Gruesome video of floating body grips the internet
RECENTLY, a horrific video surfaced on the internet, showing a dead body floating in the Muar River. According to netizen @mynewshub who brought the video to light, the deceased, a man, was found on June 27, behind the Masjid Jamek Sultan Ibrahim, Kampung Kuala Gemas. 🇲🇾【MAYAT DI MUAR】Lelaki Ditemui Terapung di Muara Sungai Muar 📍 Tarikh/Lokasi 27 Jun 2025 | Muara Sungai Muar (Belakang Masjid Jamek Sultan Ibrahim) — MYNEWSHUB (@mynewshub) June 28, 2025 The brief video revealed very little information, but according to The Star, Tampin police chief Supt Amiruddien Sariman said the deceased was a 46-year-old labourer. The man who went missing while installing a fishing net near a water pump in Kampung Bangkahulu on Thursday is believed to have drowned. Authorities said initial investigations suggest he fell into the water and was carried away by the current for approximately 13 kilometres. His body was later found and identified by family members. Looking at the video, one can only wonder how a dead body could float on the water despite the weight. According to the website, Miracle Learning Centre, decomposition from bacteria in the body releases gas such as methane, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen sulfide. As a result of these gases, the body bloats and expands, decreasing its overall density. When the body becomes less dense than water, it rises to the surface. From the video, the stomach of the corpse appears to be swollen, corroborating the explanation provided by the website. Also, the National Library Of Medicine stated that typical decomposition changes proceed more slowly in the water, due to cooler temperatures and the anaerobic environment. However, once a body is removed from the water, putrefaction will likely be accelerated. There was no further elaboration of the state of the body, but The Star mentioned that it had been sent to the Tampin Hospital forensic department for a post-mortem. The case is being classified as sudden death. —July 1, 2025 Main image: @mynewshub (X)

Police officer goes viral for trying to flying kick Mat Rempit
THE arrival of a Mat Rempit convoy is hard to ignore. Loud exhaust, juvenile whoops and cries, and the stupid wheelies they love to perform, often to the detriment of their health. That being said, people have every reason to hate them. The hate, however, has been taken to the next level in a recent video which is making rounds on the internet. In the video, a police officer could be seen crossing a heavy traffic as he attempted to kick a Mat Rempit off his bike. Netizens by the droves pointed out that this was unlawful and the debate continues. Flying kick tu kalau kena….. — MYNEWSHUB (@mynewshub) June 24, 2025 Netizen @Blazer119011 cautioned that if the kick connects and the rider breaks his neck, would it be considered a murder case? Another netizen said it was very dangerous, further inquiring about the propel protocol for setting up a roadblock. One netizen advised that the police officer should have thrown a stick at the offender instead of trying to go up and personal with him, adding that he might break his leg in the attempt. 'When he gets rammed, he will start making sad stories. Does he keep his brain in his house before going to work?' wondered @superbarrio2 . Additionally, @Rogue_Shogun hinted about the usage of a roadspike to stop the rider. Watching the video prompted netizen @Keburungan to also reminisce about his time as a Mat Rempit. According to him, the police officers would hide behind the divider beside the tree and use a cane to hit them on the back when they passed by. 'I know exactly where this is. Every weekend, same shit. The public is afraid to use that highway on the weekends because it's a Mat Rempit hangout spot. Feels like the authorities are not really taking any strict actions for many years,' said @thansryy . But the police officer had his supporters and fans too. According to @Sauffie84 , police officers in the United States of America would have shot first, ask questions later, more so if the offender happens to be black. Perhaps our Mat Rempits in Malaysia are having it easy compared to the offenders in America. 'If it was me, I would open a donation drive for the officer,' said @random_malaysia in support to his action. Then there was @sufian_black who rated the flying kick as being not high enough. —June 25, 2025 Main image: @mynewshub (X)

Video of distraught owner accompanying dying cat brings netizens to tears
AND who said we need to watch the movie Titanic to cry? Those tear-jerking Korean dramas are unnecessary too. Local production should suffice and it comes in the form of a short video where a man could be seen accompanying his dying cat. A great number of netizens were touched by the scene, with some even coming forward to share their experience. Saat perginya kucing kesayangan……..sape yang bela kucing faham la perasaan sedih ni….. — MYNEWSHUB (@mynewshub) June 22, 2025 'This guy is amazing. His tears do not flow like me,' said @fahmiparidin. @Raphscorp said he has been in that position, and will never forget his cat Upil. 'I am not sure if the cat dies for real on the video, but my cat was similar,' said @KwinggGrengg, adding that his cat meowed many times, from loud to slow, then loud again. Lastly, there was only the sound of the wind and her body became cold. However, @kepalakoteyyy was unimpressed, saying that the video content was staged. But do cats really need to suffer as they are nearing the end of their lives? On a separate note, euthanasia is one way for pet owners to give their pets a good, peaceful death. According to Cornell University, the euthanasia solution is usually a barbiturate, the same class of drugs used for general anesthesia. At a much higher dose, this solution provides not only the same effects as general anesthesia (loss of consciousness, loss of pain sensation), but suppresses the cardiovascular and respiratory systems. As the solution is injected, the animal loses consciousness and within minutes the heart and lungs stop functioning. Cornell University claims that since the pet is not conscious, they do not feel anything. Regardless of whether it is painful or not, we are certain every good pet owners out there will feel the loss of their furry companion. —June 24, 2025 Main image: @mynewshub (X)

