Celebrity Big Brother's Trisha Goddard shares health update amid incurable cancer battle
Trisha Goddard shared a health update on Instagram on Sunday amid her incurable cancer battle. The Celebrity Big Brother star, 67, who has secondary breast cancer - also known as metastatic or stage 4 breast cancer - said she is experiencing Raynaud's syndrome, a condition that causes reduced blood flow to the fingers and toes. The condition can be a side effect of some cancer treatments, particularly chemotherapy, and can change the colour of the skin, causing burning or numbness. Trisha posted a photo of her bright white fingers, explaining that her Raynaud's has worsened since being on chemo. She captioned the post: 'Sheesh… Anybody else dealing with pesky Raynaud's? 'If you do, here's what happens when you forget to wear gloves when buying frozen food, and then go about putting it in your freezer, duh! The Celebrity Big Brother star, who has secondary breast cancer - also known as metastatic or stage 4 breast cancer - explained that her Raynaud's has worsened since being on chemo 'Had it mildly for years, but over a year of infusions and chemo every three weeks has ramped up my Raynaud's quite a bit. Ouch! 'Here's herself waiting for the painful fingers to go bright red, then blue, then icily grey/white before they eventually go back to normal.' Trisha added that she's learnt to adjust her lifestyle around the condition - from wearing gloves to using a napkin to hold a cold glass. She continued: 'Over the years, I've learned to adapt; for instance, I wear gloves while driving, so my car's air conditioning doesn't trigger Raynaud's in my fingers. 'When I have a cold drink, I use a napkin to hold the glass and so on. 'BUT every so often I forget; the burning sensation starts and my fingers go painfully numb while they turn the colours of the Union Jack.' She then provided further information about the condition to her followers, adding: 'Bit of info below folks, Chemotherapy can induce or exacerbate Raynaud's phenomenon, a condition where blood vessels in the fingers and toes temporarily narrow in response to cold or stress, leading to reduced blood flow. 'This condition can manifest as skin colour changes (white, blue, red), numbness, and pain in the affected areas. 'While often temporary and resolving after chemotherapy, it's important to manage and be aware of this side effect.' It comes after Trisha opened up about living with stage four cancer in the famous Celebrity Big Brother house last month. Making sure she was fit and well ahead of entering the house, she told MailOnline: 'I went to the infusion centre on April 1. I call it my spa room. 'I had a soupcon of chemo and targeted hormone therapy, one little bag after the other. I have a port catheter [in her chest] and I get plugged in. 'Then the next day I flew over to the UK. I had to wear compression garments – tights and a sleeve on my arm – and I took disinfectant wipes for the seats, tables, armrest and loo. 'My oncologist is brilliant, a rock star, and so sweet. He said, 'I'm going to help you do this because your message [of hope] is so great.' She had an ultrasound scan when she got to England to check she had not developed a deep vein thrombosis – she hadn't – and a medical. Trisha had signed up for Celebrity Big Brother to prove to patients they should 'not be scared of living' after being diagnosed with stage four cancer. After going head-to-head with Patsy Palmer and Jack P Shepherd in the public vote, Trisha received the fewest number of votes to be saved and was the second star to leave. As Trisha headed out of the house, the presenter admitted she was 'a bit sad' to be leaving the show. Speaking to hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best, Trisha brushed off the housemates' reasons for nominating her, especially Chesney Hawkes' that conversations with her felt like being on her talk show. She said: 'That's actually a great compliment... No, because we all said we were all scratching around in the dirt to find something negative to stay around each other.' The star also reflected on her decision to sign up for the show, admitting it was a welcome break for her from cancer treatment. She added: 'Really, it meant a lot, it meant a lot, it was respite it was a holiday from having to think about cancer, because with the BB team and with my team in the Stes so I didn't have to think of the next scan, and I could be like a child again. 'Yes, I did talk about cancer because I had to, and it is part of my life, as it is for 3.4 million Brits. It was just a break from having to think about it.

