Meghan continues floral obsession as she shares video of her picking roses - days after Kate had variety of the flower named after her
Meghan Markle's penchant for flower arrangement was on full display in a newly shared video of her curating a bunch of roses - just days after Princess Catherine had a species of the flower named after her. In a montage posted to her Instagram page, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, put together a bouquet of bright fuchsia roses to LL Cool J's hit 90s track Doin' It. As the lyrics 'doin' it well' played on repeat in the background, Meghan showed off her flower arrangement skills - a hobby she finds 'calming and meditative'. She recently shared similar videos, including one of her huge blooming garden at her £11 million Montecito family home and another of her arranging flowers with her late rescue dog Guy. In an episode of her Netflix series - With Love, Meghan - the Duchess said: 'I learned a lot of this when I was pregnant with my son, Archie. My girlfriends threw a baby shower for me, and one of the things we did was learn flower arranging. 'I started to find this really calming and meditative, so when I have a little bit of time at the end of the day, I do this. I have a glass of wine and just enjoy it.' Despite her best efforts to align herself with all things floral, it was Princess Catherine who was honoured by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) with a pink rose named after her this month. To celebrate her work highlighting the 'incredible healing power of nature' and to help raise vital funds for cancer care, the RHS officially named the coral-pink floribunda Catherine's Rose. A donation of £5 will be made to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity for every Catherine Rose sold. The funds will help the the Royal Marsden, where Kate underwent chemotherapy treatment last year, establish a unique training programme for clinical teams across the country. This specialist prehabilitation and rehabilitation initiative will help to ensure patients who need intensive support live well with, and beyond, cancer. Kate, who revealed she had been diagnosed with cancer in March last year, underwent a course of preventative chemotherapy and announced in September that she had completed her treatment. She made a surprise visit in January to the Royal Marsden Hospital where she was treated and revealed she was in remission. The RHS also bestowed the name Catherine's Rose on the flower to raise awareness of the role that spending time outdoors plays in supporting people's mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing. Mother-of-three Kate has been open about how the natural world has brought her comfort as she's struggled through a difficult year. Kate has previously described finding nature 'very spiritual' and discussed her 'intense emotional reconnection' with the environment during a trip to the Lake District to meet with Scouts getting their Naturalist Badge in March. The royal also explained on Mother's Day this year that nature 'has been our sanctuary'. Sharing a clip which celebrates the power of Mother Nature, Kate wrote: 'Over the past year, nature has been our sanctuary. Meghan assembles the roses and various greenery into a beautiful floral arrangement on her Netflix show Catherine's Rose (pictured), a coral-pink floribunda, has a rich perfume with hints of Turkish Delight and mango, the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) said 'This Mother's Day, let us celebrate Mother Nature and recognise how our bond with the natural world can help not only nurture our inner selves, but remind us too of the role we play within the rich tapestry of life. C.' Meanwhile, in July last year, while she was still undergoing chemotherapy, she issued a statement hailing the 'power of nature' in supporting 'wellbeing' as she marked the opening of the Natural History Museum's new gardens. 'I am hugely supportive of the Museum's commitment to create a special space which encourages people of all ages to reconnect with nature and learn more about how we can protect our natural world,' Kate wrote on Instagram. 'I know the power of nature to support our development and wellbeing, both by bringing us joy and helping to keep us physically, mentally and spiritually healthy. 'I hope these gardens will be inspiring and transformative for the thousands of people who visit.' Clare Matterson, RHS Director General, said: 'As well as supporting the incredible work of The Royal Marsden, Catherine's Rose will raise awareness of how nature and gardening can help to heal. 'We know how important this message is as every day we see how accessing nature and being outside is vital for our health and happiness. 'Crucially too, Harkness Roses has done a wonderful job breeding this spectacular rose that is going to bring so much joy to all our nation's gardeners and keep our precious pollinators buzzing too! It's a really special rose.' Bred by Harkness Roses, the flowers (pictured) will be available to purchase from today via and and for every plant sold £5 will be donated to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity Philip Harkness, Managing Director, Harkness Roses, said: 'We're delighted the RHS is naming this stunning floribunda rose for The Princess of Wales, celebrating wellness and nature. 'It is a privilege for Harkness Roses to work with The Royal Marsden where donations of this beautiful rose will help raise funds for this vital charity.' Catherine's Rose will be available by pre-order only and roses will be delivered in Autumn 2025 as bare root plants. With flowers that attract pollinators, Catherine's Rose will thrive in a mixed border, as a hedge, in a large container or in a rose bed, said the RHS. There will be 15,000 Catherine's Rose available in 2025. The bare root rose will be £29.99 and potted plant £34.99. Further Catherine's Roses will be available in Spring and Autumn 2026.

