The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) invites citizens and residents in Bahrain to visit its awareness stand at Marassi Galleria, starting this week until Tuesday, June 3, to learn about its latest digital projects. Lulwa Sami, Director of Communications and Marketing at the iGA, confirmed that the awareness stand is part of the Authority's ongoing efforts to enhance communication with citizens and residents, raise awareness about integrated digital services and channels, and provide necessary support. It also aims to open direct channels for feedback to help improve the Authority's digital services and projects. The stand will introduce visitors to several digital projects, including the MyGov app and the updated eKey 2.0, both available on the eGovernment app store ( and the 13th eGovernment Excellence Award 2025. Sami added that the stand coincides with the launch of the 13th eGovernment Excellence Award 2025, where visitors will learn about the award's categories, participation requirements, and evaluation criteria, especially the Citizen Award. TDT | Manama Bahrain's non-oil exports hit record BD338 million in April Bahrain's efforts to diversify its economy beyond oil received a boost in April 2025, as non-oil exports of nation- al origin surged by 22% compared to the same month last year. According to the latest Foreign Trade Report released by the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), the Kingdom exported BD338 million worth of domestically produced goods, up from BD277 million in April 2024. The figures reflect growing momentum in Bahrain's industrial base, especially in aluminium and mineral exports, which accounted for the largest share of the month's shipments abroad. Aluminium and iron drive growth Unwrought aluminium alloys continued to be Bahrain's top export, recording a value of BD105 million in April - accounting for 31% of all national origin exports. It was followed by agglomerated iron ores and concentrates alloyed at BD54 million (16%) and non-alloyed alu- minium wire at BD18 million (5%). Saudi Arabia maintained its l e a d a s Bahrain's l a rg e s t export destination, receiving BD81 million worth of goods (24%). The United States followed with BD35 million (10%), and the United Arab Emirates came in third with BD32 million (9%). Imports grow While exports climbed, Bahrain's imports also rose significantly - by 20% - reaching BD575 million in April, up from BD481 million in the same month last year. China was the top country of origin for imports at BD64 million (11%), followed by Australia with BD55 million (10%) and the UAE with BD49 million (9%). Top traded goods Among imports, non-agglomerated iron ores and concentrates led with BD67 million (12%), followed by aluminium oxide at BD51 million (9%) and gold jewellery at BD36 million (6%). On the re- exports side, turbo-jets topped the list at BD7.2 million, with fourwheel drives and gold ingots also featuring prominently. Although re-exports dipped by 9% to BD71 million, the top three markets - the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Luxembourg - accounted for nearly three-quarters of that total.

Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) Chief Executive, underscored the growing Bahraini-Malaysian relations, describing the cooperation between the two countries as a key milestone that fosters strategic collaboration in the digital economy, knowledge exchange, and digital infrastructure development. He emphasised Bahrain's commitment to strengthening international cooperation in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and advancing the digital ecosystem toward becoming a competitive, future-ready nation. He noted that this initiative reflects global confidence in Bahrain's legal, technical, and operational expertise in cloud computing, reinforcing its role as a trusted regional digital hub. Al Qaed added that this move highlights the strong partnership and mutual trust between the two nations, and affirms Bahrain's commitment to data sovereignty and transparency, aligning with the highest regulatory standards and its vision for digital transformation. Bahrain is committed to building a secure digital infrastructure that protects rights and ensures privacy in line with national legislation and global best practices. He said that this decision complies with Decree No. (56) of 2018 on the provision of cloud computing services to foreign entities, as well as all related ministerial regulations. The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) has released its April 2025 Foreign Trade report, which encompasses data on Trade Balance, Imports, national origin Exports and Re-exports. As per the report, the value of non-oil imports has increased by 20%, reaching BD575 million in April 2025 in comparison with BD481 million for the same month in 2024. The top 10 countries for imports recorded 68% of the total value of imports. According to the report, China ranked first for imports to Bahrain, with a total of BD64 million (11%), followed by Australia with BD55 million (10%) and the United Arab Emirates with 49 million (9%). Non-Agglomerated Iron Ores and Concentrates was recorded as the top product imported to Bahrain with a total value of BD67 million (12%), followed by Other Aluminum Oxide with BD51 million (9%) and Jewellery of Gold being the third with BD36 million (6%). On the other hand, the total value of non-oil exports (National Origin) increased by 22% to reach BD338 million during April 2025, compared to BD277 million for the same month in 2024. The top 10 countries in exports (National Origin) accounted for 71% of the exports (National Origin) value. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first among countries for non-oil exports (National Origin) with BD81 million (24%). The United States of America was second with BD35 million (10%), and the United Arab Emirates was third with BD32 million (9%). Unwrought Aluminum Alloys were recorded as the top products exported in April 2025 with BD105 million (31%), followed by Agglomerated Iron Ores and Concentrates Alloyed with a value of BD54 million (16%) and Aluminum Wire not Alloyed with BD18 million (5%). The total value of non-oil Re-exports decreased by 9% to reach BD71 million during April 2025, compared to BD78 million for the same month in 2024. The top 10 countries in Re-exports accounted for 86% of the re-exported value. The United Arab Emirates ranked first with BD30 million (42%), followed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with BD18 million (25%) and Luxembourg with BD5 million (7%). As per the report, Turbo-Jets was the top product re-exported from Bahrain with a value of BD7.2 million (10.1%), followed by Four wheel drive BD7 million (9.9%), and Gold Ingots came third with BD6 million (8%). As for the Trade Balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, the deficit recorded BD166 million dinars in April 2025 compared to a deficit of BD126 million dinars in April 2024.