Emma Willis reveals lifelong impact of undergoing heart surgery as she shares emotional health update live on Lorraine
Emma Willis revealed the lifelong impact of undergoing heart surgery as she shared an emotional health update live on Tuesday's episode of Lorraine. The 49-year-old and husband Matt, 42, appeared on the sofa to chat to host Lorraine Kelly, 65, about their new show Change Your Mind, Change Your Life… with Matt & Emma Willis. The conversation soon turned to Emma's recent keyhole heart surgery, which she underwent in April after doctors found a hole in her heart. Lorraine told her: 'We were worried about you, obviously, the best thing you did was to put that online so you saw you were going through this heart operation, but you were okay! You didn't even know...' Emma said: 'I found out in January - I've had it my whole life.' She continued: 'Thank you for the kindness online. Earlier this month Emma revealed she has 'terrible anxiety' as she opened up about her 'psychological recovery' following her heart surgery 'I genuinely just wanted to thank the hospital, they had been so amazing and everyone that looked after me, they were great. 'The amount of people since said that happened to me, and I found out after having a stroke. 'That kind of really makes you realise, actually, "oh that's what I could have been dealing with". 'So I was so lucky.' Lorraine asked: 'It was kind of a routine check-up thing wasn't it?' Emma explained: 'I had um... my doctor... I've got really high cholesterol.' As she continued, she giggled: 'It's getting very into my medical history. 'They said "Go see a cardiologist". 'I was like, "okay, I did, I had an MRI last year on my heart," and he was like "one side of it is enlarged, and that's not okay". 'And he from there went on... 'I've got a metal plug in it and its ticking still which is great.' It comes after earlier this month revealed she has 'terrible anxiety' as she opened up about her 'psychological recovery' following her heart surgery. Following on from the operation, Emma told The Sun: 'It's a bit of a head scramble when you find out something like that, that you've had something there your whole life, and you had no idea about it. 'I'm a brilliant overthinker, and my mind will go in every possible direction and scenario, so going into something like surgery, I really got myself at it, I get really anxious and nervous.' The keyhole surgery meant Emma avoided an open-heart recovery and she revealed her recovery has been 'smooth' but she has had to learn to adjust. She continued: 'It's been a smooth recovery, it's been much more of a psychological adjustment, because you don't have a wound that you can see. The healing is all internal and you can't feel it. 'It's getting your head around the fact that your heart has to learn how to work in a different way to how it's worked for nearly half a century.' Back in April Emma told fans she discovered she has had a hole in her heart since she was born and so had surgery at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London. Keyhole heart surgery involves making small incisions in the chest as opposed to the breastbone as in traditional open heart surgery. In a lengthy post, Emma thanked her husband Matt and the staff at the Royal Brompton Hospital who looked after her. She wrote: 'A big humungous THANK YOU to the team at the Royal Brompton Hospital for their care and support. 'A few weeks ago, I had keyhole heart surgery, which feels very strange to write, and even stranger when I say it out loud. From investigations last year, to diagnosis and then surgery, they were absolutely incredible. As was @mattjwillis who never left my side. 'Turns out, I've been pottering around for 48 years blissfully unaware I had a hole in my heart. Isn't it bonkers what's happening in our bodies that we have no idea about… 'What blows my mind even more is the wonders of modern medicine, and the spectacular people that save, fix and help us every single day. 'Can you imagine what it must feel like to have a pair of hand that can do that job?! They are the real superstars… ⭐️ 'A few of those people are Dr Alexander Lyon who investigated like a true super sleuth Professor Wei Li, echocardiogram extraordinaire. Catrina, Carl and Tim who kept me at ease and humoured me when they were putting me to sleep. 'Marcus, Janet, Jayne, Hannah and Reem who monitored me at various points. Paulette, who was always up for a chat, gave great hugs, and loves a cinnamon slice as much as I do! 'There was a lovely woman with me in recovery but I was so out of it I can't remember her name (so so sorry) and my surgeon, Dr Ee Ling Heng… She was recommended as 'a spectacular pair of hands', but my god, shes that and so much more. 'She has an ease and warmth that made me feel instantly comfortable all whilst being incredible professional and informative. I ask a million questions, and she answered them with the patience of a saint. 'I knew as soon as we met that she was the woman I wanted poking around in my heart. Thank you Ee Ling, you're one in a trillion.'

King Charles Shares a Rare Update on His Cancer Battle With a Fan After More Than a Year of Treatments

King Charles shocked royal fans when he announced his cancer diagnosis in February 2024 following a procedure for an enlarged prostate. Although the palace has never specified what type of cancer he has—other than clarifying that it's not prostate cancer—The King has made a few brief comments about his health battle while keeping up a busy schedule of royal engagements. Fifteen months into treatment, the monarch has given a rare—and encouraging—update on his health. The King spoke with a former cancer patient while visiting the city of Bradford with Queen Camilla on Thursday, May 15, and florist Safeena Khan shared the details of their conversation (via the Mirror). Khan—who gave King Charles a bouquet of flowers inspired by his garden at Highgrove House—met the monarch along with other local business owners at Impact Hub Yorkshire. "He asked me how I was, and I asked him how he was. There was some pleasantries towards the end, but it was a lovely conversation," she said. When she inquired about his health these days, King Charles "gave her the 'thumbs up'" and said, "I'd like to think I'm on the better side." The King has been receiving outpatient treatment at the London Clinic since he was diagnosed early last year, and despite a minor "bump in the road" when he was briefly hospitalized for observation in late March, his cancer treatments seem to be progressing as hoped. Per the Mirror, palace insiders stated The King was "very much headed in the right direction" after his hospitalization earlier this spring. During his visit to Bradford, King Charles received a special jacket from local tailor Imran Khan—and gave out more than one unexpected hug. In an Instagram Reel from GB News royal correspondent Cameron Walker, Khan has The King help stitch a label on the intricately embroidered piece before saying, "Can I have a hug?" Fifteen-year-old Florence McGrellis also gave the monarch a surprise cuddle at the Hockney Gallery, declaring, "I'm a hugger" and calling her experience with royalty "awesome," per the media outlet.
