‘Goading' yob who got cop sacked after he was rammed off e-bike is locked up after ANOTHER police chase
A "GOADING" yob who got a cop sacked when he was rammed off his e-bike has been jailed after another police chase. Mason McGarry was riding with pal Dominic Mizzi when they were clipped by ex-PC Tim Bradshaw in his police car. 5 Footage showed the teens being catapulted across the wet road in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, before McGarry attempted to flee. Veteran officer Bradshaw was cleared of causing serious injury by dangerous driving but was forced to leave his job after 22 years. At the time, the court heard serial offender McGarry had 42 previous convictions - including for robbery, theft and dangerous driving. The 19-year-old is now finally behind bars after he mounted the pavement in a friend's car at 60mph and hit a lorry while being chased by cops - just a month after the e-bike crash. Portsmouth Crown Court heard McGarry was driving his sister and two others in the borrowed Vauxhall when his friend called police to say the car had not been returned. Officers began a pursuit through Chichester as the teen drove at 60mph in a 40mph zone in a bid to shake them off. But McGarry tried to "squeeze" in past the lorry and instead mounted the pavement and hit the vehicle - causing £1,200 worth of damage. The thug pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking, driving whilst disqualified, failing to stop and driving without insurance. The court heard his list of previous convictions was "unenviable" and includes offences of drug possession, trafficking and two dangerous driving convictions. McGarry was sent to a young offender's institution for 12 months. Sentencing, Judge Jodie Mittell said: "The concern I obviously have is that the fifth time he will kill someone. "That could be his sister." At PC Bradshaw's trial in February, the court heard the crash took place while the officer was driving a marked Ford Focus. He said he tried to follow the e-bike after it rode past his car on the pavement in an attempt to "goad" him. Bradshaw said the same bike later pulled in front of him which is when he chose to make "tactical contact" at around 30mph. But he claimed only he "nudged" the electric bike with the bumper of his vehicle and that it was Mizzi's "own stupid fault". Bradshaw, who is now retired, added: "It was light contact, it was light enough, there was not a blemish on my police car. "I believed it was a justified, necessary action." During a voluntary interview with police, he also branded McGarry a "feral" teenager and someone who "just doesn't get it, just doesn't stop". A jury took just over an hour to reach their verdict and clear Bradshaw of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He was also found not guilty of a charge of causing serious injury by driving without due care and attention. The retired cop later claimed his colleagues are now fearful of taking direct action in dangerous situations because of the potential consequences. 5 5 5

Driver who killed e-bike rider by ramming him into concrete post jailed for life
A car driver who hunted down and deliberately rammed an e-bike rider, leaving him to die at the roadside, has been jailed for life for murder. Abdirahman Ibrahim, 21, 'weaponised' his Seat Leon after seeing friends Liam Jones and Tayzhon Johnson 'showboating' on electric off-road bikes in the Yardley area on August 1 2023, Birmingham Crown Court was told. Ibrahim remained emotionless in the dock as he was handed a life sentence with a minimum term of 22 years on Monday. Judge Andrew Smith KC said Mr Jones, who was described in court as the fun and bubbly 'spark' of his family, had done nothing to prompt Ibrahim to chase him. The 22-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene after being knocked off his e-bike into a concrete post in Moat Lane, having been rammed twice by the Seat. The judge told Ibrahim, of Bonham Grove, Yardley: 'After careful reflection I have concluded that you did drive the car into and on Moat Lane such that you had the car available as a weapon. You pursued (Mr Jones and his friend) in a determined and deliberate way. 'You became aware of Liam Jones and Tayzhon Johnson as you entered the Coventry Road and you changed your direction to follow them. 'Once behind the electric bikes being driven by Mr Jones and Mr Johnson it must have been clear to you that neither of them was wearing a helmet. 'There is no evidence that Mr Jones or Mr Johnson ever participated in racing with your car or did anything to encourage you to interact with them.' The judge said the two men had realised they were being followed and went down a one-way street in a bid to get away from the car, but Ibrahim drove at speed along another nearby road to catch them. The judge added: 'Your actions in the immediate aftermath of this deliberate collision were governed by a selfish desire to escape from the scene and involved no care for Mr Jones.' Ibrahim's brother, Abdullahi Ibrahim, also of Bonham Grove, pleaded guilty to assisting an offender and was jailed for two years and 10 months. The court heard the 22-year-old, who was a rear seat passenger in the Seat, was involved in efforts to hide the vehicle in the hours after the murder.

