What to stream: Get to know films of Ari Aster and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson

Two exciting young genre filmmakers have films out in theaters this weekend: Ari Aster, with the contemporary Western 'Eddington,' which he wrote and directed, and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, with 'I Know What You Did Last Summer,' a remake of the 1997 teen horror classic, which she directed and co-wrote with Sam Lansky and Leah McKendrick. Aster has carved out a name for himself as an auteur of artfully directed horror films that deal with family trauma in surprising and disturbing ways, while Robinson has put her stamp on smart and sassy pop projects with large ensemble casts. Check out their filmographies on streaming before you head to the theater this weekend, to see what their work is all about. Aster first made his mark with his debut feature 'Hereditary,' a terrifying horror film about a trauma that befalls a family, and the strange, even supernatural events that come out of it. Toni Collette and Gabriel Byrne star as parents Annie and Steve, with Alex Wolff and Milly Shapiro as their children. If you still haven't seen 'Hereditary,' the less you know, the better. Rent it on iTunes or Amazon. He followed that up with the folk horror breakup movie 'Midsommar,' starring Florence Pugh and Jack Reynor as a couple whose relationship is on the rocks when they travel to Sweden with a friend, and discover that the midsommar festivities they're attending take place within a strange cult. It's a must-see in the Aster oeuvre. Rent it on iTunes or Amazon. Aster's daring third feature 'Beau Is Afraid' strayed from the traditional horror genre, incorporating different storytelling elements into this sprawling and absurdist family dramedy, about one very anxious man, Beau (Joaquin Phoenix), embarking on a harrowing journey to get home to see his mother (Patti LuPone). You simply have to see it for yourself. Stream 'Beau Is Afraid' on HBO Max, Paramount+, or rent it on other platforms. Robinson created the MTV revenge series 'Sweet/Vicious' about a pair of college student vigilantes who target sexual assailants, and wrote and directed the ensemble Netflix breakup rom-com 'Someone Great,' starring Gina Rodriguez, Brittany Snow, DeWanda Wise and LaKeith Stanfield. Stream 'Someone Great' on Netflix. After writing the abortion road trip buddy comedy 'Unpregnant' (streaming on HBO Max), and co-writing 'Thor: Love and Thunder' (streaming on Disney+), Robinson continued to work with Netflix for her second feature. The snappy high school-set 'Do Revenge' is loosely based on the Patricia Highsmith novel 'Strangers on a Train,' and the Hitchcock film of the same name, but is also made in the mold of classics like 'Heathers' and 'Clueless.' 'Do Revenge' stars Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke and is streaming on Netflix. --- Copyright (C) 2025, Tribune Content Agency, LLC. Portions copyrighted by the respective providers.

All About iPhone Data Recovery

Smartphone is a new tool in the information world; it contains all kinds of data, as well as a huge load of personal and professional data, which is so often used as an iPhone, so recognizable in the labor market as an iPhone due to its excellent technology and security capabilities. But then, accidents do occur- someone can delete a file, a computer can break-down, we forget passwords. That is where iPhone data recovery comes to the rescue. The iPhone data recovery is a process of restoring information lost, deleted or inaccessible on an iPhone, iPad or an iPod Touch. The data loss may be caused by accidental deletion, issues in updating the iOS, factory resetting, any physical damage, and/or by mistakes in jailbreak. Fortunately, most of the lost data can be unconsciously restored using modern tools and techniques of the restoration. Factors on why data gets inaccessible on iPhone are many. Examples of some of the most common ones are: Deletion by mistake: There is a case where photos, messages, and contacts can be mistakenly deleted when users manage their data. Software problems: iOS updates may fail or the system may crash or the application may come to a glitch all of which may lead to loss of data. The device may corrupt the internal memory upon dropping the device or water damage. Jailbreaking bugs: Trying to eliminate iOS limitations can make the phone unstable and result in data loss. Forgotten Passcodes: If you forget your password, it can deny you some of the important files. With iTunes or Finder Backup: In case you have ever created a backup of your device in iTunes on Windows or macOS Mojave and earlier with Finder in macOS Catalina and later, you will have the opportunity to restore everything with the iTunes or Finder backup. The technique erases the existing information on your iPhone and replaces the same with the backup contents. Restoring with iCloud Backup: When you are setting up a new phone, connected to your iPhone, which has been synced with iCloud and you have enabled automatic backups of your device the data can be restored, which will be selected during the setup process, signing in using your iCloud account. It proves to be useful when establishing a new iPhone or following factory reset. Third-Party Software: Third party software is the ideal solution when you lack a backup. Applications such as iMobie PhoneRescue and Gbyte Recovery may be used to scan the phone and recover lost files, especially photos and text messages and other WhatsApp chat messages, call history, and so on. There are programs which even give an overview of recoverable files, without buying it. Turn on iCloud backup or make regular back ups of your iPhone to the computer. Avoid jailbreaking your gadget unless you really need it and you are absolutely aware of the dangers. Start to act promptly when data is lost. The delay you take, the higher the chances of overwriting the deleted files. Recovery programs should be trusted and positively reviewed in order to avoid malware or continued harm. Data recovery on iPhone is a crucial facility in our digitalized live. Irrespective of whether you have lost your data because of a human error, a system malfunction, or even a physical damage, lost files may be retrieved effectively. You can keep your valuable information safe and accessible by being able to know your recovery options as well as put prevention in place. TIME BUSINESS NEWS

