Celtic look set to welcome back a whole host of loan stars this summer, including one league champion MAKE HIS MARC Forgotten Celtic star set for return to Hoops this summer after playing key role in league title on loan spell CELTIC loanee Marco Tilio will return to Glasgow as an A-League Grand Final winner. He has spent 18-months back down-under, but will return to Brendan Rodgers' side this summer an A-League Grand Final winner. Tilio's Melbourne City faced off against fierce rivals, Melbourne Victory, as well as ex-Celtic man Daniel Arzani. City walked away 1-0 winner thanks to an early goal from Yonatan Cohen. Tilio told Paramount+ Australia after the match: "This one just feels so much sweeter." The winger will be a busy man between now and his return to Scotland as he is on international duty with Australia. "World cup qualifiers coming up so I'll make sure I'm on my flight tomorrow feeling good because that's more important than celebrating, I'll celebrate with the boys and my family that are here and get ready for them." Tilio has spoken about his Celtic future in the past whilst keeping his cards close to his chest. He told Optus Sport: "I'd hope to be saying I'll be playing consistently over in Europe. "I'd like to say. We'll see but, yeah, that's where my head's at." Cheeky Celtic supporters hoist Irish flag at site of Scotland's new superjail The Australia international has notched five goals and five assists in 19 matches this season. Once Tilio returns to Celtic, he will still have three years remaining on his Hoops contract. With Jota out long-term, and Nicolas Kuhn attracting transfer interest, there could be a way back for Tilio in Glasgow. Brendan Rodgers already looks to be in the market for a winger though. Tyrhys Dolan from Blackburn is out of contract this summer, and both the Hoops and Rangers are said to be chasing his signature. Chris Hamilton has say on Neil Lennon staying as Dunfermline Athletic midfielder also pens new deal
Chris Hamilton has revealed he is 'excited' for the future at Dunfermline under Neil Lennon and has promised the Pars will 'have a good go next season'. Hamilton has become the first signing of the new Lennon era at East End Park after penning a one-year contract extension. The former Hearts youngster's previous deal was expiring, but he has been given a vote of confidence by his boyhood club with a fresh agreement. The 23-year-old follows swiftly on from Lennon himself after the Northern Irishman penned a two-year deal to stay as manager. And Hamilton, who played in all but the last of Lennon's seven matches in charge last term, is relishing the opportunity to play again under the ex-Celtic and Hibernian boss. 'It was really good working under the manager,' said vice-captain Hamilton. 'I think you could see the difference in the team from when he came in. 'We were really organised. We were a threat in most games, even though we never scored a lot of goals, and we dominated most games. 'I think his experience helped the group, our young group, a lot. 'Hopefully, moving forward, that can be the same this season. I'm really looking forward to working under him again. He added: 'Hopefully it's an exciting season for the football club. 'As a player, I'm really looking forward to it. As a fan, I'm really looking forward to it. 'I'm excited for the club. It looks positive, it looks on the way up. 'So, hopefully, as players and as a group, we can come back to pre-season, work hard and be ready to have a good go next season, and see where it takes us.' Hamilton joined Dunfermline in 2022 following relegation and helped the club win the League One title in his first campaign. However, after consolidating in the Championship in his second season, 2024/25 proved to be a trying year under three different managers and with the battle to avoid another relegation. The former Arbroath loanee is thrilled he now has the chance to 'right some wrongs' after agreeing his new deal. 'I'm delighted,' he said. 'Obviously I knew for a while towards the end of the season that I was going to be out of contract. And I had a few positive conversations. 'So, I'm glad it's all sorted now and signed and I can get my mind focused on coming in for pre-season and looking forward to that. 'Las season was tough. There were some highs – and a lot of lows. 'But I'm glad that we managed to stay in the league. It was important, really important that we managed to do that. 'And it gives us a chance this year to right some wrongs and really have a go and see where we can get to.'

