Mother Moose Attacks Colorado Man and His 2 Dogs While Protecting Calves
A Colorado couple lost their dog after the canine was trampled by a moose while outdoors The pet was euthanized due to the injuries it sustained Moose are the second largest land animal on the continent and can reach up to six feet at their shouldersA Colorado couple's dog had to be euthanized after it was stomped on by a mother moose who was protecting her two calves. The incident happened on the evening of Monday, May 26, on private property in Teller County near Woodland Park, KRDO, KOAA and Colorado Parks and Wildlife confirmed. A man, whose name has not publicly been released, was reportedly attempting to take his dogs inside when the attack happened. As the mother moose barreled toward him, he hid under a nearby vehicle. Unfortunately, his canine companions were trampled. One was euthanized due to the injuries it sustained, while the other is still recovering. Just one day before the encounter, a moose charged the man's wife, but she made it into their home before being injured. 'This incident is a reminder of why we warn everyone to respect wildlife and give them their space,' said Travis Sauder, CPW Assistant Area Wildlife Manager. 'We know Colorado residents love their dogs. But it's important to understand that moose see dogs as predators and react in defense of themselves and their young.' He continued, 'This cow moose was exhibiting classic protective behavior of its calves. Be sure to give wildlife extra space, especially when they are raising their young. And it is always best to keep dogs on leashes or in a fenced area to reduce the chances of an incident with wildlife.' CPW estimates around 3,600 moose to be currently living in Colorado, compared to 2,250 in 2013. Approximately two weeks before the moose attack that led to the death of the Teller County family's dog, resident Paul Whitfield had his own close encounter with one of the animals at Manitou Lake. 'I went, 'That's a really tall horse,'' he said in an on-camera interview with KRDO. 'And it occurred to me that that's a moose.' He was fishing when the young moose came into his territory. 'I thought, 'I don't have anywhere to go,'' Whitfield said, calling himself lucky that the close call was just with a calf as the mothers can be 'protective' and "aggressive." 'Moose - called elk outside of North America - are the second largest land animal on the continent and Colorado's largest big game animal," per CPW. The animals can grow up to 9 1⁄2 feet long, be six feet tall at the shoulder, and weigh more than 1,000 pounds. CPW spokesperson Joey Livingston shared some tips on how humans and wildlife can coexist. "Generally, this first week of June is when we start seeing the baby deer on the ground," he said. "And the deer will still defend their young, just like the moose this moose did. And so if you let your dogs outside, try to go outside first and make sure there's no deer, no fawns in the area." B.C. woman reunited with goats after unexpected encounter with bear
Adam finds out what happed after a group of miniature goats were scared by one big bear. METCHOSIN, B.C. — Hounaida Bellasfar was preparing to go for a walk with her dogs when they were startled by a bear in their yard. 'He was right there,' Hounaida points. 'I was screaming from the bottom of my heart, and he didn't want to move.' The bear looked at the dogs before standing up on its hind legs. 'I was really scared,' Hounaida says. 'He was taller than me.' But Hounaida and the dogs kept making noise for almost an hour, until the bear eventually retreated into the woods. 'My dogs followed him all the way up there,' Hounaida says, pointing the forested hill behind her home. The dogs eventually came back. But when Hounaida returned home, there was no sign of her goats. 'I took my car, and I drove and I called their name.' Hounaida says the 11 miniature goats, including moms and babies, were all wearing bells around their necks. 'I never heard them.' She searched for them everywhere, for hours, but they were gone. 'It was horrible,' Hounaida says. Because these weren't just any goats, they were family — especially Nara. 'She was rejected by her mom,' Hounaida says. 'So, I needed to raise her with a bottle.' Nara and Hounaida were inseparable. When they weren't watching TV together on the couch, or going for rides in the car, the goat would go for hikes with the dogs. 'So, she thinks I'm her mom,' Hounaida laughs. There was still no sign of the goats the next morning and Hounaida couldn't help but think about her work as a grief recovery specialist. 'Instead of panicking and anticipating the negative, just keep being positive,' Hounaida says. 'And trust that your prayer will be answered.' Almost 24 hours later, it was. A neighbour spotted the goats acres away and Hounaida rushed to retrieve them. 'Oh my god! It was amazing!' Hounaida smiles. 'I said, 'Babies!' They were stuck, but when they saw me, they came running!' While Hounaida is unsure if goats fled after being scared by the bear's arrival, or by all the noise being made before it's departure, there is no doubt she couldn't be more grateful that she never gave up hope and her furry family is reunited. 'They are my babies,' she smiles, before picking up a baby and kissing its head. 'They are not goats!'

Golden Retriever's Pure Excitement Over Seeing Friends at Day Care Is Everything
Considering just how important socializing our pets is, it's no surprise that some dogs really thrive in doggy day care. If their humans can't be around, they're all about getting in some playtime with other pups and hanging out with their friends. On Thursday, May 22, @cookiethegoldenretriver1 on TikTok shared this footage of the excitement her Golden Retriever has when it's time to see her friends at school. Nobody better get in her way, or they're getting knocked over! Here, we see Cookie right at the door, absolutely losing her mind with how excited she is to get in there and play. It's kind of mind blowing just how fast her little paws are going, trying to get that door. She might be setting a new record or something. Safe to say that day care must be one of her very favorite places. If Mom ever worries about her when she's not around, this must be a pretty reassuring sight to see! While watching the other videos that Cookie's mom has shared on TikTok, it seems like this Golden Retriever doesn't just love her friends hard — she loves her people just as much. For example, she might be a dog, but this is a straight up bear hug that Cookie is giving her kid! There's truly nothing better than snuggling with your pup, especially if your dog loves hugs like Cookie does, so I know her kiddo must have been on cloud nine! And in another TikTok video, Cookie is waiting so patiently by the window for her dad to come home and watching that driveway like a hawk. I can only imagine the happiness that ensues when they are reunited at the end of the day. Cookie has such a big heart and so much excitement to give. Never change, Cookie! 🐶🐾🐾 Golden Retriever's Pure Excitement Over Seeing Friends at Day Care Is Everything first appeared on Parade Pets on May 25, 2025

Golden Retriever's Attempt to Hide After Destroying Mom's Sandal Is Priceless
Our fur babies can get themselves into trouble. Whether it's sneaking some snacks, getting into the garbage, or teething on non-toy items, our precious pups find a way to misbehave. Disciplining our dogs after an offense is a challenge due to their irresistable cuteness, but sometimes we can't help but show our displeasure. Winston the Golden Retriever got a little mouthy with his mom's footwear, and she was not happy when she found the evidence of his wrongdoing. In the TikTok from @wackowinston, Winston's mother entered the scene of the crime and instantly knew what took place in her absence. "Getting home after a long shift at work... just to see my dog ate my sandal," the onscreen text read as Winston's mom discovered her chewed up shoe on the couch with bits of leather strewn around. "Did you do that? Why?" she questioned Winston. The guilty Golden tried to wedge himself between the couch and the window, hoping not to be seen. The canine cutie clearly knew he was in trouble, yet his sweet expression would make anyone's frustration fade away. Followers sided with Winston and gave reasons and excuses for what may have happened."He probably told you 3 times to put those away," one remarked. "Innocent until proven guilty. US law will protect him," a fan claimed. "Your next door neighbor here, I saw a random dog go in your house, so Winnie hid behind the couch cause he was scared, innocent of all charges!" another advocated. "He couldn't of done that, clearly he's been stuck behind the couch so it's impossible," a follower posted. Hopefully, Winston's mom granted leniency to her canine cutie and may want to put her shoes out of sight from now on. 🐶🐾
