Smithsonian Journeys unveils new river cruises with AmaWaterways

Tour operator Smithsonian Journeys and river cruise line AmaWaterways have announced new sailings for 2027, including in Asia. The companies announced their partnership earlier this year and will debut their cruises in the spring. The brands will add cruises in France, Vietnam and Cambodia in 2027, while adding departure dates for itineraries that will premiere next year. The cruises will feature two onboard experts per voyage, including art historians, archaeologists, scientists and anthropologists. "We've seen an overwhelmingly positive response from the market, underscoring a growing demand for meaningful and enriching travel," said Walter Littlejohn, senior vice president of Smithsonian Journeys. AmaWaterways CEO Catherine Powell said the cruises will inspire curiosity and deepen travel connections to destinations. Come 2027, the brands will launch two new itineraries: "Grand Waterways of France: Cruising Normandy, Burgundy and Provence" and "Along the Mekong: Charms of Vietnam and Cambodia." The 15-day France sailing will cruise along three rivers: the Seine, Saone and Rhone. Passengers will visit Omaha Beach, Normandy, Burgundy and Provence. Highlights include visiting Claude Monet's home in Giverny, joining a truffle hunter on his farm and embarking on a Black history tour in Paris. The Mekong itinerary will last 16 days, combining river and land tours. The seven-night river cruise will introduce passengers to the culture and history of the riverside communities and include visits to temples and silk weavers. The land tours include visits to Ho Chi Minh City, Siem Reap and Angkor Wat. Travelers may choose only the cruise portion of the itinerary. The brands will return to the Danube, Rhine, Douro, Rhone and Seine in 2027.

Norwegian Cruise Line strengthens lineup of immersive cruises

Norwegian Cruise Line strengthens lineup of immersive cruises originally appeared on TravelHost. When I chose to sail with Norwegian Cruise Line for the first time 15 years ago after cruising with other lines, my decision wasn't about the ship or deals the cruise line offered. As I compared cruise options from Miami, what stood out to me about Norwegian was its itineraries. I'd already cruised to some of the most frequently visited destinations in The Bahamas and Caribbean with other cruise lines, and for my next cruise in the region, I wanted a sailing that would take me to more unique ports. And I found that with 15 years later, I'm fresh off the most port-immersive cruise I've taken yet — an 11-day Mediterranean sailing to bucket-list destinations on Norwegian Breakaway — and I'm more impressed than ever with the way Norwegian curates its cruise itineraries. Combine well-planned, appealing itineraries with cruise ships that offer a wide range of onboard activities, entertainment, and dining options for every type of cruiser, and you've got a vacation that can feel both adventurous and effortless at once. With its newly released lineup of spring and summer 2027 cruise itineraries, Norwegian Cruise Line is reinforcing its commitment to high-quality cruise vacations that make it easy to explore the world. Norwegian's 2027 cruise itineraries offer more time in top ports Whether you're looking for a quick tropical escape or a longer journey to bucket-list destinations, Norwegian Cruise Line's newest itineraries offer you seemingly endless choices to make the most of a spring or summer break. Norwegian's spring/summer 2027 cruise season features more than 500 individual voyages across 20 ships, departing from nearly 30 of the world's top home ports, including Miami; Seattle; New York City; Southampton, England, and Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy. From April through October 2027, the cruise line's fleet will call to more than 150 unique ports across 59 countries on immersive itineraries offering more time in port. The season includes more than 170 overnight stays in sought-after destinations such as Istanbul; Reykjavik, Iceland; and Royal Naval Dockyard, new Norwegian Caribbean cruises call to two private islands On nearly every Caribbean and Bahamas cruise in Norwegian's spring/summer 2027 lineup, vacationers can visit both of the cruise line's popular private islands, Great Stirrup Cay in The Bahamas and Harvest Caye in Belize. Great Stirrup Cay, which is already the cruise line's top-rated port in The Bahamas, will soon offer passengers even more to enjoy during their beach day. Norwegian is in the process of enhancing the island with new features, including a pier that will eliminate tendering to shore. New Norwegian cruise ship will sail to Bermuda in 2027 The season also includes a variety of Bermuda cruise options from New York City, Boston, and Philadelphia. Following her inaugural season of Caribbean cruises, new Prima Plus Class ship Norwegian Luna will move to New York City in April 2027 to begin a season of five- to seven-day Bermuda voyages. Norwegian Breakaway will also sail Bermuda cruises in spring/summer 2027 from Boston, while Norwegian Pearl offers them from Philadelphia. Additionally, both Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Pearl will sail Canada and New England cruise itineraries from Aug. 29, 2027 to Oct. 17, 2027 to immerse passengers the scenic Northeast where they can admire the fall foliage, enjoy fresh, local seafood, and sample regional wines. Norwegian will offer more port-intensive cruises in Europe in 2027 For its Europe cruises, Norwegian is shifting to more seven-day sailings, and in 2027, the cruise line will sail mostly seven-day Europe cruise itineraries that begin and end on weekends. Passengers can choose from eight Norwegian cruise ships, including some of its newest and recently renovated, sailing from 10 popular embarkation ports across Europe, including Barcelona, Spain; Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy; Athens (Piraeus), Greece; and Reykjavik, Iceland. AROYA Cruises sets sail for the Mediterranean

Post Views: 34 AROYA Cruises began its journey to the Mediterranean ahead of the launch of its inaugural Mediterranean season on 28th June. The ship is scheduled to arrive in Galataport Istanbul, AROYA's Mediterranean homeport, on 20th June via the popular Turkish coastal towns of Kaş and Bodrum. She will then undergo routine maintenance ahead of the first commercial sailing a week later. Until mid-September, AROYA will explore the wonders of the Eastern Med with six and seven-night voyages to ports in Turkey, Greece and Egypt, blending iconic destinations with the cruise line's Arabian inspired experience. In addition to Kaş and Bodrum, AROYA will sail to Marmaris in Turkey as well as Athens, Mykonos, Rhodes and Souda Bay in Greece, and Alexandria in northern Egypt. Since its maiden voyage in December 2024, AROYA Cruises has completed a successful inaugural season in the Red Sea, welcoming more than 70,000 passengers aboard sailings that visited Egypt, Jordan and the Saudi Red Sea private island of Jabal AlSabaya for Saba Beach. The move to the Mediterranean marks a strategic next chapter for the AROYA Cruises as it expands its itineraries and brings a taste of Arabian culture and hospitality to Europe. Dr Joerg Rudolph, President of AROYA Cruises, commented: 'We're excited to be bringing AROYA to some of the Mediterranean's most popular cruise destinations this summer. AROYA Cruises first set sail just six months ago and we're incredibly proud of all we've achieved so far, with passenger numbers in the Red Sea exceeding expectations. We look forward to welcoming our valued guests aboard this season.'