One deal every Premier League team can complete in window opening in two days
The first transfer window of 2025 opens next week with clubs given a limited amount of time to complete any deals they want before the Club World Cup and Premier League clubs could be busy The dust is only just beginning to settle on the 2024/25 campaign - but we're already firmly into transfer season. A number of Premier League clubs are getting their business done early. Bids have already been lodged, while some contracts have already been signed. And that is only sure to ramp up over the coming days as the window opens. Due to this summer's Club World Cup, there will be two separate windows. The first opens on June 1 and runs until June 10. The second window will then kick into action on Monday June 16 and will run all the way until early September. But what deals might we see over the coming days? Mirror Football takes a look... Arsenal - Martin Zubimendi (Real Sociedad) Admirers of the Spanish midfielder for some time, Arsenal have bitten the bullet and decided to pay his £51m release clause. Reports in Spain suggest that he is preparing to complete an Arsenal medical soon so a deal might be done very shortly. Aston Villa - Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) The Man United academy graduate had managed to recover his form before an injury cruelly cut short his time with Aston Villa. The Midlands side have a £40m option to buy him permanently which they could activate but whether they do that without a guaranteed Champions League payday remains to be seen. Bournemouth - Kyogo Furuhashi (Rennes) The Cherries have already conducted some business this summer with defender Dean Huijsen on his way to Real Madrid. Reports have suggested that ex-Celtic man Kyogo Furuhashi could be targeted and given the rotten time of things he has had in France, it could be a relatively straightforward move. Brentford - Caoimhin Kelleher (Liverpool) Kelleher has regularly expressed his desire to leave Liverpool for more regular first team football. Brentford could offer him just that. The Bees have been in touch with their Premier League rivals over recent days regarding a deal. Brighton - Diego Coppola (Hellas Verona) A talented young defender, the Italian has made a name for himself with Hellas Verona in Serie A. As it stands, the Seagulls are the favourites but could face competition from Juventus and Aston Villa. Burnley - Daniel Peretz (Bayern Munich) This very much depends on what happens with James Trafford. But reports in Germany have claimed that the Clarets are keen on sealing Peretz on a loan deal. Bayern would reportedly be willing to loan him out so a deal could be relatively easy. Chelsea - Liam Delap (Ipswich) A relatively straightforward one, Chelsea have already activated the £30m release clause written into Delap's Ipswich contract. All that remains now is to get him to officially sign a deal and that move can be completed. Crystal Palace - Reinildo Mandava (Atletico Madrid) After winning the FA Cup, Palace are understandably keen to bolster their squad. Atletico Madrid left-back Reinildo has reportedly been identified as a replacement for Ben Chilwell, who will return to Chelsea at the end of his loan spell. Everton - Charly Alcaraz (Flamengo) Much like Rashford, Charly Alcaraz could see his loan move to Everton turned into a permanent one very shortly. The former Southampton man is now in talks over personal terms and is fully expected to become a full-time Toffee. Fulham - Ardon Jashari (Club Brugge) This one might actually be a bit more difficult than some of the other names on the list. The Club Brugge midfielder has shone over in Belgium, garnering interest from the Premier League. Fulham could steal a march with an early move. Leeds United - Manor Solomon (Tottenham) One of the heroes of Leeds' promotion, there have been calls for the club to push through a permanent deal. And it appears that it could actually happen, with Spurs open to selling. Leeds might face competition from Everton so they might need to get their skates on. Liverpool - Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen) One of two Bayer Leverkusen stars who could become Liverpool players this summer, right-back Frimpong looks set to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold at Anfield. He has already flown to the UK to undergo a medical after his release clause was activated. Manchester City - Tijjani Reijnders (AC Milan) The champions certainly need some signings to reclaim their crown. And it appears to be in midfield where Pep Guardiola is keen to add some new faces. AC Milan have already rejected City's opening offer for Reijnders but don't be surprised if they try again. Manchester United - Matheus Cunha (Wolves) Another release clause, another imminent move. Matheus Cunha appears set to become a Red Devil after his £62m release clause was activated. The Brazilian is also set for a medical over the coming days. Newcastle - Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace) Newcastle are long-term admirers of Guehi and have seen a number of bids rebuffed in the past. But with some financial muscle behind them courtesy of their Champions League qualification, this summer might finally be the window where they get him. Nottingham Forest - Igor Jesus (Botafogo) Speaking of European football, Nottingham Forest could do with some depth ahead of their return to continental competition - particularly up front. Botafogo striker Igor Jesus has reportedly emerged as a target with the two clubs seemingly not far away from a deal. Sunderland - Jordan Henderson (Ajax) There's been rumours of an emotional return this summer and it could finally be the perfect time for it to happen. Henderson has really struggled to settle since leaving Liverpool and his boyhood club might be the perfect place to do that. Tottenham - Mathys Tel (Bayern Munich) Having scored just three times for Spurs since his arrival on loan from Bayern Munich, there is a debate to be had over whether they should activate their option to sign Tel permanently. A deal would be costly at the £50m mark but it would be a relatively easy one to rubber-stamp. West Ham - Daniel Cummings (Celtic) West Ham certainly need some additions after their disappointing campaign. Young Celtic star Daniel Cummings will join West Ham this summer at the end of his contract and the move could be announced imminently. Wolves - Kieran Morrison (Liverpool) With Cunha on the move, Wolves need to add bodies in attack. But it appears that their concentration is elsewhere for now. Reports have suggested that the Black Country side have made an approach for young Liverpool midfielder Kieran Morrison.

That form has been enough to convince the board to give the role to Wilson permanently as Graham turned down the chance. Wilson said: 'I am really pleased to be the head coach at Partick Thistle and I cannot wait to get started. "It is going to be a busy summer but one I am looking forward to." The Jags board and sporting director also interviewed Morton boss Dougie Imrie, former Dunfermline manager James McPake and ex-Celtic defender Paul Caddis. Chairman Richard Beastall said: "We held both preliminary conversations and formal interviews with a number of candidates and we believe Mark is the best fit for Partick Thistle. "His knowledge and commitment to promoting our own talent shone through, as did the leadership he showed on the training pitch, in the dressing room and during matches as we enjoyed a memorable end to the season. "It was always clear to us throughout the process that that Mark was an integral part of our future aspirations.' More to follow....

