He said: "It's a special feeling to sign for Aberdeen. "The best move for me is to come here. "Everyone knows that it's a huge club in Scotland and Europe. "I had a really positive and important talk with the manager, and he made me feel like I was wanted here. "I will try to bring everything to my team-mates. "I want to achieve things at Aberdeen and hopefully make some good memories." Dons boss Thelin wants to take his new-look squad to the next level ahead of guaranteed European league-phase football this term. He said: "We're delighted to welcome Adil to Aberdeen. "He's a technically gifted player who brings creativity and strong attacking instincts to our midfield. Aberdeen's Scottish Cup-winning heroes greeted by thousands on open top bus parade through the city after beating Celtic "At just 22, he has already played at a high level in France and in England. "Adil's experience, coupled with his desire to keep improving makes him a really exciting addition to the group, and we believe that this is a great environment for him to thrive." Meanwhile, Dons scout Erik Edman insists that they can lure top Scandinavian prospects by being a pathway to England. The ex-Spurs and Sweden star is also No 2 at Swedish minnows Hittarp. Edman said: "We want to be a bridge to England. "It's a selling point Aberdeen have, maybe. "As an example, we took Alexander Jensen last winter, who played for Brommapojkarna at right-back. "He has been very good with us. "The Scandinavian mentality is quite similar to the Scottish one, in terms of culture and the level. "It happens very rarely an Allsvenskan player goes straight to the Premier League. "The intermediate step is often very useful from a career perspective." Tammy Abraham closing in on £17million Roma transfer exit to link up with ex-Man Utd boss
Abraham would join a host of other former Premier League players in Istanbul TAM TO GO Tammy Abraham closing in on £17million Roma transfer exit to link up with ex-Man Utd boss Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) TAMMY ABRAHAM is set for a move to Turkey with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Besiktas. The England striker has spend the last four seasons in Italy after laving boyhood club Chelsea. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 Tammy Abraham is set to join Besiktas Credit: Getty Abraham, 27, joined Roma in 2021 and netted 37 times in 120 appearances for I Giallorossi. The 6ft 4in striker spent last season on loan with Italian rivals AC Milan, netting ten times in all competitions. But that wasn't enough to earn a permanent move as Milan suffered a disappointing season. And he could now be set for a new challenge in Turkey's Super Lig. READ MORE ON FOOTBALL REST IN PEACE Former England striker and Middlesbrough legend Alan Peacock has died aged 87 According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, a verbal agreement has been made between Roma and Besiktas, with Abraham set to jet in for a medical soon. Abraham would be a statement signing Solskjaer, who took the reins in Turkey in January after a three-year spell away from management following his ill-fated tenure with Manchester United. Abraham will join Besiktas' current front-man Ciro Immobile, who netted 15 league goals last season after making his own switch from Serie A in the summer. His arrival would bolster a squad full of ex-Premier League talent, including Arsenal and Liverpool star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and ex-Spurs disappointment Gedson Fernandes. CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS 2 The deal would spark Besiktas' quiet transfer window into life, with their only other business so far being making last year's loan signings of Felix Uduokhai and Joao Mario permanent. Roma appointed former Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini as they're new manager earlier this month, throwing Abraham's future into uncertainty. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer blasts Besiktas for having 'no scouting department' after suffering humiliating Europa League exit Abraham would be the latest in a series of Roma departures, with midfielder Enzo le Fee, full-back Samuel Dahl and winger Nicola Zalewski all completing permanent moves away from the club this summer. Abraham moved to Italy for a fee of £35m four years ago after he failed to cement himself in the Chelsea set-up.

Mauricio Pochettino reveals the truth about interview for Premier League return
Former Tottenham and current USA boss Mauricio Pochettino has regularly been linked with a number of Premier League roles since his departure from North London and has spoken out on recent speculation Mauricio Pochettino insists he never spoke to Brentford despite claims that he was interviewed for their manager's role. The Bees launched a hunt for a new boss this summer after Thomas Frank departed for Tottenham following the departure of Ange Postecoglou. Before promoting set piece coach Keith Andrews, it was reported that Pochettino was in the running for a return to the Premier League. It was suggested that the ex-Spurs boss had been interviewed for the role. But that is something that the Argentine has strongly denied. As quoted by FOX Sports, Pochettino said: "This club never contacted me. I never talked to them." Rumours of a switch to Brentford surfaced after Pochettino was ironically linked with a return to Tottenham. But Pochettino explained why the time was not right for a reunion with his former club. Speaking earlier this month, he said: "Since I left in 2019, for the position of the manager or the head coach, my name has been appearing on every list! If you are seeing the rumors I've seen, there are 100 coaches on their list! Don't be worried about that. If something happened, you will see, but we cannot talk about this type of thing." He added: 'If something happened, for sure you will see, but we cannot talk about this type of thing, because I think today, it's not real. It's not realistic. Look at where I am, where we are. And the thing is, the answer is so clear, no? But we're talking about it because it's my club, like Newells or Espanyol.' Pochettino though has never hidden his desire to move back to Spurs at some point in the future. Speaking in March, he said: 'I am going to repeat. In the bottom of my heart I still feel the same. "I would like one day to come back. Not because of my ego it's because my feeling is I would like one day to win with Tottenham. 'I think now Tottenham is a club with an expectation to win because if you see the facilities – training ground or stadium – now you can see it is about winning trophies. That is why I would like one day to come back. 'But if that doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. With all the possibilities again to build something special, that is my feeling and it didn't change. It's six years since we left and it's always going to be a special club for me.'
