One dead, one ‘fighting for their life' after Oxford County crash
One person has died and according to police, one person is 'fighting for their life,' following a crash in Oxford County on Tuesday. OPP were called to the scene at Road 84 and 31st Line in Zorra around 9 a.m. for a two-vehicle crash between an SUV and a delivery truck. The impact of the crash sent the SUV into a ditch, landing on its roof. The delivery vehicle came to a stop near the south ditch. OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk told CTV News that a passersby tried to help the people involved while emergency responders rushed to the scene. 'I'm sad to see that one of the occupants in the motor vehicle suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. The second occupant in that motor vehicle was airlifted by ORNGE to a trauma center to be treated for injuries, and they're currently in hospital fighting for their life right now. ' Sanchuk stated the distraught driver of the delivery truck was being treated for minor injuries. zorra - fatal - crash - june 2025 An OPP collision reconstruction team is working to piece together exactly what happened. Sanchuk said he expects the investigation to take several hours. The incident is the latest in a string of fatal and serious collisions on southwestern Ontario roads in recent days. Tuesday's crash took place just 10 kilometres east of a crash that took the lives of four teens and their coach on May 23. Asked about the proximity, Sanchuk said, 'We need to make sure that everyone puts traffic safety as a priority because traffic safety is everyone's responsibility. And again, it's just when you get behind that wheel, make sure you're focusing all of your attention on driving.' 1 dead following fiery overnight crash on I-580 in Livermore
Eastbound Interstate Highway 580 is fully accessible again in Livermore after a fatal crash and vehicle fire occurred on the freeway early Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. Around 2:40 a.m., a collision was reported involving a motorcycle on I-580's eastbound lanes near the Isabel Avenue off-ramp. At least one big-rig was also involved in a vehicle fire in the area, CHP officials said. CBS The law enforcement agency confirmed the collision was fatal around 3:20 a.m. Eastbound Highway 580 from Airway Boulevard to Isabel Avenue was shut down due to the crash. OPP were called to the scene at Road 84 and 31st Line in Zorra for a two-vehicle crash between an SUV and a delivery truck. According to police, the person who died and the person airlifted to hospital were in the SUV — the driver of the delivery truck has what are considered minor injuries. The roadway is currently closed for the investigation. More details will be provided as they become available.

One dead after vehicle strikes tree, bursts into flames west of London

Middlesex OPP said a vehicle was traveling north on Pratts Siding Road, just south of Longwoods Road, when it left the roadway and struck a tree at River Road. The vehicle then burst into flames. Emergency crews were called to the scene around 12:45 p.m. OPP Const. Jeff Hare said the vehicle was fully engulfed in fire when crews arrived. Is it a common thing? Lately, we've had a lot of fatals, unfortunately. And they're becoming way too common,' said Hare. Pratts Siding between Longwoods and McMurchy Line was expected to be closed for most of the afternoon.