Ex-Celtic ace identifies what Scottish champs and Shamrock Rovers have in common
Adam Matthews and Stephen McPhail played in the same Cardiff City team 17 times during the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons, blissfully unaware they would be reunited at Shamrock Rovers over a decade later. In the meantime, Matthews went on to play for Celtic, winning four SPL titles in-a-row and a Scottish Cup while also enjoying big Champions League nights against the likes of Barcelona, with Messi, Neymar, Xavi, Iniesta and Sergio Busquets in their ranks. Matthews later made his Premier League debut with Sunderland, had a spell with Charlton before moving to Cyprus in the summer of 2022 to join Omonia, who were managed at the time by his former Celtic boss Neil Lennon. While his Rovers team-mate Jack Byrne had a frustrating injury-hit spell in Cyprus with rivals APOEL, Matthews played regularly and made over 70 appearances in all competitions, including Europe. But when he left Omonia last summer, the harsh reality of professional football hit home as the phone wasn't ringing with offers - or at least not the right ones. Wales international Matthews ended up training with Carmarthen Town, just to stay fit. If you're curious, you can read our Privacy Notice. 'Obviously it does happen in football,' said the 33-year-old defender yesterday, ahead of tonight's clash with Galway United at Tallaght Stadium. 'It's happened to me before, not for that amount of time, but the older you get, the more you expect it to happen. It was tough, but I just needed to keep myself fit and wait for the opportunity, and thankfully Stephen (McPhail) gave me a ring and this was the opportunity. 'I was training with a team in Wales, a semi-professional team, so I'm thankful to them for giving me the opportunity to keep fit. I did my own stuff as well, but it's not the same as training with a professional team, but you've got to do the best you can and, in the circumstances, I came in pretty fit.' Shamrock Rovers boss Stephen Bradley revealed that he moved for Matthews after getting the lowdown directly from ex-Celtic boss Lennon. Bradley said yesterday: 'I just had a good conversation with Neil Lennon as he had him at Celtic and in Cyprus, and he couldn't speak highly enough of him. We did our homework with Stephen McPhail, but when you hear that from someone like Neil it was a no brainer. And when I spoke to Adam's previous managers, all of them said that he's so versatile and can play anywhere quite comfortably.' Matthews made his Rovers debut in the league defeat to Bohemians in front of 33,000 at Aviva Stadium on the opening weekend of the season, but it was bittersweet as he picked up a nasty injury as well as losing the game. He was caught by Rovers goalkeeper Ed McGinty's studs, and ripped open his knee, knocking him back for a number of weeks and making it a stop-start introduction to life in Irish football. But Matthews, whose fiancé has moved over to Ireland with him and commutes to London for work twice a month, is settling into the side in recent weeks with Rovers pressing home their early advantage to pull six points clear at the top. Matthews said yesterday: 'I was out of football for quite a long time, so I was just looking forward to getting back in and this seemed like a good opportunity. It's a very competitive league and the training is really good. We've a good manager who is good tactically, so it's very similar to a lot of the clubs that I've had.' But Matthews has already been struck by one thing at Shamrock Rovers that reminds him of his time at Celtic - an expectation to win every game. At Celtic, a draw or defeat is treated like a catastrophe. And while Rovers were dethroned as champions last year, the Welshman senses a similar vibe with the Hoops. 'It's very similar, 100%,' he said. 'Celtic's a massive, massive team, but you get the same feeling with the fans. You are expected to win every game. Obviously, you can't. Even Celtic don't do that, but it's very similar. We go into every game thinking we can win, and Celtic were the same.' Tonight, Rovers will be looking to at least maintain their six-point lead at the top, if not enhance it after coming from behind to win in Derry last week. And Hoops boss Bradley knows that keeping the Premier Division's top scorer Moses Dyer - nine goals - will be paramount. Bradley said of the New Zealand international: 'He's been excellent. He has scored some good goals but his all-round game has been good. He's scored all types of goals as well, left foot, right foot, ahead, in behind, around the front. 'John Caulfield and Ollie Horgan pick up players that turn out to be really, really good players - and he's another one.' Bradley is hoping that he has unearthed a quality striker, too, in John McGovern, who completed his move to Rovers from Dungannon Swifts this week for an undisclosed fee. The 22-year-old won't be eligible to play until July 1 but Bradley said: 'He has real pace, real power, is both footed, can score all types of goals, can play all different positions. He's one we've watched for a long time in some detail and he's one that we really like. His age profile is brilliant and we think he's going to be really important for us.'
