LSU football hosts ex-Florida commit on a visit this weekend

LSU football hosts ex-Florida commit on a visit this weekend LSU football is set to host one of the nation's top safeties on an official visit this weekend. According to On3's Steve Wiltfong, four-star Devin Jackson lined up a visit to LSU on May 31. The visit will be the first of five official trips, followed by Miami, Oregon, Penn State, and Nebraska. Jackson, a member of the 2026 class, is a Florida native and ranks as the No. 215 overall recruit and No. 23 safety in the class, per the On3 Industry Rankings. Jackson was once committed to Florida, but the Gators could be out of the race after being absent on Jackson's official visit list. LSU secondary coach Corey Raymond was at Florida in 2023 and was a member of the Gators' staff when UF initially offered Jackson. That relationship could pay off for LSU as Jackson's recruitment heats up. Raymond is considered one of the top recruiters in college football and has a history of landing elite secondary talent from Florida. LSU football's 2026 class ranks No. 2 in the country, headlined by five-stars Tristen Keys and Richard Anderson. Jackson would be the third blue-chip safety to join LSU's class. That's big after LSU missed on Louisiana native Blaine Bradford, who committed to Ohio State earlier this year.

Anthony Weiner says ‘women are crazy about me' as he jokes about sexting scandal while pursuing political comeback

This guy just can't stop talking about sex. Disgraced ex Congressman Anthony Weiner joked that 'women are crazy about me' and riffed about his sexting scandal during a spirited interview — as he seeks a political comeback by running for New York City Council seat. 'For sure, my god. They're crazy about me. Women are crazy about me,' said the registered sex offender, when podcast host Adam Friedland asked if women find powerful men such as politicians attractive. Weiner is the 60-year-old perv whose sexting scandal prompted an embarrassing exit from public office more than a decade ago — before he was later sent to prison for sexting a 15-year-old girl. 5 Ex-Rep. Friedland, in the season premiere of 'The Adam Friedland Show' on Youtube, told Weiner his tabloid scandal wouldn't even crack the 'top 100' of salacious stories in the current high-tech social media environment Weiner said it was a 'slow news' cycle then and quipped that his last name didn't help matters. 'I'm a guy named Weiner who tweeted out a picture of his dick,' he said during the segment released Thursday. Friedland argued that former ex-Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz, who was accused of paying to have sex with a minor, is a worse offense. . 'If his name was Matt Kidf—er,' Weiner replied. 5 Weiner's comments came during an appearance on 'The Adam Friedland Show' on Youtube. The randy ex-congressman said he sometimes gets mistaken for another former scandal-scarred New York pol. A 'dude at Wing Stops' eatery told his son, Jordan, that his dad should 'run for governor again.' 'They thought I was Eliot Spitzer,' deadpanned Weiner, referring to the ex-governor who resigned in a hooker scandal. Asked how he stayed safe in prison, Weiner said, 'I lived with the storeman' — the guy who ran the commissary. Advertisement Weiner even cracked a few Rodney Dangerfield jokes during the segment. He also dished on other members of the New York House delegation, saying Manhattan Rep. Jerrold Nadler 'still grimaces at me when he sees me.' On a more serious note, Weiner said it hurt to be put on the sex offender registry list after serving his 21-month sentence. But he pleaded guilty to sexting with a minor. 5 Weiner in 2013 with his then-wife Huma Abedin. REUTERS Advertisement Weiner's downfall began in 2011, when he resigned from Congress after admitting he'd sent salacious selfies to at least six women. But he couldn't keep his pants on. Weiner then then saw his comeback campaign for mayor in 2013 go down in flames when it was revealed he resumed the pervy activity using the pseudonym 'Carlos Danger.' Even then, Weiner couldn't keep his privates to himself. Advertisement He developed a months-long online relationship with a 15-year-old girl, whom he asked to dress up in school uniforms and be part of 'rape fantasies', prosecutors charged. He pleaded guilty to sexting with a minor. Worse still, the FBI criminal probe into Weiner became a major issue in the final leg of the 2016 presidential campaign after investigators found thousands of Hillary Clinton's private email exchanges with her top adviser Human Abedin, also Weiner's wife, on Weiner's laptop. 5 Weiner is running in the Democratic primary for Manhattan's East Side District 2 seat. Nothing came of it, but Clinton said the revelation impacted the election contributed to her loss to Donald Trump. He ruined his career, humiliated his wife and destroyed his marriage and upended the 2016 race for the White House.