Test-Riding The Tenways CGO600 Pro-C E-Bike
Thanks to clever battery packaging, the Tenways CGO600 Pro-C doesn't even look like an electric bike Tenways Few places in the world have accepted cyclists quite as enthusiastically as the Netherlands. It makes sense then, that Tenways hails from the European country. Following a successful crowdfunding campaign, the first Tenways e-bike hit the pavement in 2021. Since then, the company has expanded its customer base across the world and launched seven models, including its latest Tenways CGO600 Pro-C e-bike. Born of a desire to make commuter bikes, most of Tenways' products are city e-bikes with a few hybrid models in the mix for riders that want to tackle some more challenging terrain. The designs are up there with some of the sleekest e-bikes like the Raleigh Bikes Trace that barely looks like it has any electric kit. The Tenways CGO600 Pro-C features a chain driven setup Tenways There's eight manual gears and three levels of electric assistance, so the CGO600 can be as much like a regular bicycle as you like. It's easy to change the level of assistance on the go and the first level will likely be enough to help most riders glide along easily. The motor is located at the rear wheel and it's impressively quiet. It can assist you up to 20 mph after which point you have to put in the extra effort to go any faster. Power delivery feels smooth and it's nice to have that added bit of support over long inclines. Medium is the smallest frame size Tenways offers for this particular model. It's designed for riders over 5 foot 7, so the bike is a touch too big for my 5 foot 5 frame. Taller riders have no problem though, with frames suitable for those up to and over 6 foot 5. The CGO600's battery doesn't add too much weight which helps the bike to feel agile and easy to move around. Unlike other bikes that can provide some throttle without you needing to move the pedals, the CGO600 doesn't have this feature but its target audience is likely to be reasonably fit adults looking to make the morning commute a bit quicker. Like most e-bikes, this model features a detachable battery Tenways On the handlebars, there's a small screen which starts up by holding the on button on the top. Once you enter your pin number – a clever security feature – crisp graphics display battery status, speed, trip details and which level of assistance you're using. Beneath the screen, there's up and down arrows to control the three levels of assistance. The vertical display screen prioritizes showing the speed and each assistance level is shown in a different color for easy reading on the move. Tenways has also developed its own app to go with its electric bikes. After signing up to the free app, you can register your bike and track journeys. Riding data summarizes things like average daily mileage, average time, calories burned and how much CO2 you're saving by riding instead of driving. There's also a support center on the app which links through to useful information like FAQs, an automated assistant and details about local service centers. The bike comes with a pair of keys which unlock the battery, so you can take it inside for charging. Again, this is a nice safety feature to deter thieves from stealing the battery. Once you take off the plastic cover over the keyhole, it's easy to remove for convenient charging. The bike also comes with integrated front and rear lights. How Much Does The Tenways CGO600 Pro-C E-Bike Cost? Depending on preference, the bike can be had with chain or belt drive Tenways The Tenways CGO600 Pro is competitively priced in this segment at $1,899 for both chain and belt-driven configurations. The e-bike is available with three different frame sizes: medium, large or extra large to suit riders of different heights. Medium is best suited to riders between 5 foot 7 and 5 foot 11. The large frame is designed for riders between 5 foot 11 and 6 foot 5. Extra large caters to taller riders over 6 foot 5. Tenways' hybrid models which compete with the likes of the Raleigh Motus Grand Tour , Volt Regent and the Estarli E28.X are typically more expensive than the company's range of city bikes. For a similar price, the Tenways CGO800 combines the city features of the CGO600 Pro with a low step frame. Technical Specification Price as tested: $1,899 Drivetrain: Chain with Tenways C9 350W Rear Hub Motor Battery: Removable 360Wh Lithium-ion Battery with LG Cells Charge time: 4.5 hours Range: Up to 53 miles / 85km Weight: 18kg / 40 lbs with battery
