Liechtenstein 0-4 Scotland PLAYER RATINGS: Who solved Steve Clarke's striking problem? Which midfielder saw passes others wouldn't? Who had nothing to do on his debut?
A hat-trick for Che Adams and a first international goal for George Hirst earned Scotland a convincing victory in their friendly against Liechtenstein. Adams gave them an early lead before adding two more, one of them in stoppage time, on a comfortable night for Steve Clarke's side. In a side that was much-changed from the one that lost 3-1 to Iceland on Friday, Lennon Miller was excellent on his first start for Scotland. Three days after that horrible performance at Hampden, Scotland were more like themselves. Goalkeeper Ross Doohan, a late call-up, had little do to on his debut. The result eases some of the pressure on Clarke, who will now focus on the first match of Scotland's World Cup qualifying campaign, against Denmark in September. A few newcomers have given him food for thought ahead of that challenge. Paul Forsyth weighs up the players' performances in Vaduz. Ross Doohan - 6 Having cut short his holiday to play, the debutant was hardly any busier here. Didn't have a save to make. Anthony Ralston - 6.5 Comfortable throughout. With little to do defensively, he was able to get forward and supplement the attack. Jack Hendry - 7 Strolled through it with plenty of the ball. Picked out nice passes and glanced a second-half header over the bar. Scott McKenna - 6.5 Strong and willing to step out, although he stood off his man when Liechtenstein mustered their one shot at goal. Andy Robertson - 7 Played on the front foot, always probing and looking for space ahead. A focused, professional display by the skipper. Lewis Ferguson - 6.5 Solid and mature on the right of a narrow midfield four. Might have done better with an early scoring chance. Lennon Miller - 8 Confident and assured on his first start. Saw passes others wouldn't. Set up the second goal after leading a press. Billy Gilmour - 7 Kept everything ticking over in his playmaker's role. Passed it well on a slow pitch; delivered some clever through balls. John McGinn - 7 Barged down the left, drawing fouls and hitting the byeline. Tested the keeper with a couple of long-range efforts. Che Adams- 8 At last, a striker who scores goals — three of them. A crisp shot, an instinctive second and a brave header for the third. George Hirst - 7 Scored his first Scotland goal with a poacher's finish at the back post. Forged a promising partnership with Adams. SUBSTITUTES: Doig (Robertson, 59), Irving (McGinn, 59), Patterson (Ralston, 68), Conway (Hirst, 68), Barron (Gilmour 78), Bowie (Ferguson 78). Not used: C McKenna, Slicker, Hanley, Souttar, Wilson, Johnston. Steve Clarke - 7 Gave Lennon Miller a start, picked two strikers and reverted to a back four. Commonsense rewarded. Liechtenstein (3-5-2): Buchel 6 (Ospelt 46); Traber 6, Malin 6, Hofer 6; Kindle 6 (Meier 51), Luchinger 6 (Zund 81), Hasler 6 (Wolfinger 65), Sele 6, Goppel 6; Saglam 6 (Pizzi 81), Luque Notaro 6 (Netzer 51).

Our review of the season part three: The goals
Then there were the hat-tricks. Makeshift striker Dango Ouattara starred in a 5-0 rout of Nottingham Forest, which ultimately improved the goal difference enough to pip Brentford to ninth place. And Justin Kluivert hit two trebles on the road, with a historic hat-trick of penalties at Wolves, before gunning down Newcastle to score more league goals at St James' Park in one game than his father Patrick managed in an entire season on context, that 4-1 win at Newcastle on 18 January was the champagne moment of an unforgettable season. The Magpies went into that game on a run of nine successive wins, being talked about as title contenders, with Alexander Isak on a red-hot streak of 11 goals in his past eight league could only name a patched-up XI with players out of position and a threadbare bench of development squad players, the six outfield subs boasting only four substitute league appearances for the Cherries between them. The omens were not good for the fans who had left their homes in the early hours to make the longest journey of the season for a Saturday lunchtime those fans were treated to a breathtaking performance to live long in the memory. Isak did not get a kick. Even some Newcastle diehards I spoke to after the game hailed it as the best away performance they had seen at St James' Park in the field, the Cherries have a new state-of-the-art training ground – and owner Bill Foley chose its opening ceremony to announce that a deal had been reached to buy back Vitality Stadium, which had been sold and leased back two decades earlier when the financial wolves were years ago, Foley promised European football within five years. While a top-seven place was tantalisingly out of reach in 2024-25, this Bournemouth team have made a habit of shattering glass ceilings - and they are not done just yet.

He netted a hat trick in the vital Game 4 match-up, keeping the Rangers alive as they trailed 3 – 0 in the series. It was the momentum the team needed to pull themselves out of the hole. Ellinas also tucked away the Ranger's overtime goal in Game 7 to cement their comeback victory. However, the Rangers couldn't stand up to the London Knights and were swept out of the playoffs during the Western Conference finals. The 2024-2025 season was Ellinas' second with the Rangers.

'Why we love hat-trick hero Graham'
A wee while back I welcomed you all to the inaugural meeting of the Wes Goosen Appreciation Society. If you didn't attend it might just have been because you were at the regular weekly meeting of the 'We love Darcy Graham' week's gathering was at the Hive when Graham became only the second player in Edinburgh's professional history to score a trio of has plenty of time to top the list as the player he is tied with is the retired Tim Visser. Graham is already the only player to have scored four tries in a match for did something else for the first time too as he got his first yellow card in Edinburgh colours. This is a bit of a surprise as he literally and figuratively plays on the first Edinburgh try came on his debut, against London Irish in December 2017 in the Challenge Cup. I was there and remember the try like it was yesterday as it still typifies his playing were attacking down the left and Phil Burleigh knocked through a grubber. It took a wicked bounce into the air just before the try line over the head of the Irish defender. Graham leapt like a salmon and caught the ball before diving over the defender to score in the were winning 31-10 at the time. There was no requirement for him to put himself in such danger but I don't think it even crossed his mind. His focus was laser Cockerill, prior to the match when asked about giving his debut to the former sevens man, said he "doesn't back away from any contest" and that "I think there's a big future for him".Cockers got that spot on. He seemed to have an eye for a winger!Graham was my player of the match against Ulster last weekend although there were several candidates in what was an outstanding display by biggest win against Ulster in terms of tries scored, margin and points total. More importantly the victory came at a moment when it was basically boom or bust for our top-eight hopes and when faced with that scenario last season against Benetton we folded like a cheap suit. That in itself is progress.A tougher test awaits away to Bulls in the play-offs but we have earned the right to take Smith can be found at The Burgh Watch, external