BLACKPINK's Jennie just reminded us why she's considered the ultimate fashion icon in K-pop. On July 13th, the rapper-vocalist took to her social media with the caption "everybody say 뛰어" alongside some seriously jaw-dropping behind-the-scenes shots from her recent 'JUMP' performances. And honestly? The girl can make literally anything look like haute couture. The photos showcase Jennie effortlessly pulling off some pretty unconventional stage wear - think latex materials and structured corset tops that would probably have most of us looking like we're trying too hard. But not our girl Jennie. She makes these bold, experimental pieces look like they were custom-made for her, proving once again why she's earned the nickname "Human Chanel" among fans. The Comeback That Had Everyone Jumping This fashion moment comes right after BLACKPINK's massive return to the music scene. Beyoncé's unreleased music stolen from car during Cowboy Carter tour

ATLANTA — Unreleased music by Beyoncé was among several items stolen from a vehicle in Atlanta just days before the singer's four-night Cowboy Carter tour stop in the city, authorities have confirmed. Hard drives containing the unreleased songs, show plans, and past and future set lists for her tour were among the items stolen from a rental car used by the singer's choreographer and one of her dancers, according to a police report. The theft occurred on 8 July, two days before Beyoncé's first Atlanta performance. It will come as a blow to the star, who often goes to extreme lengths to prevent leaks. Atlanta police say an arrest warrant has been issued, but the suspect's name has not been made public. Choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue told police they had parked the rented black Jeep Wagoneer and gone inside a nearby food hall. When they returned, the vehicle's rear window had been smashed and two suitcases were missing, a police incident report states. They told police they were "carrying some personal sensitive information for the musician Beyoncé" in the vehicle that was also stolen. That included "five jump drives containing watermarked music, unreleased music, footage plans for shows past and future, and set list", the report states. Other items reported stolen included a laptop, designer clothes and Apple AirPods. Authorities used tracking information on the laptop and headphones to track where the items may have gone, the police report notes. Authorities also dusted the vehicle for any fingerprints and discovered "two very light prints". It is unclear whether the stolen items have been recovered. The BBC has contacted a representative for Beyoncé for comment. The singer has worked hard to avoid leaks in the second phase of her solo career, after early albums like Dangerously In Love and 4 found their way online illegally before their release dates. She pioneered the "surprise drop" with her self-titled fifth album - which appeared unannounced on 13 December 2013, complete with artistic videos for each of its 14 songs. Recorded under the code name Lily, the album was released exclusively through Apple's iTunes store, to minimize the number of people with advance knowledge. An extra from one of the video shoots even said that producers did not play any of the Beyoncé tracks on set to avoid leaks. "It was actually kind of fun," they told StyleCaster. "The entire time I'm thinking, 'What is this going to be?'" The gambit paid off. Beyoncé became the fastest-selling album in the history of the iTunes store, selling almost 830,000 copies in 72 hours. The star has employed similar tactics on every subsequent album. Songwriters who work with Beyoncé often do not know whether their contributions will be used until a record appears in shops. Post Malone, who appeared on the 2024 song Levii's Jeans, told the New York Times Beyoncé sent a representative to his house in Utah with a copy of the song, which remained under lock and key while they collaborated on the lyrics over text. "It was terrifying," he told the New York Times. Fans have taken note of the star's aversion to leaks - and actively tried to stop the spread of her 2022 album Renaissance, when it appeared online two days early. Beyoncé responded with a handwritten note on her website, saying she had "never seen anything like it". "So, the album leaked, and you all actually waited until the proper release time so you all can enjoy it together," she wrote. "I appreciate you for calling out anyone that was trying to sneak into the club early. It means the world to me." Beyoncé is currently in Atlanta as part of her Cowboy Carter stadium tour. She has been performing in the city since 10 July and her last show was set for Monday night. Her husband, the rapper Jay Z, made a surprise appearance on the third night of her stop in the city. Choreographer Grant has worked with other major musicians including Shakira. Dancer Blue appeared alongside Beyoncé in a 2024 Super Bowl advert, during which she released two singles from her Cowboy Carter album, released later that year. The record, which celebrates and contextualises the black roots of country music, went on to win the Grammy Award for album of the year. — BBC

