Seahawks QB accidentally jinxed into throwing pick by broadcaster
Former Seattle Seahawks player and current broadcast analyst Michael Robinson accidentally jinxed quarterback Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock during the latter's 2025 home preseason opener on Thursday night. As Lock took starting snaps for Seattle in the preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders, Robinson mentioned on the game broadcast that a benefit to playing Lock was that he was "just not going to put the ball in harm's way." The point was valid in the sense that Lock gave the Seahawks a steady veteran to guide its second-team offense during early preseason snaps in a way a younger player couldn't. However, Robinson didn't do Lock any favors as the veteran quarterback threw an interception just a couple of plays after the broadcaster's comment. Whoops! Well, it happens. Lock isn't immune to throwing picks, even in preseason competition. Robinson will probably get a good laugh out of this once he reflects on his accidental jinxing of his former team's quarterback. When did Michael Robinson play for the Seahawks? Robinson played fullback for Seattle from 2010-13. Israel intercepts Houthi missile fired from Yemen
Yemen's Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for firing a missile at Israel's main airport on Tuesday, as the Israeli military said it intercepted it. The Iran-backed rebels targeted Ben Gurion airport "using a 'Palestine 2' hypersonic ballistic missile" in support of Palestinians in Gaza, their military spokesman Yahya Saree said in a video statement. The Israeli military posted on X that "a missile that was launched from Yemen was intercepted by the Israeli air force." Since the start of the war in the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, the Houthis have repeatedly fired missiles and drones at Israel. Most of them have been intercepted, but they have prompted Israeli air strikes on rebel targets in Yemen. The rebels have also attacked commercial shipping in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden alleged to be linked to Israel, prompting several rounds of U.S.-led air strikes. AFP

Israel said it intercepted missile launched from Yemen
Aug 5 (Reuters) - The Israeli military said it intercepted a missile from Yemen early on Tuesday after air raid sirens sounded in several areas across the country. The Houthis' military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, later said the group had attacked Israel with a missile. The Iran-aligned group, which controls the most populous parts of Yemen, has been firing at Israel and attacking shipping lanes in what it says are acts of solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. Most of the missiles and drones they have launched have been intercepted or fallen short. Israel has carried out a series of retaliatory strikes.

‘Projectile' fired at Israel from Yemen, intercepted by military
A projectile launched toward Israel from Yemen was intercepted on Tuesday, the Israeli military said, after air-raid sirens sounded across parts of the country. 'Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in several areas in Israel, a missile that was launched from Yemen was intercepted by the IAF,' the military said in a post on social media platform X. The Houthi militia, which controls Yemen's capital Sanaa and large parts of the country, is part of a regional alliance against Israel backed by Iran. That alliance also includes groups such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza. Since the outbreak of the war in Gaza on October 7, 2023, the Houthis have repeatedly launched missiles at Israel — most of which have been intercepted — and targeted ships they claim are linked to Israel, saying they are acting in solidarity with Palestinians. In response, Israel has carried out multiple airstrikes on Houthi-controlled infrastructure, including ports in western Yemen and the airport in Sanaa.
