Joy Taylor's sudden departure from Fox Sports after nearly a decade shocked many fans and industry insiders. But what followed made headlines for all the wrong reasons. Former NFL star Antonio Brown took a cheap shot at the ex-Speak host online—drawing widespread criticism and reigniting debate over his erratic social media behavior.

Fox Sports firing
According to The Athletic, Fox Sports decided not to renew Joy Taylor's contract, bringing an abrupt end to her long-standing presence at the network. Taylor had become one of the most prominent female voices in sports broadcasting, known for her sharp commentary and appearances on The Herd, Undisputed, and Speak. Her departure, however, came just months after she was named in a sexual assault and discrimination lawsuit filed by former Fox employee Noushin Faraji.
Taylor has denied all allegations, and no official findings have been made public.
Just two days after the firing, Antonio Brown posted a photoshopped image of Taylor's face edited onto a female police officer's body—an apparent reference to Maegan Hall, a Tennessee cop who gained notoriety in 2023 for allegedly engaging in inappropriate relationships with colleagues. While Brown didn't add a caption, the implication was clear, and the post quickly went viral for all the wrong reasons.

Social media users, journalists, and fans condemned Brown's post as offensive, sexist, and completely uncalled for. Many pointed out that Joy Taylor has maintained a professional career in an often male-dominated industry and deserved better than to be publicly mocked in such a way. The backlash was swift, with many calling out Brown's repeated pattern of inappropriate online behavior.
What's next for Joy Taylor?
Brown, who officially retired from the NFL in 2023 after winning a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has made headlines in recent years more for his online antics than his football legacy. His post targeting Taylor only adds to a growing list of controversies.