Popular Wexford beach to play host to New Ross Guitar Festival

During the festival weekend, the peaceful village, known for its golden beach, coastal walks, and historic fort, will pulse with melody from a soul-stirring classical concert to a joyful outdoor showcase that welcomes all ages. The music starts in beautiful Killesk Church, the intimate setting for Ireland's leading classical guitarist, John Feeley who will perform a rare solo concert at 1 p.m. Often described as 'a guitarist of profound lyricism and impeccable technique', Feeley's music has graced venues from Carnegie Hall to the Sydney Opera House. His performance in this acoustically rich, rural church offers a chance to hear the guitar at its most refined – close, warm, and deeply moving. Later in the afternoon, the energy shifts to family-friendly fun, with the open-air Busking on the Beach, beginning at 2.30 p.m. where music lovers, and seaside wanderers will experience a unique blend of local, national, and international talent in one of Wexford's most beautiful coastal settings. Among the featured performers is Dan Larkin, a soulful singer-songwriter originally from Philadelphia and now based in Georgia. With roots in punk and a heart steeped in alt-country, Dan's music blends raw honesty with tender storytelling. A seasoned performer and philosophy professor by day, his influences range from James Taylor and Ray LaMontagne to Tyler Childers. His vibrant presence and powerful voice are sure to make waves. Also performing is Terry Christian, from Downpatrick, County Down. With seven albums available on iTunes, Spotify, and Bandcamp, including his 2024 release Songs and Stories, Terry's heartfelt lyrics and fingerstyle guitar are the perfect match for a summer afternoon by the sea. His storytelling style, shaped by life and work in Jamaica, Japan, and beyond, infuses his music with an authentic, lived-in feel that resonates deeply. Busking on the Beach also shines a light on the next generation of local talent, with remarkable young musicians bringing fresh energy and diverse influences to the stage. From the psychedelic rock sounds of 17-year-old Jack Michael Cloke and the bluesy finesse of bassist Connor Lee Carr, to the genre-crossing versatility of Tomás Hynes and the soul-infused blues-rock of 15-year-old Ruben Meadows, these emerging artists reflect the vibrant musical spirit growing in County Wexford. With roots in everything from jazz and punk to classic rock and blues, their performances promise raw authenticity, youthful fire, and a glimpse into the future of Irish music. Hailing from "the middle of nowhere" in rural Wexford, Izzy Moran, also known as Saturn Park, is a young singer-songwriter from rural Wexford. Izzy grew up steeped in music as she was raised on 70s legends like Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles, with her sound shaped by the haunting depth of Jeff Buckley, the honesty of Elliott Smith, and the flair of Ryan Ross. Her guitar-driven set offers a fresh, poetic voice for a new generation of Irish music on the beach in Duncannon. Adding a heartfelt local touch to the event, Duncannon's own Dermot Galvin and his niece Laura Doyle will take to the shoreline stage with a soulful set of vocals, guitar, and bass. Having recently returned to the village after performing in Dublin, Las Vegas, and beyond, Dermot brings decades of musical experience home to the community he now calls home. Laura, a gifted singer now living in nearby Arthurstown, brings warmth and harmony to this family duo, making their appearance a special hometown highlight of the afternoon. These performances promise shared moments of creativity, inspiration, and connection in one of Ireland's most picturesque coastal villages. Whether you're a long-time resident or just visiting for the weekend, Duncannon is the place to be on Sunday, July 20 and it's advised that audience members bring their picnic blankets along as they're bound to be captivated by the sounds throughout the afternoon.
