Shakira's Boston concert called off hours before show

Shakira 's concert at Boston's Fenway Park has been cancelled hours before she was scheduled to perform, along with Jason Aldean's concert the following day, due to 'unforeseen circumstances'. Local reports suggest structural issues with the staging were the reason for the cancellation after an inspection determined the staging was not structurally sound. According to WCVB, the staging "fell apart" during rehearsals on Thursday. Live Nation told Boston 25 that "structural elements were identified as not being up to standard" during a routine pre-show check, ensuring all team members are safe. This cancellation follows previous issues on Shakira's tour, including hospitalisation in Lima, Peru, and stage damage in Medellín, Colombia. Attendees at her MetLife Stadium show in New Jersey were also warned of potential measles exposure.

Huge US band revealed they've been forced to cancel their UK and European shows after a 'freak accident'

Kings of Leon have been forced to cancelled their UK and European shows after frontman Caleb Followill suffered a 'freak accident'. The beloved rock band had been due to perform across a string of countries this summer, including shows in Spain, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Croatia, Belgium and Portugal. But Caleb, 43, was unable to perform in the tour after he broke his foot while playing with his kids, leaving him requiring emergency surgery, forcing the band to cancel all of their planned performances in June and July. In a video posted to the band's Instagram account, Caleb said: 'Hello to everyone out there, especially our European fans that are coming to see us this summer. 'Unfortunately I regret to inform you that those shows will have to be cancelled due to a freak accident that happened the other day.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'I broke my foot pretty bad just playing with my kids… It's pretty gnarly and I'll spare all the details. 'But we're fortunate enough to have some great doctors here in Nashville that gave me emergency surgery.' Caleb, who shares two children with model Lily Aldridge, went onto reveal he's been told he has to stay off his feet for around two months. He continued: 'I'm on the mend, but they've told me that I can't be on my feet, travelling, or anything for the next eight weeks or so. That's a big bummer.' The singer looked visibly frustrated as he continued: 'We were so excited. We've been preparing for this tour for a long time, we've been preparing for a lot of things. 'We've been in the studio recording, we have a bunch of new songs, we were going to debut a few of them on this run. 'We had a lot of exciting things planned and now we're going to have to pivot and find a new way to continue the work that we've started.' But despite news of the cancellation, Kaleb ended his video on a more optimistic note, saying: 'I'm very excited for when we do get to show you the stuff we're doing, and in the meantime we're going to do whatever work we can while I have these limitations.' 'Exciting stuff is coming, I know this isn't the message anyone wants to hear, and it's certainly not the message I want to be sending, but it's going to be alright. Everything is going to be good. Hopefully, we will see y'all soon.' Kaleb's bandmates then released a separate statement where they echoed Kaleb's recovery time following the injury. They said: 'Kings of Leon are updating fans that Caleb Followill has recently sustained a serious injury, shattering his heel and requiring a significant emergency surgery, that will prevent him from travelling and performing. 'The anticipated recovery process is expected to take eight weeks, under strict guidance of expert orthopaedic specialists.' 'The band regrets to report that they will need to cancel all upcoming UK and European festival headline shows in June and July of this year.' The tour had been set to include a headline slot at Lytham Festival in Lancashire, where the band were billed alongside Justin Timberlake and Alanis Morissette. Festival organisers have since confirmed that the festival will be reduced from five days to four, as it's too late to book a replacement act. Last year Kings Of Leon revealed they were set to release new music after signing a deal with Capitol Records. The band - which formed in 1999 - is composed of brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill and their cousin Matthew Followill. To amp up the excitement for the forthcoming album, the foursome released a new single - and accompanying music video - titled Mustang. Kings Of Leon's entire discography beginning with 2003 debut EP Holy Roller Novocaine was released on RCA Records. They had released eight studio albums, one live album, two compilation albums, two video album, five extended plays, 26 singles, one promotional single and 26 music videos with the record label.

The 76-year-old singer is undergoing physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing while he recovers, according to a statement on social media. "I'm sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding," Joel said on Friday (local time). Joel's condition was exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision and balance, according to the statement. The condition, which is more likely in people over the age of 65, occurs when fluid builds up inside the skull and presses on the brain, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Its symptoms resemble those of dementia and can sometimes be reversible. The tour, which had stops in the United States, Canada and England, had been due to start in February but that was rescheduled to July due to an undisclosed medical condition. Joel, known for hits like Piano Man and Uptown Girl , ended his record-breaking monthly Madison Square Garden residency - which had begun in 2014 - last year. - Reuters

Grammy winner Billy Joel has cancelled all scheduled concerts after being diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus, a condition causing fluid buildup in the brain ventricles that has affected his hearing, vision, and balance. The Piano Man singer is currently undergoing specific physical therapy under doctor's orders and has been advised to refrain from performing during his recovery period. Joel's final performance before the diagnosis occurred on 22 February at the Mohegan Sun Arena, where he fell during the show but finished his set. Rolling Stone reports that Joel's final performance before the diagnosis took place on 22 February at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut, where fans witnessed the 76-year-old fall 'flat on his back after throwing his microphone stand to a crew member'. Despite the incident, Joel 'quickly stood up and finished the set'. According to the Mayo Clinic, NPH involved 'the buildup of fluid in cavities called ventricles deep within the brain', creating pressure that could affect motor function and cognitive abilities. The condition predominantly affects infants and adults over 60.' 'Under his doctor's instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period,' his statement said. 'He is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritising his health.'