Steve Bannon Floats Worst Person Ever as Trump's Successor

So long as the Constitution remains as written, conservatives will have to find a new presidential frontrunner to replace Donald Trump on the 2028 ballot. But options, so far, seem scant. An obvious choice would be Vice President JD Vance, who has emerged as a 'clear favorite' in the race, per The New York Post. Most vice presidents in recent decades have attempted a run for the presidency (19 out of 49 prior veeps have shot their shot), with a third of them actually making it to the White House. But Steve Bannon, one of the far-right's most resilient political operatives, has another possibility in mind: ex-Florida Representative Matt Gaetz. 'I don't say this lightly. I'm a pretty good judge of horseflesh in this area,' Bannon, a former Trump adviser, told Gaetz on his podcast War Room. 'If you keep doing what you're doing, if you have interest, you're a future president of the United States.' 'Only if you're a future chief of staff,' Gaetz replied to Bannon. The remarkably unpopular Florida politico lost his House seat in an unlikely gamble after Trump nominated him to serve as attorney general in November. The conveniently timed appointment—and Gaetz's subsequent resignation—had the added benefit of killing the House investigation into Gaetz's alleged misconduct with women and minors that include accusations of sex trafficking. He has denied any wrongdoing. Unfortunately for Gaetz, the unsuccessful bid for Trump's Cabinet also left him without a job, as he was forced to drop his own nomination when it became clear that Republicans weren't going to vote for him. Gaetz reportedly pulled his nomination just minutes after CNN reached out to the ex-lawmaker for comment on a bombshell revelation that the Ethics Committee had been notified of a second sexual encounter between Gaetz and a 17-year-old he was accused of having sex with. In a statement following Gaetz's withdrawal, Trump said he had 'much respect' for the Florida politician and predicted Gaetz would have a 'wonderful future.'

Israeli PM Netanyahu's office denies ‘intensive contact' with ousted national security adviser Mike Waltz on Iran nuke talks

WASHINGTON — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office denied a published report that ousted national security adviser Mike Waltz had 'intensive contact' with him amid talks to either obliterate Iran's nuclear sites or force the mullahs to the negotiating table — apparently infuriating President Trump. 'Contrary to the Washington Post report, PM Netanyahu did not have intensive contact with Mike Waltz on Iran,' the office said in a statement Saturday hours after the outlet cited unnamed sources claiming the ex-Florida pol was keen on the US pursuing military action against Tehran's nuke sites. 'PM Netanyahu had a warm meeting with Mike Waltz and Steve Witkoff at Blair House in February prior to the Prime Minister's meeting with President Trump at the White House,' Netanyahu's team added. 6 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office is pushing back on a report that ousted national security adviser Mike Waltz had 'intensive contact' with him about obliterating Iran's nuclear program — apparently infuriating President Trump. via REUTERS Advertisement 'Mike Waltz also joined VP JD Vance in a meeting with the PM before leaving Washington. Since then, the PM, the former National Security Advisor and Steve Witkoff had one phone conversion that did not deal with Iran.' The statement cuts against comments from a senior White House official, Trump adviser and other unidentified sources who claimed to WaPo the former Green Beret wasn't just ousted for having added a journalist to a private, Cabinet-level Signal chat discussing strikes on Houthi terrorists but also because of his hawkish stance on Iran. One of the sources said Waltz 'wanted to take US policy in a direction Trump wasn't comfortable with because the US hadn't attempted a diplomatic solution.' On Tuesday, the then-national security adviser told The Post that the president had been clear about pursuing 'all options,' military or otherwise, to halt Tehran's regime from getting a nuclear bomb. Reps for the White House, Waltz and Witkoff did not respond to requests for comment.

Mike Waltz To Quit As Trump's National Security Advisor, Weeks After Signal Chat Leak: Report

Last Updated: Mike Waltz was out as the National Security Advisor in the Donald Trump administration on Thursday, reports said. Mike Waltz is all set to quit as US President Donald Trump's National Security Advisor, media reports said on Thursday. He and his deputy Alex Wong were purged, the reason for which has yet not be disclosed. Waltz, an ex-Florida congressman, has faced criticism from Democrats and others since March after the Signal chat leak case blew up. The Atlantic editor-in-chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, had revealed that he was added to a Signal group chat with top national security officials, including Waltz, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe, as they discussed war plans related to strikes on rebels in Yemen on March 15. Last month, Waltz took responsibility for the inclusion of the journalist in the group. 'I take full responsibility. I built the group. It's embarrassing. We're going to get to the bottom of it," he told Fox News earlier. Waltz had attended Trump's meeting along with other Cabinet members on Wednesday after the US President completed his 100th day in office in his second term. Alex Wong, who served as Waltz's principal deputy national security advisor, was mentioned in the Signal chat leak earlier this year. According to The Atlantic, he was identified in Waltz's initial March message as the staffer responsible for 'pulling together a tiger team." 'Team – establishing a principles [sic] group for coordination on Houthis, particularly for over the next 72 hours," Waltz wrote in the group chat." My deputy Alex Wong is pulling together a tiger team at deputies/agency Chief of Staff level following up from the meeting in the Sit Room this morning for action items and will be sending that out later this evening." The Atlantic's report on the Signal chat leak, which described the administration as discussing 'war plans" for a strike on Houthi rebels in Yemen over text. However, the Trump administration had maintained that no classified information was shared in the Signal chat, as the President repeatedly defended Waltz amid the controversy. In March, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the White House considered the Signal chat leak case 'closed," and continued to support Waltz. 'As the president has made it very clear, Mike Waltz continues to be an important part of his national security team. And this case has been closed here at the White House, as far as we are concerned," she had said on March 31. First Published: May 01, 2025, 20:42 IST
