Car Design Event 2025 in Munich , which showcased other concepts from Hyundai, like the Initium concept , and from other automakers. Hopefully Hyundai's designers take note. Because we love this thing. The Grande Panda 4x4 Looks Like a Fiat That Americans Would Love

Fiat just unveiled the Grande Panda 4x4 concept as a "direct heir" to the Panda 4x4 of the 1980s. The new concept rides on a set of steel wheels wrapped in knobby tires and rocks a fabulous maroon paint complete with fender cladding and a roof rack for extra storage. Fiat surely won't sell the new Grande Panda here in the United States—it hasn't even confirmed production—but we really think they should reconsider both positions. We're spoiled for choice when it comes to small crossovers in the United States. But that doesn't mean we don't pine for more. So, when Fiat unveiled the spectacular new Grande Panda 4x4 concept, our hearts fluttered at the thought of driving such a car in the U.S. Sure, it looks tougher and more capable than it probably is, but the adorable little Panda sports brawny styling with steel wheels and the obligatory fender cladding that advertises its 4x4 status. Fiat says the new Grande Panda concept is a "direct heir" to the original Panda 4x4 that launched in 1983. With an affordable price and a raised ride height, that model became an instant hit among off-roaders. Fiat The new concept is based on Fiat's current Grande Panda that comes in electric and hybrid formats. Fiat says the Grande Panda 4x4 concept is planned with an "electrified innovative rear axle"—whatever that means. As it's just a concept, Fiat remains mum on the finer details, so we're left to wonder about what powers the front axle as well. The brand hasn't actually confirmed production plans, but Fiat's European boss, Gaetano Thorel, indicated to Autocar that it could someday hit the road. "Surely we will have this car on the road in the future–but not tomorrow," Thorel told Autocar. Assuming Fiat does put the Grande Panda 4x4 into production, we think the Italian marque should consider bringing it to North America. The brand sold fewer than 1000 of its electric 500e in the U.S. last year, which suggests it isn't very desirable to Americans. But one thing Americans are obsessed with is a lifted crossover that looks like it could be taken off-road, and the new Grande Panda 4x4, albeit tiny, projects that image. Jack Fitzgerald Associate News Editor Jack Fitzgerald's love for cars stems from his as yet unshakable addiction to Formula 1. After a brief stint as a detailer for a local dealership group in college, he knew he needed a more permanent way to drive all the new cars he couldn't afford and decided to pursue a career in auto writing. By hounding his college professors at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, he was able to travel Wisconsin seeking out stories in the auto world before landing his dream job at Car and Driver. His new goal is to delay the inevitable demise of his 2010 Volkswagen Golf. Read full bio
