LaPointe Resort 2026 Collection

Sally LaPointe has a new office. It's one floor down from where she was a year ago, but the space is vastly different. Not only does it feel like twice the size of her previous headquarters, but the massive floor-to-ceiling windows makes it feel warmer, perhaps symbolizing the start of an even sunnier year for LaPointe, who reports that she's doing well at retail. For resort, the designer wanted to focus on making the things that she and her customers love. 'Pre-collections are always a joy for me. Being able to just zero in on the fashion and deliver things that I know my woman will love is very satisfying,' she said. Many of her favorite statement pieces returned this season but in comfortable versions. New this season was eveningwear in a very luxe and thick jersey that really contours the body. Her color palette—bold turquoise and burgundy with a slight sheen—added to the statement-making effect. LaPointe is known for her sexy designs, but this season there was a wider breadth of styles on offer, including a mini-shift dress with her signature feather trim that was very uptown in style. Similarly, the brand is proving to be a big hit in the Middle East, thanks to her lightweight caftans and capes, which this season she produced in even more colors and variations. LaPointe may have conquered New York City's fashionistas, but the international ones aren't far behind.

How to shop for a swimsuit and not hate it! The ultimate guide to finding a figure-flattering one-piece - and 14 shaping styles that are sexy and supportive

Having a beach vacation on the horizon is exciting, but for many of us the idea of shopping for swimwear fills us with dread. Leaving aside the harsh fitting room lighting (trust us when we say no-one ever looks good under those lights, no matter your age or body shape), the search for a cozzie that's stylish and supportive can be quite challenging. One of the biggest hurdles to overcome is inconsistent sizing. The digit on the tag of your trousers or dress is almost irrelevant when you're trying on a swimsuit. There are a number of reasons you might want to size up or down: maybe you're looking for something with a little more (or a little less) coverage, or you've got a fuller bust or bum. It's important that you feel great in your swimsuit. You'll want the design to cinch you in at the waist (hello, shaping swimwear) and show off all your best parts, whether that's your curves or legs. But a one-piece should be comfortable, too. There's nothing worse than straps digging into your shoulders or neck (that's why it's generally best to avoid halternecks). You'll want to look for swimsuits with design features like ruching and shirring (to define the waist), belted waists and twist details (to create an hourglass illusion) and high-cut legs and plunging necklines (to add the illusion of length). Need a little more support? Search for swimsuits with built-in tummy-control panels that will smooth out any bumps. This season, there are a ton of swimwear brands to choose from that offer different levels of support. We've looked through them all to bring you our edit of the best shaping swimsuits to add to your holiday wish list. The old wives tale that will instantly get rid of sweaty smells on your clothes and ‘works a treat'

THERE'S nothing worse than pulling out an outfit and realising that there is a smell of sweat lingering on the fabric. There are so many reasons that this can happen - for example, some materials can't be washed, and therefore it's harder to remove bacteria that can transfer into the clothes. 2 Or if you've bought an outfit off a hanger, then lingering sweat, skin oils, and bacteria can accumulate on it. Even hanging up clothes that have not completely dried in tight spaces like wardrobes, which aren't well ventilated, can leave a lingering odour. Luckily, there's a handy old wives' trick that can quickly get rid of this issue, and fashion fans swear it "works a treat". People have been sharing the top tip on social media after a woman pleaded for help to get a lingering sweat smell off her wedding dress. Posting on the Wedding DIY UK Facebook group, which boasts 162,400 members, one woman explained she bought her dress off the hanger. But she revealed that after putting her dress in a bag and leaving it in her wardrobe, she pulled it out the night before her big day and realised there was a strong odour coming from it. Looking for a quick fix, she posted: "I've just got my dress out of the bag and it smells of stale sweat... I get married tomorrow. "How do I get rid of this! Please help". Fashionistas were quick to flock to the comments to share an old wives' tale that works well in taking away the smell. They explained that creating a mixture of vodka and water is the perfect solution and works on all types of fabric. Stacey Solomon shares 3p way to clean your windows which doesn't leave any smears & you may already have it at home All you need to do is fill half of a spray bottle with vodka and top up the other half with water, and mix or shake it thoroughly. Then just spray the mixture onto the affected clothes and wait for it to work. Users explained that it "works a treat" on everything from wedding dresses to clothes. And many revealed it is also an old theatre hack that is often used when certain costumes can't be washed due to the fabric. One person even said that it works when it comes to collecting and selling vintage clothes. Posting in the comments, a user said: "There's the traditional customer trick of a bottle of half cheap vodka and half water sprayed onto the dress". Another added: "Spray it with vodka. It's an old theatre trick. Some costumes can't be washed so they spray them with vodka and it works a treat". Someone else wrote: "I've heard vintage resellers talking about using vodka to get rid of any smells". And a fourth shared: "50/50 vodka and water misted on and left to dry. Did this for many years in the theatre." And a fifth chimed in: "I've heard using vodka is good". So, how does it work? If you are a little sceptical about this trick, you're not alone. But vodka, as it turns out, is actually the perfect odour remover for anything that can't be washed. This is because vodka itself is odourless and colourless, and it even has a sanitising effect. What else can vodka clean? IT'S not just clothes that vodka can remove smells from. Many homeowners actually use it on their furniture, like their sofas, curtains and mattresses. Surfaces like these may seem impossible to clean because they're so large and can't always be put in the washing machine, but using this trick routinely can keep them fresh and get rid of unwanted smells. Using vodka is an easy way to make sure that items you don't want to put in your washing machine can last longer. And it also works wonders for deodorising well-worn shoes! Martha Stewart is known for using this hack to keep her boots and shoes fresh and actually shared a video with followers on Instagram. In the clip, she sprayed a pair of boots in her hallway and said, "Say goodbye to musty smells". It works because it has a high alcohol content, which kills germs and bacteria, and as you spray it over your clothes, the alcohol surrounds the smelly molecules that are clinging to the material. As the spray begins to dry, the vodka evaporates, taking the unwanted smell with it, so by the time it is completely dry, the odour has vanished. It's not just sweaty smells that this hack can be used for - the high alcohol content is also strong enough to remove food smells, to even cigarette smoke. But before you try this, it's important to make sure you have the right kind of vodka. It needs to be an unflavoured and colourless bottle, otherwise it will leave marks on the clothes, and they could end up sticky. The quality doesn't matter, however, so feel free to use the cheapest vodka you have since you're only using it to clean! If you're buying a new bottle, then take a quick look for the cheapest ones with the highest levels of alcohol content. Then just spray the fabric with the drink - but make sure you don't leave it soaking wet - and let it work its magic. 2