The new way to wear designer florals for spring 2025
Florals have had bad press in recent years. Once a reliable go-to for the fashion loyalist seeking to inject a little colour into their lives, blooming prints suddenly felt dowdy, out of date and, frankly, a bit naff. All that looks set to change, provided you wear your florals in the right way this summer, as prints that take their lead from horticulture find their way back into the playbook of the superstylish. Moody and anything but twee, the florals of 2025 have an edge. Instead of featuring on floaty dresses these lurid interpretations of pansies, daisies and winding wisteria come on side-skimming trousers, blouson shorts and slouchy dresses that should be worn oversized alongside chunky shoes and an unkempt hair do. The flower itself

(Photo by) Miranda Priestly's famous "Florals? For Spring?" quip from the movie 'Devil Wears Prada", captured fashion's most enduring "trend." Yet florals don't need to feel predictable when approached thoughtfully. Forget relegating them to seasonal rotation; florals deserve permanent wardrobe status through jewelry, accessories, clothing, shoes, and outerwear. Sophia Lorimer, stylist and founder of Fine-Tuned Wardrobe, agrees: "florals aren't going anywhere, but how you wear them makes all the difference. That means moving beyond fleeting trends and choosing florals that tell a story through vintage findings, upcycled pieces, or a print that genuinely resonates with your style." This year, think about florals in a fresh and imaginative manner and find ways to incorporate them that feel modern, personal, and aligned with a more intentional approach to personal style. Looking to make that floral dress more than just a seasonal one-hit wonder? The secret's in smart selection and styling. According to Lorimer, the floral revolution starts with substance that include heavier fabrics, brocade detailing, and textured prints that bring dimension and staying power. 'Select a color palette that works beyond spring that may include jewel tones, earthy hues, or monochrome florals will carry through to autumn too.' Think about incorporating brocade brilliance and making florals interesting in a dramatic way. The brocade collection from Mac Duggal is serving serious style with zero seasonal restrictions. Florals don't need to be restricted just to daytime affairs. Elevate with a darker base and ... More intricate designs. Let's be real: what's brunch without florals? While you are enjoying your plate of eggs and cappuccino, make sure you are donning The Marilyn Dress from Marie Oliver. Whether you are hosting, or attending an occaison, this Estine wrap skirts brings the drama in an ... More effortlessly chic way. Why limit your floral obsession to clothing that cycles in and out of your closet? This year, make the brilliant switch to floral jewelry including timeless investments in a variety of precious metals and stones that deliver just the right botanical punch without overwhelming your look. These pieces work their magic year-round sans seasonable restrictions. When you think of florals, you may envision a beautiful garden setting. This statement piece features golden wildflowers crafted with jaw-dropping detail inspired by designer Capucine De Wulf Gooding who created her entire Spring 2025 collection after a magical day with her mother at Château de Villandry in France. The duo wandered through gardens bursting with hundreds of flower species and watched tiny frogs create ripples across tranquil ponds. As a result, each piece in her collections reflects her exploration of fascinating materials and techniques in a whimsical manner. Wearing florals on your wrist never looked better and thanks to this cuff made out of 18K gold, you ... More have a statement piece wherever you go. Forget classifying this as jewelry, but wearable art that is celebrity-approved. This SOVA ring featuring roses symbolizes eternal beauty and love and will be a staple on your hand. If you are still unsure whether you are ready to fully commit to florals, try a brooch for instant floral flair. Helena Simon's handcrafted blooms transform fleeting garden beauties into forever treasures. Using century-old tools and luxurious silk, each petal and leaf is individually cut, embossed, and assembled by hand in her New York atelier. Finished with hand-dyed stamen and antique crystal details, these aren't just accessories, but potential family heirlooms that can be passed down through generations. The white poppy brooch is adorned with antique hand-dyed stamens of yellow and apple green and is an ... More elegant addition to any outfit. As Lorimer explains, "A floral blazer or jacket is a powerful way to introduce print into a structured look, but not all floral jackets deliver the same impact. The key is finding one that transcends typical 'special occasion' territory." FOUND's floral embroidered work jacket masterfully balances utility with artistic expression. Crafted from robust cotton canvas, it features substantial yet intricate chainstitch floral embroidery throughout, creating texture, dimension, and strategic color accents. Practical welt pockets, button closures, and adjustable cuffs maintain functionality, while thoughtful tonal stitching keeps the aesthetic sophisticated. Its relaxed silhouette makes it an exceptionally versatile layering piece that will turn heads no matter where you go. This unisex, true to size floral jacket is a great outerwear option for all seasons. You can go an extra step with your styling too. Besides neutral colors like black, gray or white, try different textures and fabrics. "A floral blazer paired with denim is classic," notes Lorimer, "but for a truly fresh perspective, layer it over a monochrome ensemble in an unexpected hue such as deep burgundy or olive green rather than predictable pastels." Along with your blazer or jacket of choice, why not see how floral expressions through scarves look. While Lorimer favors vintage silk scarves for their superior quality and hand-painted or artisanal prints, she appreciates how larger scarves transform into belts, bag accessories, or even statement tops. Her expert styling advice: "Wrap one around your wrist, thread it through belt loops, or secure it to your bag for a subtle print moment. I love incorporating floral scarves in unexpected ways—styling one as a hair accessory or positioning it beneath a blazer lapel creates a sophisticated pop of pattern." Floral patterns aren't exclusive to women's fashion.