JKR blasted for shoddy road repairs; motorists can file for damages albeit tedious process
AT A time when road safety is in the public eye, the Department of Public Works (JKR) has been cast under the spotlight for perceived shoddy work. Underlining this precise problem is a short video clip of an unidentified stretch of road with a very badly patched up portion, hence causing cars to suddenly dip due to uneven height of the tarmac. The post on X by MYNEWSHUB (@mynewshub) wondered how JKR carries out its duties. How could it patch up the road in such a manner, it queried incredulously? Ni kualiti kerja JKR ke orang lain? Apa jadah tampal jalan camtu … — MYNEWSHUB (@mynewshub) June 12, 2025 That the post has garnered 415.2K views at the time of writing is testament that many road users could not hide their irritation at the substandard work being done on public thoroughfares. And, lest it be forgotten, such 'professional' work is carried out at the taxpayers' expense. Needless to say, this blatant disregard for road user comfort, convenience and safety brought out netizens in force. Without identifying the actual stretch of road, one commenter described feeling like a rally driver when the vehicle passing through the stretch would be sent flying through the air due to the sudden dip in terrain. He further surmised that there could have been several accidents at this spot just that none have been fatal – yet. More than a few blamed the chain of sub-contractors who charged for services but end up delivering such substandard work. But ultimately, the blame fell with JKR for not inspecting steps to ensure the repair work was done properly. JKR was full of 'lazy types' who did not do the necessary checks, exclaimed one commenter. One commenter contended that this cycle of bad repair jobs was the result of corruption from top to bottom – 'suffice so long as the quality is so-so and the job continues to flow'. One netizen cheekily asked if the patch-up shown on the video is designed to curb speedsters or simply to destroy passing vehicles. Such was the undulation that cars travelling at speed (or not slowing down) could sustain damage. It must be noted that if indeed motorists suffer damage to their vehicles due to shoddy road works, they can actually claim from JKR (or the relevant highway concessionaire). In Malaysia, motorists can claim compensation for vehicle damage caused by road defects such as potholes from the relevant authority responsible for road maintenance. This typically involves gathering evidence, filing a police report and submitting a claim to the local council, JKR or highway concessionaire. Perhaps, the best way to demand a higher standard of public works is to flood the department – not just with complaints – but with claims for damages. Complaints – even when accompanied by video evidence – can always be ignored. Claims, especially those made through insurance companies, are harder to sweep under the carpet. FocusM believes it is time for Malaysian road users to exercise their rights. – June 17, 2025

Stop politicising race just because car driver is China national (and accident victim a Malay)
A LIFE was lost in just a blink of an eye. But nobody wants an accident of such nature to happen. A horrifying video shared on X by MYNEWSHUB (@mynewshub) showed a vehicle travelling on the fast lane when the driver misjudged a corner, lost control and veered to the left before hitting a motorcycle head on, killing the motorcyclist instantly. The poster had claimed that the car driver was a China motional but did not reveal the identity of the victim. The tragic incident is believed to have occurred at 1.42pm pm on June 13 based on the dashcam of the vehicle owned by Zura Aziz which recorded the fatal accident at KM24.8 of the MEX Highway heading towards the Putrajaya toll booth. Pemandu Warga China Rempuh Penunggang Motosikal di Lebuhraya MEX, Mangsa Maut di Tempat Kejadian SERI KEMBANGAN – Seorang penunggang motosikal maut selepas dirempuh sebuah kenderaan yang dipandu warga China di Kilometer 24.8 Lebuhraya MEX menghala ke Plaza Tol Putrajaya. Mangsa… — MYNEWSHUB (@mynewshub) June 15, 2025 One netizen gave a heart-wrenching update, claiming that the motorcyclist is his neighbour in Terengganu. He was on the school run while his spouse was expecting their second child. The couple had been anticipating the arrival of a baby girl with great excitement. He further requested for Al-Fatihah prayers for the deceased while appealing for conveyance of only civilised comments to which a commenter who was shocked with the news claimed that the deceased was his roommate for three years when they were studying and were still in contact. This was when another netizen – presumably a lawyer – sought the deceased's contact details to offer legal services to his family. One commenter berated the poster for using 'race' and 'nationality' to stir emotions. Calling it 'rage bait' (as if the driver had purposely wanted to ram into the motorcyclist), she counselled that perhaps the poster should drop 'news' from its moniker – MYNEWSHUB – arguing that such was gutter journalism. Echoing this sentiment, another commenter contended that such headlines could create suspicions or wrong perception. Imagine if the headline had read that it was a 'Malay driver who killed the motorcyclist'. Unfortunately, there were enough who lapped up such quasi-racist reporting. One netizen hoped the victim's family will take civil action against the driver. Reasonable advice but one which was signed off with a racial slur. The government of the day lacked the political will to take necessary action against foreign nationals, argued another netizen. Again, a racial slur was used. There was also unfounded feeling among some that Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook is biased towards foreign nationals, in particular those from Chinese-speaking countries. Some were just unable to hide their racist tendencies at all, side-stepping the accident completely. Regardless of the race of the person at fault, quite a few netizens did point out that that particular stretch of road was dangerous and prone to accidents. Make absolutely no mistake – it is a tragic accident. But an 'accident' is what it is. People need to stop framing everything in racial terms. Would it had been reported similarly if the tables were turned where a Malay driver had killed a Chinese national? Such reporting and social media content that fuels such hate must stop. – June 17, 2025 Main image credit: MYNEWSHUB (@mynewshub)/X