How to wear a floral midi dress in your 50s without looking dated

Those pesky fashionistas have been prophesying the floral midi dress' demise for a few years now. Muttering about them being 'over'. Making snide comments about their 'basic' nature. I've been ignoring such whisperings because I love them. Floral midi dresses are my dream garment. A single piece of clothing (less washing!) that's easy to throw on. You can dial up their smartness with heels or make them casual with sandals or trainers. For me, they're flattering because they show off my narrowest part (ribcage) and skim over the fullest (my hips). And, bonus, I only have to shave/tan my legs from the knee down. When the trend hit, probably five or so years ago, I welcomed their arrival with trumpets. Rejoiced that the style stars had aligned for me. And so, I invested heavily. Bought cheap ones from Zara, mid-priced ones from Wyse, expensive ones from Ba&sh and dreamt of Erdem and Valentino. At the time, it was a departure from my usual, Kate Moss-inspired style. In my fantasies, I have her wardrobe. Chic, sexy and a little bit rock n roll. Think sheer chiffon blouses, pencil skirts, high heels, patterned tights, leather and suede. And all black. Made edgy with distressed seams and a flash of lingerie. But then the arrival of these floral dresses convinced me to do a style 180 and embrace overt femininity. I was happy with my decision. Until last year, when the white trainer/ floral dress combo suddenly felt a bit, whisper it, dated. This year, when the weather finally perked up, I looked in my wardrobe, crammed with floral dresses and I did an involuntary sigh. Did I need to do a cull? Take the whole lot to the charity shop? I have been mulling over this conundrum for the last few weeks, and I have decided the answer is a resolute no. My finances can't deal with the sudden loss of 80% of my wardrobe. So, I consulted with my stylist friends, and we concluded that by switching up my accessories/approach, the floral midi can live to see another season. The most important thing is not to be too 'polite' with the look. Being too conservative (court shoes/blow out, etc) is what makes it look dated. Try teaming your dress with boots to counterbalance the femininity. Ankle boots in suede have an 'I'm with the band' vibe. Try Isabel Marant's styles if you can afford them (or a copy if you can't). Biker boots also work. Change up your trainers. The plain white ones you had a few years ago? Switch to a chunkier, more sporty style. Embrace boho. If you are buying a new floral dress, take inspiration from the aesthetic at Chloé and Zimmerman. Think ethereal, flouncy, and romantic. Look to add elements of 90s style to your floral dress. Sheer fabrics for an edge, or try out a slip shape. Your hair is important here. A little mussed-up hair a la Sienna Miller is good. Newsreader style helmet head? Not so much. Lingerie accents make a dress instantly feel sexier. Think lace, silk and spaghetti straps.

