Ready to thrill - De Cuyper relishes link up with Mitoma
Max De Cuyper is relishing the chance to partner Kaoru Mitoma in the Premier League. And he said he is likely to pop up in goalscoring positions when the time is right. De Cuyper is expected to make his Prem debut when Albion face Fulham on Saturday. He capped a promising pre-season campaign following his summer move from Club Brugge by scoring the winner against Wolfsburg. The left-sided link between De Cuyper, a converted winger, and Mitoma looks an exciting one for the Seagulls. De Cuyper said: 'If you can play with a winger like this, I think everybody knows his qualities. More on De Cuyper... Minteh takes star billing and De Cuyper shows what he can offerBig decision which changed De Cuyper's career - and could be great news for AlbionEnjoy De Cuyper? So far, so good as Max catches the eye in Albion dress rehearsal 'I can take advantage of his qualities and, if he is pulling to defenders to him, it gives me more space to do something. 'I think we have a good co-operation between each other and we can use it.' De Cuyper finished from the six-yard to secure the 2-1 success over Wolfsburg. He added: 'I was in the right place. 'It can be that I will be there often with the right timing. 'Not every attack I will be there so I have to take my moment and hopefully score more goals.' De Cuyper had his first run-out during the trip to Spain and believes he has progressed through pre-season. He added: 'I needed some time. We already had a long preparation so I really needed the time to know my team-mates. 'It's not from the first friendly I am playing like this. 'I start to know my team-mates now and the way we want to play so it is growing every week.'

'Superb' Wareham 'did Exeter number nine shirt proud'
Exeter City manager Gary Caldwell has hailed Jayden Wareham's goalscoring home debut as a "superb" 22-year-old, who was a summer signing from Reading, scored City's third goal having set up the first in Saturday's 4-1 win over performance was even more poignant, coming the day before the 15th anniversary of the death of former Exeter striker Adam became just the third player to wear Exeter's number nine shirt since Stansfield's death from cancer in 2010 and the first since his son Jay wore the number during a loan spell three years ago."I think the goal was a bonus, I think the performance was superb," Caldwell told BBC Radio Devon."How he led the line, how he held the ball up, the work he put in for the team in and out of possession he was a tireless runner."The big thing I said to him when the the discussions started about getting the shirt was he said he wants it, as a number nine scores goals."I said 'I agree, but if you take this shirt then you'll be judged on your work rate and the way you play for the team' and I think he did the number proud." There was also a rare goal for homegrown striker Sonny Cox as he came off the bench to get the fourth goal in the last minute of the win at St James was Cox's first goal for City since the start of March and Caldwell says it capped off an impressive few weeks for the 20-year-old."I think Sonny's been superb in pre-season, a little bit unlucky not to to be in the team today," Caldwell said."But he's a really good player to have on the bench to come on, whether it's a nine or a 10, he's fantastic out of possession and again delighted for him."That's the minimum, the goal then becomes a little bonus for him and will do his confidence really good, but he's in a very good place as well and hopefully he can kick on from that."

One Of Cam Atkinson's Team Records Is In Kirill Marchenko's Sights
Former CBJ legend Cam Atkinson is at the top of many stat categories for the Jackets. After all, he did play 627 games before the trade to Philadelphia. Atkinson is currently the owner of two records for the Blue Jackets: Short-Handed Goals(16) and Hat Tricks(6). Of these two, only one is on the verge of being broken, and that's Hat Tricks. Atkinson's six hat tricks are one ahead of retired legend Rick Nash, and three above the next player. That player is Kirill Marchenko, who, in just two seasons, is already third on the career hat trick list. That's either an indictment of the Blue Jackets and their inability to score goals for the last 25 years, or an indication that Kirill Marchenko is going to be a menace for many years to come. It's probably both to be honest. Kirill Marchenko has a chance to catch Cam Atkinson this upcoming season if he can put together a fourth season straight of excellent play, specifically goal scoring. In his first three years, he's scored 75 goals and totaled 141 points. Three hat tricks in a season are not out of the realm of possibility for young Marchenko. If he keeps shooting the puck, he could score 40 next year, but that all depends on whether he can step up his production on the power play. He only scored two, yes, two power-play goals last season, and that has to change. Kirill Marchenko, after just three-plus seasons, could force his way to the top of the CBJ record books, and we're here for it. He could also move into the top-8 in all-time goals as well, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there. Kirill Marchenko is on his way to becoming an all-time Jacket. Striker looking to put injury-hit first months in the past after solid pre-season
TOM Bradshaw is looking to put an injury-hit first few months at Oxford United behind him and build on the goalscoring rhythm he has enjoyed in pre-season. The 33-year-old striker joined the U's from Millwall for an undisclosed fee midway through the January transfer window, but fitness and injury concerns limited him to just 11 Sky Bet Championship appearances, with only four of those starts. Bradshaw didn't manage to find the net for United in the previous campaign, but has grabbed three goals in pre-season, including against CD Leganes on Tuesday night. READ ALSO: Summer signings impress, wingers catch eye & injuries testing depth The striker said: 'For me, it was about staying fit throughout pre-season and getting my body in the best condition possible to start the season. 'Scoring three goals is always good for confidence as a striker because it's all about getting into rhythms and getting into good habits. 'It's funny what putting the ball in the back of the net for a striker does to you. They're good habits to take into the season and hopefully I can carry it on. 'I feel really good. It's been a good solid pre-season. I haven't had any sort of setbacks and physically I feel really good. I feel confident. 'As a team, the numbers that we're putting up are higher than some of our games last year. 'I think that's a really positive sign and it shows we've put a real emphasis on fitness and drive this pre-season, and I think it's starting to show. 'At this point in pre-season, it's about fine-tuning how we are as a team on the ball and off the ball, and getting those details right so by the time Portsmouth comes, we should be all ready and hopefully we can pick up a win.' Reflecting on the game against Leganes, Bradshaw said: 'It was a good test for us. Notoriously, Spanish teams like to pass the ball, and I think it tested us off the ball and it also gave us some transitions as well. 'I think we probably could've scored more on the day, but I think our performance in general was a positive and it's something we can take into the game on Saturday, and try and refine all the points that we want to make right for the start of the season.'