I'm 5ft 9' & tried 7 dresses under £20 – Primark's viral one showed my cheeks while ‘flattering' M&S frock was frumpy

FROM runways to affordable high street clothing ranges, we all know that the fashion industry still has a long way to go in creating a more diverse landscape. As well as seriously failing in size - whether you have a bigger or a smaller bust and so on - there's also a serious lack of height inclusivity, something I know too well as someone who's 5'9ft. Historically, mainstream and fast fashion brands have catered for the average height – which reaches just 5ft 4in for a woman in the UK. This means that many trending and viral pieces garments are inaccessible to taller fashionistas like myself - especially when it comes to rocking a mini dress in summer. While I am all for a leggy display, some of the mini frocks are often too short even for my liking - and that comes from someone who sports teeny shorts at the gym. From short cuffs to even shorter hems, finding clothes online, or even in store, that will fit comfortably - and won't have your cheeks on show - can be challenging. So if you're like me and are tired of having to wear maxi dresses when it's boiling hot, see which viral mini frocks, including trending Primark numbers, will cover your dignity - and the ones that will give strangers a full show for free. New Look Tiered Mini Dress, £29.99 12 12 While I rarely shop at New Look - purely because there isn't one near me - my fashion-obsessed friends always rave about their huge collection of summer dresses. One of the many items that have been flying off the shelves is their Tiered Mini Dress, setting you back just £29.99. Available in white and fiery red, this little number can be styled up or down - pair it with hot trainers and you're good to go for a sunny picnic, or team it with strappy heels and you're bound to turn heads. But is it tall girlie-approved? Absolutely - but do make sure to wear skin-toned undies, as the material is quite see-through. Although this summery and flirty frock covered my dignity, it's simply not the one for me - as it felt like I was rocking an apron. Fashion fans 'need' Primark's new £14 linen trousers - there's two colours to choose from and they're great for spring Primark Kids Gingham Check Dress, £10 It's one the latest items that broke the internet - the viral Primark Gingham Check Dress that petite fashionistas could easily pull off, despite it being sold at the kids' section. The gorgeous mini frock, retailing for just a tenner, screams summer picnics in the park thanks to its timeless check print. To give the adorable dress a fair chance, I picked it up in the biggest size possible - aimed for 14 and 15-year-old teenagers. Although I somehow managed to squeeze into this teeny dress, it's safe to say it came off the second I turned around and was gobsmacked by how short it is - which shouldn't have been a shock, really. It's a real shame, as I loved the print and the cut - but if you're anything above 5'5'', I'd suggest to steer clear of this number... unless you want to have your cheeks hanging out - quite literally. New Look Black Square Neck Flared Mini Dress, £32.99 12 This head-turning number features a timeless design that's sure to remain a hit for the summers to come - a square neckline teamed with a flowy bottom half, ideal to hide the bloating from all those cheeky Aperols. Online, this LBD is also available in sky blue and vibrant red - perfect if you want to add a pop of colour to your summer wardrobe. One shopper, who is 5'2'', praised the wallet-friendly frock, claiming it ''gives a lovely shape'' - but will it be tall girl-approved? If you're on the lookout for something basic yet flirty - and comfortable - this dress is a winner. While I wasn't a great fan with how it looked with my white Veja trainers, this LBD would look incredible paired with strappy heels, a golden necklace and statement earrings. More importantly - it covers everything it needs to cover, while still having that cheeky and playful side to it. Top Primark summer buys IF you're looking for more Primark summer buys, then you've come to the right place. Shoppers have recently been raving about the new Miffy PJs from Primark. Others were desperate to nab the new leopard print nightwear. If animal print is your thing, you'll want to check out the new maxi skirts. The haltnerneck tops are perfect for summer. If you're on a budget, these trousers are identical to a pair from Zara, but without the hefty price tag. There's brilliant travel essentials for less than £10. And if you plan on heading to the beach, you won't want to miss these crochet bags. Primark Sleeveless Corset Mini Dress, £23 When in doubt - or on a budget - Primark is the go-to for millions of Brits on the lookout for last-minute garments, or Anthropologie dupes and cotton-rich bedding. In the recent years, our favourite discount retailer has seriously upped its fashion game - and this Sleeveless Corset Mini Dress is no exception. Setting you back a mere £23, this skater-style dress comes in cream, hot pink and floral - the latter of which caught my eye right away - and features an adorable bow detailing on the back. The model online is only a tad bit shorter than me, reaching at 5'7ft - and the dress was already giving quite the leggy display, so it's safe to say I was rather sceptical before putting it on. And rightly so - as while from the front it did cover my bits, you couldn't say the same about the party in the back. Drop Waist Sleeveless Dress, £10 12 After the epic fail of the adorable gingham Primark dress, I didn't have much hope for this Girls Drop Waist Sleeveless Dress, priced at just £10. But while it was clearly too small and designed for someone who hasn't hit puberty yet, it did somehow cover my lower half - though just about. The buttermilk yellow - one of the most trending colours of the season - complimented my tan and I liked the bottom half of the dress. However, if you're on the taller or more athletic side - save that £10, as you won't be able to get both of arms in and you'll most likely just end up looking like an overgrown toddler. 12
